- Avenues and Alleyways - Love, Honour and Obey
The Avenues and Alleyways is included in the soundtrack of the 2000 film Love, Honour and Obey, starring Ray Winstone and Jude Law.
"Avenues and Alleyways" was a 1973 single recorded by Tony Christie as the theme song for the television series The Protectors. It was written and produced by Mitch Murray and Peter Callander, who were also responsible for Christie's "Las Vegas" and "I Did What I Did for Maria". Following the chart-topping success of the re-release of "Is This the Way to Amarillo" in 2005, this song was also re-released and peaked at No. 26 on the UK Singles Chart.
On its original release, it had only reached No. 37.
The greatest British movie ever made……love this and the fact that the actors seemed to also,..
The movie was garbage come on now.
great song though
The song is the theme from The Protectors (1972 - 74), but what was the movie?
@@nsnopper Love, Honour & Obey.

Ray Winstone

One of the best British movies ever made. There aren't enough films like this.
Sean Pertwee what an actor ,,
We broke our local video shops copy of this film we hired it so much. Cracking film.
Used to leave the DVD menu just playing on a loop just to listen to this version
Stay classy 👍💛
Me too
Oh, I used to do this with
'The Godfather'
In 2003.
I love this opening credit sequence...one of the best I have ever remembered. I could hear Ray sing "Sleep like a baby" and Jude sing, "Dream till the sunrise" on a continuous eternal loop and never grow tired of it.
Well met x
Definitely Ray is amazing, the first voice you hear and you know it's going to be an amazing film when you hear him sing and mannerisms. Applause to Sean Pertwee too, what a performance and so gorgeous 😍 xxx
@@johayton4627 ultra iconic too
What a fuckin film
great movie, gotta love ray in this , especially the bayonet scene haha
I’ve never seen a happier looking bloke than Trevor Laird in this clip!❤
I love this film.. Its one of my favourite films ever made... Up there with The Goonies and Lost Boys
Jude has an amazing voice, and Ray's karaoke of The Harder They Come, is better than the original 😍😍😍😍

Glad this came up here, love this movie 💜
Just re watching again, loved it all those years ago, classic 👍👍👍👍🤗❤️xxx
same as that
An absolutely brilliant song 🎵👏
One song from Fireball XL5 and another from The Protectors.
Good show chaps 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
What a great way to do the credits fantastic.
The best version of this song ever!!!
No. Tony Christie.
A great film
Progress…what progress. Our country was a much happier, safer, much less self absorbed place than it is now, or will ever be again. My family had virtually nothing back then, but we didn’t care or even know it as we were all the same. Would go back in an absolute heartbeat.
Big Jude Law fan but Ray Winstone at the start of this song 😮 🥰 xxx
1:35 i love his expression when he is singing that :)
So funny. Absolute gem of a film, very quirky.
1:36 I love millers expression when singing, this was such a hidden gem of a film, absolutely shit packed to the brim of British talent in or around their prime when the world wasn't such a fucking mess to boot.
Love it.
P.S.
You can tell Denise has a good voice too at 0:57. I saw her in 2003 in dont call me on a sunday or something in london!
Denise is multi talented
Brilliant.
An absolute hoot!
My perfect film...

IMDb sez is was part of a trilogy that never happened cos of poor box office. Don't Mack me off like a two-bob.

Sometimes the original is best left alone... I liked Trainspotting 2, but it didn't touch the first one.
Was there mention of Human Traffic 2?
@@leewright1The Final Cut was good, but I think Love, Honour and Obey was better, I'd've loved to see what Dom did for Part III of the trilogy 😍😍😍😍
Please name the film. I just remember Tony Christie singing this as the background to a UK series starring Robert Vaughan. Tony was a very underrated singer.
Love honour and obey.
- thanks. The fact remains Tony recorded it first and I said very underrated. He could have done Vegas just like Tom Jones and Englebert Himperdinck did. @@Sly_Wolf_1
Miller very like Griff Fender from Darts when he's singing. Same mannerisms.
This movie has everything. Gangsters, dialogue, shootouts, Denise van Outen giving a fruit and veg show...
Kathy Burke has a great singing voice! Fix Bayonets!!!
классный фильм
Rancid seems a lot different from when I was a kid
kathy burke was gorgeous in this clip
Describe cool. There you go: 1:12

Tony Christie. Underrated.
1:38 can someone tell me the lyrics for that bit please?
I get the "Everybody wheeling, every bodies stealing" bit then its a like
BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH?
Anyone?
Everybody's wheelin
Everybody's stealin
All the low are living high
Every city's got em
Can we ever stop em
Some of us, are gonna try
So nobody's gonna mention Tony Christie?? C'mon, now.
Love this movie apart from denise van outens horrible acting
Before London was fucked! and the World went mad. Old school always.
London before the invasion, god how I miss it!
