- On July 4 an unfortunate incident of rockslide occurred at NH29 near Old Check Gate, Chumukedima. With the loss of 2 people and 3 severely injured, it is clear that it was a manmade disaster.
It is to be noted that NHIDCL is responsible for working on road construction in Nagaland and it is solely owned by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India. The rockslide at NH29 could have been prevented if the NHIDCL had shown any interest

The yesterday’s incident shows how improperly the mountain cutting was done. Everything; angle of slope, the seeping ability of the soil, weak and wrecked rocks in the vicinity, must’ve been checked and taken care of, and definitely, yesterday’s incident could’ve been avoided.
No one has power over nature and this’s how Mother Nature responds when she’s disturbed and not taken care of.
I hope let the incident be an eye opener for all the authorities concerned and to take up solutions and plans to avoid any such unfortunate events in the coming days.
Due to negligence of NHIDCL.This is the second time on this stretch of road. Shall we wait for the third time? Shall we go like this for the days and years to come?wake up my dear Nagas.
Dear NL tv please uphold us since last week in chumukedima the current is too irrigular ho..............like us we dont have inverter nor good fecility to use other electronics. Therefore I personally appeal you to uphold us and take interviews on power department on chumoukedima.
We are suffering coz of no current please help us so that the power department will provide us on time like before. Thank you

It's all because of the public the road constructor was compelled to finish the road as of public request ....
The workers of the highways were doing their jobs removing the stones and breaking the mountain but the public could not wait and start forcing the workers to complete as soon as possible and so they made Tara tari and now this road slides stones slides are happening .......
From the Beginning of the workers were given enough time to finish their work this will not happen ...
So let's not blame the contractor and workers of the highways.......

We cannot blame the nhidcl...it is the responsibilities of the government of Nagaland and contractors
Some civil society must fill a case against the negligence of the State Govt.and the construction Company.
Contractor needs to be interrogated.Just look how they cut the mountains.it’s scary and unsafe .

Our CSOs should should be very much alert and vigilance how our govt and the soo called NHIDCL and every works for our public benifits should be check and raised the serious questions how the work are going on for the better quality before it happens such kind of incidents

This is a complete failure of the govt..... We nagas we don't pay taxes so it's like "Mera Lena Dena kuch nahi hai" wala la attitude thaka Tak nagaland government and naga people change nahopo!!! No safety precaution taken and no pressure from the govt..... Precious lives could have been safe.... Money is nothing to the deaths..... One day if we all experienced it in our family only then we will know how painful it is and that too, not even our fault.... One day if the ministers who runs the govt during my time dies.... Then I will comment 'deserved' even when the whole world writes "he was a tall leader" or he was incorruptible or he was a great leader.... I swear.... It may hurt the feelings of the living family member but I will comment the truth.
