Thank you for all that information I’ve just bought my machine back out after a three year break so it was wonderful to see the other products which are out & what they’ll do. There’s a few I’ll be looking to add to machine.
Thank you! I have these and find that when I haven’t used a certain pad for a while I forget which is what and best to use! I’m sure I’m not the only one who does this!
Thanks for the great explanation on the precision chrome plate. Can't find it right now, probably a good thing. So, far I haven't had issues, I just rotate my die and run thru another time. Sometimes I place die face up, not my first choice, but it works.😅
Thanks, Sharon...this has helped me understand some accessories I've heard of, but not used and also better understand some that I have. One thing I'd like to know about is using dies for foil transfer. I have the foil transfer sheets from Sizzix, but don't know how to use them. When I've searched for videos all I find are the other foil techniques. The "instructions" on the package are a bit too vague for me so I'd like to see someone actually use them. If you have any ideas on that or video recommendations I'd be very grateful to hear them. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience!
Hi Meg, I'll add it to my list of videos to make - but basically for the foil, it's the type of foil that needs adhesive to stick to - so can be used with double sided adhesive sheets (these can be added to card, then die cut, then foiled), or if you have dies that work well as stencils, you can die cut into card, then apply the Sizzix 3D adhesive through the die cut to add adhesive to your project. You wait for the adhesive to go clear, then you can add the foil.
@@sharoncurtis Thanks, Sharon, for getting back to me. I checked the package and they are actually ink sheets rather than foil sheets, if that makes a difference to anything? Supposedly you can use them with dies?
I have just got into crafting. I managed to get the big shot foldaway second hand. I didn't know the difference between embossing dies and cutting dies. I have two non sizzex embossing dies and was wondering if I should use the rubber mat?
I'm not really sure what you mean by embossing dies. You have embossing folders and cutting dies. For the folders, the plate combination is shown on the platform (either platform and both clear plates, or platform and one clear plate for thicker 3D folders). If you want to emboss the shape of a die instead of cutting it, that's when you would use the rubber mat, but I'm guessing what you mean when you mention non Sizzix embossing dies is that you have embossing folders from another brand? With embossing folders they do seem to vary a little in thickness between brands, so try the base platform and both clear plates - if that feels too thick (it's hard to get it to run through), try with one cutting plate and add card shims if necessary to get the right pressure.
Wonderful demos. Thank you so much.
Great video. I needed that. I'm just getting started. I am making cards. Thanks!

Ohh yes now i know what I need in my stash... Thanks for this info.

Thank you for all the information - was a great reminder x

I never thought about using dies for embossing! I can see using the same die to emboss a card front and the die cut next to it.
Very informative!
Fantastic thank you. Now I know why my big shot never cuts my intricate dies 😄
thanks!
Hi, great video, very helpful. Question, do you cut your cardstock before embossing or after. Thank you!
before - otherwise you would squash your embossing.
@@sharoncurtis Thank you!

can the chrome plate be used with the magnetic plate..? I always use my magnetic plate and I would like to have a chrome plate..THanks...!!
Well it could but the chrome plate would block the magnet so it wouldn’t hold your die in place
Hi there! Can the chrome plate be used in the Switch?
Yes it can.
On using the die for embossing which side goes up?
Hi Sharon can I use the chrome plate and magnetic plate together? x
Well you could but the chrome plate would totally block the magnets so there’s kind of no point….
@@sharoncurtis ok thank you x
