Based on her and Alador's cameo in the flashback of Eda's first transformation, I think Odalia was always just an utterly rotten person who was raised with the same elitist values she enforced on Amity, and unlike Amity she never had an early-childhood friendship with Willow or a meeting with Luz to nurture any potential for decency in her.
I honestly cannot get over the fact that Odalia is voiced by Rachel MacFarlane. I sincerely enjoyed all her characters growing up (Numbuh 362, Eris the Chaos Goddess, Hailey Smith) so it feels cool, but weird, seeing her voice such a loathsome woman.

While the husband is clearly not a good person, it does seem like there is a potential to redemption since he was more willing to put an end to the demonstration, and he even called out his wife for attempting to break her deal with Liz.
He only called out his wife because he saw how strong their daughter’s magic was becoming and the potential of her becoming a coven head. He also showed no concern at all for their daughter’s wellbeing or anything that his wife was doing.
odalia and alador are such good bad characters but i wish people would stop trying to redeem or woobify alador just because it doesnt seem like hes active in his kids abuse. even if we find out later hes not very active in it, him being passive, going with what odalia says, and what he ends up saying in turn is enough. being passive also doesnt make him redeemable. its ok to like a bad character but trying to make them a good person when theyre clearly not just feels so?? like itd honestly be great if this show drove home the message of the different kinds of abuse parents use/ what kids go through without justifying it bc thats not how it works irl. and yea its a kids show but i feel like that kind of this is important to show to a kid so they can recognize it and see how others overcome it. i hope dana doesnt shy away from it or disney makes it happen either. we've already seen how amitys siblings went from kind of resenting her/ being harsh on her because of how they were raised/ how their parents treat her in comparison to them and then grow from that and actually want to support her through their parents abuse as well and id like to see more of that growth for everyone. not many shows touch on how in abusive settings siblings can kind of turn on each other like that because they perceive one as "getting better treatment" and especially show them grow from that.
