That’s because land in Texas doesn’t cost as much as in Seoul. It’s more comparable to New York.
A big house doesn't mean that they space is never used. I'd too like a house where I can walk around and relax rather than going out all the time. And the rooms can be music rooms, dance rooms or even for their future families. As whether it's a bad investment or not many idols hire financial consultants who help them make decisions which benefit them and also some idols invest in the idol company(taeyang-bigbang).
That's true. Most artists or sports players have a wealth management advisor. Many idols have previously stated that their parents manage their money but it seems reasonable for them to hire an external advisor once they get old.
Also considering all the ppl in this video have crazy saseng fans it must be nice to not feel cramped when you're too scared to go outside.

Being an idol is also a job. Usually people don't think about what these people had to survive and sacrifice to afford it. Privacy, health and youth. Many idols don't even earn enough to pay off the label debt that they accumulate sometimes even over the years of being trainee.If the idols from this episode were lucky enough to afford these apartments. I think they deserve them.

I liked Taemin's apartment the most! It's just enough space and not too many rooms, very open with big windows, it's my taste. The others were fine, except for V's, his was too closed and maze like. I got stressed imagining living there.

I live in a big house and feel so uncomfortable being alone at night. These apartments are way more spacious than mine, so i'd probably die from anxiety there lol. Though i like Jennie's place the most, it looks pretty cozy to me.

I've seen many of those homes when I subbed to UA-cam real estate - Korea. Didn't know who's home they were - now I do. But, Kwon Jiyong's new home doesn't look like that - he posted parts of it on IG and it's beautifully decorated, but very lonely and not kid friendly - sooooo, adult museum for really nice stuff...
Those are model units that they show for possible buyers.

Considering the price. American houses are a lot bigger that is worth the same money. I think you can buy houses that are like 3-4x bigger here in US with equivalent money. Mansions in my state are like 2-3 million and they have like 4 floors and are much bigger. regardless, i'm jealous :(

@@TheAlizwa Well considering how the ultra rich in LA live in neighborhoods like calabases, hidden hills, Beverly Hills and have houses literally up in the Hollywood hills. I think you would get more bang for your buck there. If you’ve seen some of those properties you can still get a decent backyard in those fancy zip codes.
You have to remember: the US has land to build wide. SK has to build up which means width is limited.

It will never happen; but, if I were ever able to visit S. Korea, there are two people that I would really like to have a cup of coffee with. One of those is ChaCha and the other is the MC of Peach. Both just seem to have great personalities and would seem to be fun to talk with.

South Korea is a bit smaller than NY state I believe. A whole country is smaller than a state in America. I think Japan is 4 times bigger. Such a tiny country yet wealthy and strong. Every country has pros and cons but Korea’s hard working people are undeniable.

@@joshualee8151No, it's about 15% smaller than NY state, while NY is about 20% smaller than Wisconsin, not that any of it means much. The USA just covers a very large area, numerous countries are a similar size or smaller than Korea - Korea is basically smack in the middle in terms of land area.
Japan is just over 3x the size of Korea, but it also has 2.5x the population, so not much difference.

These prices are quite reasonable if we compare them to how celebrities in other parts of world live, I don’t feel that they are outrageous (considering they are celebrities and their houses are quite small compared to others celebrities around the world.
That is outrageous. Its Seoul korea. There is no space. ... 🤦🏾. Thats why most housing are in build like an tall apartment building. korea is a smaller country. For example if a big mansion in california cost 100million usd. That same size in korea would cost 5x that. You can’t expect tokyo japan or even korea to have a big mansion like american celebrity in their most populated city. My house in texas is bigger than the celebrity houses of big names like jennie , but texas housing is way way cheaper than seoul korea. My house cost only 350k usd but bigger than theirs. Different geographic location , different market pricing...

Seoul korea housing is more expensive than most states in america. An apartment can cost millions lol. Seoul don’t have the land like in texas to build giant mansions.
The US is a lot cheaper on average than here in NZ, + the US has a considerably higher average salary and almost certainly lower living costs. I dare say a number of places in the US are extremely affordable, relatively few are here.

Honestly arent these all luxury apartments? So that means if they were busy stomping around or loud, they'll have neighbors complaining. I honestly would just prefer a home like Hyori's. She literally has a HOUSE and all the pets to keep her lively in the backyard and can play loud music whenever she wants to. There's also fresh air and being close to the sea. I think some celebrities are so enticed by this rich city life but I can only imagine it being so lonely even if you do live with your husband or wife. You'll have to search for them from room to room.
But in those houses, thieves and journalists can easily get in and there are security problems..while there are very few such problems in the apartment, and there may be only one unit on each floor, so it does not cause noise.
Hyori lives in Jeju Island which is cheaper than Seoul. A million dollar investment in real estate there will go a long way there.
Luxury apartments seem highly likely to have well sound insulated floors & walls.
Inevitably some people *have* to live in cities &/or apartments to be practical for their work, or simply prefer it, it doesn't inherently mean they are "enticed by this rich city life". I don't really see how living in a city should be lonelier than living rurally.
Some of these supposed homes are quite likely false anyway, it's common for celebrities to either intentionally show a completely different place, or for others to invent these stories.
"Cribs" was infamous for celebrities briefly renting much fancier properties than their own.

This reminds me of how my studio apartment on the outskirts of Seoul was maybe the size of G Dragon's bedroom and everyone would always tell me how big it was. 😭
I personally wouldn’t invest on such a large house, or a museum, to be more accurate. Celebrities may earn a lot, however, a vast majority of them could be wasting so much money on unnecessary things and bad habits. Anyway, it’s just my opinion. There may be popular figures who are smart enough when it comes to handling their finances. Riches are just temporary. One day you’ll end up losing everything and it’d be difficult to go back to how things were.
Alot of these famous idols prolly have enough money for a couple generations. Also people like V are shareholders of hybe so they earn revenue. They even have separate accountants to handle their finances and help them invest.

Some people like space. Mind u most of these idols would want a family too so it's for their children etc as well. Also some artists tend to have separate rooms to make music or so. There could be many reasons as to why they would buy apartments with many rooms.
You also have to realize that many of these celebs buy places that have airtight security too. A basic home especially in a small country like SK may not be ideal.
If you have money, you would spend a lot and it'll take up space.

The price of land in Seoul or even in south korea in general is expensive because of the limited land. Even if I can affort to buy that amount of house I would not live in, I may buy it for investment only but not to live in..It would feel so lonely if you alone & it even look very hard to communicate with others in the house even they in the house because its to big.
