    Perfect, nature is where we are supposed to be. Anything outside of it is irregular and we see those effects. Do not forget your true home! Mother Earth.

    Just watched your Ted talk. Your Presentation had me back in the Woods w/ my past/Students. I loved how your experiences were relatable to my own. It refreshes my purpose. The "Why" I teach this "Woods Stuff". Reminded me of my Curriculum Vitae, "Adapt & Overcome" on Outdoor Education I'd written 11 years ago. Basically, Ricardo, you renewed my Spirit. Thank you, Sir.

    My son will be attending your camp this August. And has a goal set to help pay the tuition for another child next year. We are very excited.

    Great talk, Ricardo!!
    I totally agree with your observations! I agree that my kids development and growth to adulthood is at stake here. I believe that my own is too. I plan on , will get myself and my kids outside more. Thanks for the reminder.

    What an excellent job you did on this subject. I found it so helpful. You not only identified the problem and put it in context with your heart warming story but also offered a simple solution we could all take part in. Thank you so much for sharing.

    Your understanding of kids and the skills that you teach are wonderful, along with how you are now reaching out to the world of people who will watch this Ted Talk and hear your words.
    Thank you for all that you do to make this world a better place, by creating connections between children and nature. We need more people like you, who are doing what they love and sharing it so that others will do the same, and carry it with them forever.

    What if this is the natural order of our species evolution?

    • @HawkCircleWilderness
      @HawkCircleWilderness 6 років тому +1

      If you saw the intense mental anguish and pain that some kids and teenagers live with on a daily basis, that is so uncomfortable that they will hurt themselves to try to make that pain go away, then you'd probably not think it's part of our 'natural order'. Just saying.

      It's hard to go from 100,000 years of nature connection, close family bonding and having lots of personal skills, to 9 hours a day reading other people's tweets and comments. It's not possible to adapt to that much change, that quickly, in my personal opinion, without significant sacrifice in our well being. And this is being demonstrated every day by headlines across the globe...

    Our species? Why does TEDX always insist on lower the human being to an animal? Every single video on almost every topic imaginable. Really tired of it to be honest.

      Because we're animals that just happen to have opposable thumbs and more developed brains.

      That's up there with one of the strangest comments I've ever seen about a serious topic on UA-cam? What a strange sentiment. We are animals. No one is ashamed of it, be absolutely bizarre if they were. Your tired of Tedx Talks casually referring to us as exactly what we are. . .Yeah it gets to me too, keeps me up at night !??
