I agree. I hate when chorus teachers attempt to make a piece their " own" by adding a corny personal touch. Eric Whitacre doesn't need someone to add odd choreography to make his pieces stand out.

I know you posted this 2 years ago, but I can't disagree with you more. This is an excellent use of uniform, color, and form to the song. It was simple, yet striking. I can't believe anyone would find this "tacky." It's also an insult to the work this teacher and these kids put into this performance. As a choral teacher myself, I would have been thrilled at this performance, seeing as I put one on similar to this 2 years ago!
I wouldn’t be that harsh but it’s definitely not a show choir piece IMO. The track was too loud. You couldn’t really hear all the parts. The body work was a little overdone.

ok just imagine this being sang in a drum corps in the ballad..... or the soloist playing that with the blue knights.. it would be an AMAZING SHOW.

I agree. Im pretty open, but it was over the top. The music is enough
