Hey Steven, this one popped up in my feed today... I remember watching all your (down to earth - reason why I like wathching your reviews to this day) reviews on this bow before I tied the knot and ordered one in my local archery shop. I too was one of these beginner archers 'on a budget' and with the help of my local archery shop got a setup to get me started. Two years later I still absolutely love this bow and get very good results with it shooting local competitions with my club. In these two years I spent some money on a few upgrades such as new high quality string and cables (made by a specialized company in Germany, advised by my local archery shop) and a Shibuya Ultima CP Pro sight. I sure would recommend this bow to any new target archer. He too can get upgrades on it as I did when he saves some money and have an awesome bow... For a very reasonable price.
I bought this bow from Archery Supplies and absolutely love it. I dropped the poundage to 50 pound and draw length is 30". It truely is great value for he money. Thanks.
I purchased this bow bare about 4 months ago. I put a drop away rest, peep, and sight on it. I've shot 500+ arrows a week through it and love the smooth easy shooting. I have many other bows, including high end bows, but I've been gravitating to this one. String and cables are less durable than others, however it's an easy fix and I can have one in a matching color.
Hello, are you seeing obvious wear on the cables, and do you think it can be fixed by tuning? I am considering this bow versus Sanlida, but I don't think I can re-serve the cables as you can.
I do like that Topoint is making good gear that is cheap. What I don't like is that in another review there was a part missing in the package and in this review there was something else missing. So a bit sloppy. On top of that I've heard they are not easy to get in touch with to get spares from. If I can pick up a Topoint bow/riser in a local store and check out the gear, see what's in the box and easily come back in for spares I think it's a great deal. A bit more hesitant about buying their bows online.
@@mplovecraft I am in the US and fear over parts and service pushed me to just spending more on an Elite but the local Elite dealer now actually carries Topoint as well (its branded Diawa, thats Topoints parent company name) If you are in the US its a great shop called RANGE 129 in south NJ, you would real people to deal with vs trying to work with a manufacturer if you ever had an issue. pretty sure the bare bow is priced at $600
Having just bought one of these as a bare bow and put 100ish shots through it. I’d almost be willing to call these an American bow killer, mine arrived from factory to the dealer with perfect timing, beautiful to draw, rock solid performance (I will concur that’s there more like a 300 ibo bow) with none of the usual “China bow” issues.
These people are wisely filling a market gap. Applause to them. Not every family can afford a Mercedes, so we have the Yugos and other mid models. Why is archery perceived differently. As always, Steven is wise to review and even stand up for (sad that he has to) these brands. A mid model kit is Great. Get started, USE IT, and upgrade with more knowledge of what works for you. I've been contemplating getting myself setup with a starter for target shooting. I've been shooting a PSE Drive 3B for a while now and have been having great success. The PSE Supra Focus XL is on my list, but a low cost target setup is very appealing. Great content. I'll have to try one of these out if I can find a store local in VIC that stocks it.
I was shooting pse phenom before bought first generation topoint reliance in 2019. The speed similar to phenom, reliance has better smoother draw cycle and stability at full draw.
Hey Steve you ever think of designing your own back tension release aid an get patend I'm so into shooting I've bought 4 in past 8 months I love them I'm like you I can shoot good with all of them but I'm always like when is there a new one coming out ultra view web sight check it out the new Hinge they will send a plastic version of the release you pay like 5 dollars for shipping an they send a plastic version of the release so before you spend $200 or 300 for brass version you get free release basically it only can hold like max 30lb if weight but I thought it was good sales idea check it out peace bro!!!!!!
Always nice to see your review. Is that the pro version of Reliance ? I know that the drawweight is adjust from 35 to 50 #. The wall is he hard, or a little spongy ? Because I have a Prime CT9 Logic, and that wall solide hard. No good for me, because I shoot with a backtension release. So I gonna try to sell the Prime, and maybe buy a Topoint Reliance PRO purple. Maybe in this year 2021 they come with a newer version.
oh thank goodness for the news on the topoint peep apertures, that peep is kinda large in stock form, also, makes sense that it's a gentle draw cycle being aimed at relatively new archers?
How much cam lean does your Reliance have? Mine has so much cam lean that it popped the snap ring off the end of the top axle. Fortunately, I heard it pop when I got to full draw and let down before the limb came off the axle. I ended up buying a PSE Supra Focus and wishing that I'd spent the extra $300 for it to begin with while the Topoint sits in the corner.
stephen can you help with the tuning of the bow? I got one off these, cant figure out for the life of me what function does the 2 screws on top of the limbs in the limb pocket have? do we adjust cam lean with it? please help thanks!!
We sold a couple of these bows and they are great. I am shooting one myself in regional competition. The only real problem that we found is that the string is not realy great so it is good idee to invest in a good quality string and cable set.
@@朱鹭楼远晖 no its not about disign or so. The string was not made good.. Its not streched corectly before serving the stringends. It is almost impossible to keep peepsight from turning constantly and a instable string gives problems shooting strait.
@@jkpisces I purchased the sanlida hero x 10, i shoot the same scores with it compared to the supra, it did take some time tuning it but now I like it. I have ordered a reliance, can’t wait till it arrives.
As nice as that bow is I'm a huge supporter of buying used. Especially when it comes to Target bows. As of right now I shoot a Matthews no cam trg8 and I would consider that the single best target bow I've ever shot and in my area I have the pic of them. I purchased the bow itself for $600 and outfitted it for another five and I would put it against any bow on the market at 20 yd. Do you guys struggle to get Matthew's bows in your area? Because I don't think I've seen a video where you've reviewed one.
It’s soo true my bow is $300 (American) maybe $600 with eveything and I can shoot better than a lot of people with a $2,000 setup. I get so jealous and angry with those guys for shooting so badly.
Don't be. When they give up you can get their stuff second hand for a nice price :P Besides, good gear is just "nice" to have, it won't make you score better.
I think it's a very interesting product. I'm 54 and want to move from rifle to bow as a recreation/sport, and think this would be I'd be a for what I need. Oh and don't worry about the people who criticize non-US products, they probably wearing MAGA hats made in China😜
For europe the bow itself just doesn't seem worth it. It's only marginally cheaper then a pse/Elite so i guess pricing for europe is pretty crap atm from aliexpress. It's cheaper to buy the bow from you & pay for shipping to europe, rather then get it from topoint directly. There's no wonder they don't have a market in europe lol
for me in the netherlands this to point bow is between 1/3rd and 1/4th of the price for other known brand bows...this bow sits between 540 and 700 depending on the shop.
you say its a good deal compared to the big name bows but the big brand bows will hold more value in a couple of years the chinese stuff wont be and is there a lifetime garuentee to the original owner owner like the american bows ? just another sales promo

Yes there is a lifetime warranty for original owner
I wonder today - today this bow is $800 - So second hand $400 would be a good buy. The Hoyt Invicta $2500 they are selling now for $700-$800.
