  • The rules and regulations for running shoes aren't always as clear as they may seem! But what exactly makes a running shoe illegal and who has to follow these rules? We met up with Spencer Nel to get the full behind the scenes look at the current rules and how they are constantly evolving.

      40mm is already too ridiculous.

@@bennipollner5240 it’s ok if well made and stable, not everyone is trained or fit enough to handle long runs in lower stack shoes. 👟

Great conversation! Thank you! IMHO, runners should run in legal shoes, regardless of pro. Serious and casual status!

Excited to see what comes next from manufacturers pioneering out past where Adidas is with the rods to maybe some kind of super-intricate anatomically-inspired filament matrix/lattice work of different foams/densities in different parts of midsoles in order to create even more powerful forms synergistic running footwear in the near future, if that makes sense to anyone else but me.

Very cool video. Issue at 7:43 with the rod setup is for people with Morton toe like myself. The rods appear to be set up for loading the great toe. I don’t load my force there so I don’t think adidas shoes will be advantageous for me, unless they don’t have the rod system.
    Thanks for this vid RW!

I think the rule is silly because I have some shoes over 40 mm in stack that are much heavier and don’t provide any benefit and would rather run a marathon in a shoe at40 mm. If the super trainers with high stack provide so much of an advantage then how come I don’t see it in my training runs on my Strava?

I still see no need for the rule against stack height and number of carbon plates, as long as a shoe doesn't return more energy then put in to it why should it be ruled out.

“The general runner is not going to be stopped or asked afterwards to show their shoes to a referee.”
Read: “We’re coming up with a 100mm stack shoe.” 😂

Let’s not overlooked the fact that I could have put on Evo One and I’m still no faster than myself😂 Also, I think that guy can lift. Can you ask how much can he deadlift?

Allowed two things. One a greater opportunity for return. Softer foam more return so your stride increases and your actual running technique changes slightly to your advantage bjt the biggest benefit which people aren't foxusing on is during training you're actually recovering faster adidas have athletes told us after his german record in berlin marathon he said the day after the marathon I went for 10k shaker but I felt like I run a half marathon the day before opposed to a marathon so you know the benefit of that is the athletes are allowed to train harder more often therefore there lies the opportunity during a racecor trainjng that you get the neefit of the stack height

Who tf is actually worried about world athletics rules. If your fast enough then you already know the rules or you have a team that damn well sure is going to make sure you follow them. Why do normie runners want to feel special and act like these rules apply to them?
