I think you should divide each super shoes into target marathon time which those shoes are suitable with. For example I think Cielo X1 is great option for sub 330 - sub 4 because of its comfort and protection, even with its bounce can hit sub 315 imo. Sky paris should be option for sub 3 and lower ...
Cielo is my fav, out of this and my Vaporfly. Hoka should have given you guys the new white colorway to show off. Great video, can’t wait to see more of these. John puts too much weight…in the heft of the shoe. The Vaporfly weight and Speedsky aren’t whats keeping him from breaking through, a lot of people mental box themselves like this. We aren’t comparing an invincible 3 vs the adidas EVO. He could do it with more focus on training, and less mental fatigue.
I'm a huge Adizero Pro 3 fan, recently got the Metaspeed Sky Paris, I love it, but I don't think it's a marathon shoe. For me, it's more a 5k, 10k and half shoe. Hoping the Adizero Pro 4 will be released soon 🙏
Great review! Listening to the Metaspeed Sky Paris reviews, it sounds like the common factor is that the plate takes away a bit of the "softness", so it would be really interesting to hear what they would say about the Metaspeed Edge Paris, as that to my undestanding has the carbon plate lower in the foam and therefore should feel a bit softer. The Sky has the plate higher and therefore it makes sense that one can feel more of the plate. I am planning to go to a local Asics store in a few days to see if I can test both of them myself to get a feel of this difference.
Have the older Metaspeed edge + the OG Sky and the MEP now, The Edge Paris is great so far at 14m race test. It's very aggressive ie stiff/ and rockered I'll prbably use it for me on a Marathon. LMK how you get along with either?
I have both the Vaporfly 3 and Cielo X1. I do have to say Hoka really protects your legs and a great training shoe. Vaporfly is good for speed but I prefer Hoka
Intersting with all the hyper the paris isnt chosen! I sure wish the Edge was thrown in BUT they are more similar than not from what I read? Only have the edge Paris.
Like these types of videos but if this was a test of the "best" super shoes, the AlphaFly 3 would be included. It has to be #1 or 2 for sure (if you can get a pair). Maybe the sizes were not available at the time of testing...
@@liiou4445 For sure! I'll bet they didn't have the shoes to test. I had a chance to buy the last time RW had them but just could not pull the trigger for $500 hard earned $$$.
@@Fozzee.1970 If you actually listen to the video, at the end they ask, which shoe for a MARATHON. Yeah, AlphaFly 3 is possibly the best and yeah, its super fast too. Currently WR shoe for 26.2
Evo Pro 1 is not accessible to majority of people atm which makes it reasonable for not being here but, I don't understand why DNE 3 not in the test lineup.
The DNE 3 is a great pick! It's so hard because there are so many great super shoes currently on the market. Hopefully we can feature even more super shoe options in a future video! -Connor
@@edwinduisburg8138 "Best Super Shoes of 2024" is the video. Which other super shoe model then for Asics for the marathon?????? LOL The AlphaFly 3 is the WR marathon shoe right now. Its definitely a shoe that would be considered one of, if not, the best super shoes in the world for 26.2. VF, AF and MetaSpeed are the clear leaders for the marathon, nothing else is there yet. Have you run in any of these or even the marathon distance? If so, you would know that AF3 is probably the best out there.
@@edwinduisburg8138 My logic is to include the BEST marathon super shoe of 2024. That is the AF 3, not another Asics shoe. You do realize that the AF3 is the WR shoe for 26.2 right? VF, AF and Metaspeed are the 3 best rn.
It's interesting that every list of 'top' shoes is a bit different. I haven't seen anyone mention them on any list but I've never in all my years had a shoe fit so perfect as the Noosa Tri 15 out of the box. I'm super picky about shoe fit and needing a break in period but the Tri 15 is just perfect out of the box. It's too bad the 16 is so much different, I really don't like that 'break-in' period of lack of comfort.
The 16 is so much different? How? From the looks of it it should be FF Blast+ midsole and other colours. What else changed (it is also supposed to be a bit softer than the 15 - which i have and is considered to be harder than the 14 (which is supposed to be the same as the Evoride 3 but with different upper. @@saikame5833 well, if it‘s "only" that, even better for me, since my feet are on the lower end of medium width + very low instep und very low volume! I might consider trying them on if a nicer colourway gets available

@@MS33496it kinda is true. Beginning runners dont need carbon racing shoes. They are specifically designed and made for elite runners. Plus shoes are a 1% gain. Where as diet, recovery and correct training all give huge % gains in comparison to shoes. So for beginners theres literally no point in getting carbon racing shoes. Youd see much more progress from actually increasing mileage and doing structured training
The Nike Vaporfly 3 is less aggressive and less propulsive than previous models. It’s pretty obvious when you run in the shoe. Sagusu running on UA-cam did a great video on this it’s called “Why is the Nike Vaporfly Next% 2 still here”
@@joshuacourtright4876 Agree, BUT this is also why more runners like the 3 I think as it's more mellow but still a good full marathon shoe.
