I love that you can hear the bass in Haken, all their albums are mixed quite well so you get to hear all the great things that Connor brings into the music.
Yeah, the mixes always manage to showcase all of the instruments equally. Helps that Nolly who produced Virus and Vector is a phenomenal bass player in his own right too.
@@alexburchell1891 100% agree, 1 of the reasons I can appreciate everyone individually in the group, I really like every memeber that's been in Haken, even Diego, while he had his own thing going on it fit well with the group sound.
Yea huge reason why I love them as a fellow bassist. It’s not just hearing literally everything that makes me love them…we’ll actually, I think that IS why I do haha they make sure the listener hears EVERYTHING and it’s absolutely captivating and what I consider REAL music.
I think it's great that each part of Mess comp has a different reference/s, but also while they are obvious they mixed them in a different way so that it sounds different very reminicent of the way the premonition was written for visions.
@@andytran47 it’s in tons of their songs. There’s even moments where keys and voice are doing it too. I only recently became aware of it after 3 years of listening lol.
the envy i have for this bass playing is unreal xD great job btw :D by far my favourite bassist out there. its criminal that haken isnt bigger than what they are tbh ^^
Not sure what kind of witchcraft is necessary to not only have that playing ability, but for a bass tuned to F# to have such clarity (never heard anything like it - and I have a dingwall and decent gear myself) as well... Just glad we're all able to experience it. Looking forward to the tour!
When I tried to transcribe The Scent, it blew my mind how difficult and insane the technique is and I was really hoping that I was wrong and there’s another way of playing it that would make more sense. Well, unfortunately, I wasn’t 😳

The entire passage in The Architect is magistral.

Still one of my favourite songs from them. Its literally "The Haken Song". Full of eastereggs and nods. And that smooth playing of course :)

Phenomenal song, so bad that they broke it into parts
1:48 that bit blew my mind
He's doing that thing people do with guitars to screw around, except he actually makes it sound good!
That’s the start of Messiah Complex part 4, and it’s honestly my favorite part ever, even tho the whole album is awesome
Makes it look so effortless
For the last 3 days, this section has been looping in my head. Haken's been reading my mind!
That prominent use of unison. Very Haken. Such a great band.
Yes nil by mouth octave unisons came to mind

Yeah it’s sooo prominent. You just keep hearing it more and more lol.
Jesus Christ, the EU Tour will be something else! My first concert in over 7 years, and what a show to dive back into it!
Would love to see a full play-through.
Man, that hybrid picking in the Sect 😅
a different approach from the tab book
As a fellow bass player, that's exactly what blows my mind in this playthrough!
Tnx to adam getgood audio engineering 👌🏻
Good to know the intro to The Sect is as hard as it sounds. That hybrid picking is incredibly cool!
That Marigold riff is one of the coolest riffs ever.
The way that "the sect" sets in leaves absolutely everyone and their dogs banging their head
full playthrough of Messiah Complex PLSSS
Conner = the BEST

Brilliant Conner! That bass is a beauty!
Oh, Conner. You beautiful, magnificent groove-making beast. AWESOME job!!!
Hope they will play this in the upcoming tour!
I think this is a quite obvious hint in that direction.
I'm going to see your show in Luxembourg 19.03.2023. im super hyped already 🤘
damn - technique, sound, tone. legit. Awesome to see it played .
That bass tone is fkn wild
What a killer, beastmode bass-sound!
Seeing you guys in June in Chicago! I know you'll be touring Fauna, but damn would it be awesome if you played this for an encore!
I finally tried to learn some of this and holy crap ❤❤ it’s fast
Incredible performance, I love it.
I just entered the MATRIX with this song. I dont know where to begin.
increíble !!!
that was really good conner
Damn, I’ve always loved Haken and knew they all can obviously play incredibly but the bass play through is next level. Hats off.
this looks sooooo fun to play omg
Watching you playing this wonderful song is simply amazing! Can’t wait to see you in Milan (19 march) together with my two sons! 🤟
Whenever I listen to this song I come up with a movie in my head 🤘😂
That was great - thanks for sharing!
This is sick as fuck. And that tone is killer. God I hope I one day can get a Dingwall. Beautiful cover mate well done.
Really nice!
this is sick
Huge cat tower in the mirror on the left
Jesus the breakdown part. I’m not worthy

Note to add - I do think he's back to not using the low F# strong here, but still, it was crazy to see in person on the last tour hah
Yeah he just has it at B and uses the xtender key to drop to A when needed.
When I tried to transcribe The Scent, it blew my mind how difficult and insane the technique is and I was really hoping that I was wrong and there’s another way of playing it that would make more sense. Well, unfortunately, I wasn’t 😳
I bet that he wrote the riff 🔥🔥🔥
man that's some tricky fingering, great damn playing.
FUCKING LOVE this section of the song, man. I don't even play bass but this shit definitely makes me want to learn it!!
This dude kills, shame he's just a barista at Starbucks....
Many super talented musicians playing prog have a "regular" job to make a living. Sad but true.
I think he likes to play bass
Our band has been working on a cover of the full suite. And god damn guys I think the sect riff is the hardest part, even over glutton
Hybrid picking on a bass... Cool!
How do you guys write this stuff 😅
Is it a conspiracy theory to suggest that Connor Green is actually an alien from the planet Basstopia?
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤❤
Jesus, the precision
Neato 👍
Is this a taste of what is coming on the tour? Really would enjoy this one live.
It's all the Messiah Complex - you can't listen to one without wanting to start from Part I
“Ladies and gentlemen, on the bass guitar, Mr. Connor Green!” -Ross on L+1VE
bro i desperately need tabs for the intro to the sect
smashing, brother... all dead in the pocket!
WOAH
Wooow
little easter egg on the right (the reddi is a beast of a di)
DUDE
What are these BUTT vocals with these masterful riffs?
Debateable. But that’s the actual vocalist track from the album. To each their own.
ummmm is it supposed to cut out like that?
Yes
@@isaiahmumaw but there's another minute in the song
@@reibarata the video title says it’s only movements 3 and 4
@@isaiahmumaw why are you gaslighting me
Now, that's what I mean when I say college campus Starbucks barista
Your bass but fretless 🤯
Not bad, but can he play... Tom Sawyer!?!?!?!?!?
