He was my favorite growing up! Still a favorite of mine, but also tied with so many other breeds and mixed breeds, 😂 now that I'm older and know much more about Al different types of dogs..it's hard to choose just one favorite! I also love so many kinds of cats too! Animals (other than humans😅) are the best!

German shepherds are my most favourite dog. Absolutely love them and hate how they have such a bad reputation cause they are so intelligent and so easy to train

Specify easy to train for people who know how to train (because people not qualified will see that and assume they could handle it no problem!) Sadly, too many idiots think they can handle working breeds or believe they can make it fit with their lifestyle (when their lifestyle doesn't fit) and then the best dogs end up in shelters or end up being put down. Drives me crazy how some people can just buy animals and get rid of them..and they never learn either! When you get an animal, you should always think of it as family and raise it as such ansearn everything you an about dog body language communication and the specific breed..and when I see people totally unprepared that have a dog breed they absolutely have no business even being near, it sucks. Like when people think it's cute when their dog resource gaurds (or whatever the term is) a member of the family..that it's cute or funny and it can become a major issue that seriously affects daily life. (mentioning it because of one of the clips in this video)
@@TheKatarinaGiselle firstly, you don't know me or what experience I have had with this breed, so please do not try to include me in your rant. Secondly, my best friend was a German Shepherd called Scooby and he and I were linked at the hip. Where ever I went, he went. He was the easiest dog to train and I was only a teenager with no experience with training whatsoever, as long as I gave him his ball or favourite toy after doing something right, he was always happy to do something I asked. I never shouted at him for doing something wrong but always made it like a game for him. I could put my arm in his mouth and you would never have seen any marks from his teeth on my skin, he was that gentle.
If a dog, or any animal is shown love and trust, they will repay that in floods.
@@alexlover76 understand totally what your'e saying and couldn't agree more with their eagerness to please and never needing to shout at them (and the shame they've got such a bad rep.!) but I also have to agree with @TheKatarinaGiselle too. I've got a 'rescue' GS (England) and he was just a year old when I picked him up from a loving family. He had learnt, instinctually, so many bad habits and not properly trained during his first 12 months... he is now 4 and only recently able to be off the lead and socialise with other dogs. (Its been a long to get him to what most would expect as a standard of obedience) Labradors and Spaniels etc.. are easy to train. My GS is unlike any dog I've ever trained. If GS, and other intelligent breeds like Collies etc... are to become the alpha, its hard to break their domineering/herding nature.The first 12 months are crucial in their upbringing/training. I'm no professional, only have experience and growing up with dogs.
Too many people during lockdown got dogs and had little thought about how much of a lifestyle change it would be... Anyway, just wanted to share this and my thoughts! (not meaning to sound patronising either)! Its good to all have our say and it was interesting reading both your comments. Take care.

I have had German Shepherds since I was 7 and I am 55. Two times my German Shepherds have saved me. I will never be without one.
Oh god i love a shepherd. I swear they are the perfect dog. So intelligent which gets them into trouble but they learn, unlike the husky who will get into whatever they can over and over. Shepherds are loyal and pleasers and learns their humans behavior and modify theirs accordingly.

I had a Heinz 57 and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They were quite the double act. I lived near two schools and every September when school started they'd bark at the kids walking to school. After a couple of days they twigged that it was a regular occurrence and settled down. The Heinz was very alert. The very mention of the word "walk" would set him off, wanting to go out. Eventually we had to use a word with the same meaning as walk to put him off the scent, so to speak.
lost Alpine almost two years ago beautiful soul and oh so loyal. getting old wish I could get another Shepard but alas couldnt keep up if tried : (

I had a Shepard collie years ago and one time my kids asked me what time it is and I said the is 4 o’clock. My dog jumped up off her wag bag because she heard it’s time for a walk !
I use to put my finger in my dog's mouth when he was about to howl and I did not want him to. he stopped but was proper annoyed at me for it.
Those two people that let their dogs challenge them like that are what is going to make the next news story. (Mom reaching fo the child and couple trying to kiss)

Sure! as adults we can have toys again! It's all laughs when the dog chews the pillow (2:23). A few days later, the vet shows you why the dog can't poop properly - the Xray will show pillow stuffing in the intestines. Does the dog owner understand why the dog is so restless? My dogs never did that because I walk and play with them on a regulary basis.
The woman laughing when the dogs growled at her when she tried to pick up her baby is being foolishly irresponsible. She should put a firm stop to that behaviour right now.

@@Bellymeatman I've had dogs for years, and trained them. I know dogs inside out, and what that woman is doing is allowing those dogs to display aggressive behaviour towards a human; and that should never be allowed, or encouraged. Especially not around children.

I couldn't agree more! I had Shepherds for over 35 years. Aggressive behavior like that can lead to LOTS of problems in the future. By letting him do that, you're telling him it’s okay. He's smart! Train him!

Some are highly concerning in psychological regards. The baby clip, barking at your dog or destroying clips. They are showing that the dogs have training issues, boredom, dominance problems ect. And you dont challenge your nice obidient dog with aggressive barking...

IMO bet of breed. I had a white GS was like a human.
Some of these behaviors show poor training and a lack of socialization. GSDs are the best, but they require some teaching. My dog will bark, but she would never growl at us. They love to bite for everything. You have to break that habit early.
Big dogs are often dumber than small dogs, but that's why I like them
That's not good behavior. I love Shepherds but Giant Schnauzers are superior dogs. But maybe the issue isn't the dog.
