    One thing in all time and in all space we can get (or we are) with ZERO effort is awareness, it's unconditional for everything else we must do something no matter how little it may be

    I feel so light and tranquil after doing this. And somehow immediately after this, things and people that I see everyday seemed new. Thank you, Sunny. Your teachings are always very insightful and very comprehensible as well.

    Thank you so much, 🙏🙏. “You’re not the ‘person’ looking, you are the looking itself.” Mind always sets up this subtle delusion of ‘finding’ awareness. Sri Bhagavan Ramana points to this very thing when He says: Summa Iru (Be Still, Be Quiet).
    🙏🌸🙏

    Very inspiring! I didn't expect a young person to have such a level of wisdom. You're making it very simple and accessible. I get easily distracted, I'll try again.

    ok. w 👀 w . reached a new level of restful awareness with the way it was worded: rest as awareness. ie just as fire is not thinking hot, it's not doing hot, it *is* hot, so we are awareness.
    🔥
    This concept is hot 😁 .

    Thank you! My "doing" mind is appreciating you. I have been doing a dedicated practice of resting in awareness for a few months and using the headspace ap as guidance, but they did not explain what I was doing (just indicated to let the mind be free). In the last few months, I have developed the ability to feel "like there is no boundary to my outer body" and am able to rest in being. But I found it hard to maintain in daily life/action for more than ten seconds. After watching this video, I had an unworldly experience of seeing myself outside myself after you said, "You are the looking at the person - of its world". Wow. So powerful. Knowing all but looking and knowing are "doing" is powerful. I am looking forward to incorporating it into my daily life/actions with your guidance - subscribed! Thank you! Be well!

    Hi Sunny, this video is very helpful to me. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. 🦋
    I cannot seem to watch myself think because my thinking stops when I do this. I haven’t yet been aware of being aware while having a thought, unless without knowing I was in that state. Your term “resting” in awareness is helpful because try so hard to have no thoughts that sometimes I can’t tell if I’m having no thoughts in the right way, as maybe I am I just freezing my thoughts from occurring with tension. It seems like there are some results from turning off my mind with tension, but I know that it’s limited, I think because this tension can take the place of thoughts(another way of being unaware than thinking). Animals have egos, and they don’t think in words. All four of my pets absolutely have delicate ego’s, and jealousy of each other, and insecurities, & worries, but they have no words, this makes me wonder what other ways ego manifests other than words, -are they also using mere tension to keep a separate self in place? Can energies take the place of words allowing the ego to live on? Can songs that just play in the mind(with words or no words) be the ego staying alive? There’s maybe a sweet spot when it comes to music where it’s helpful when it’s fresh experience, but to move on to other music or just something else other than what’s repetitive?

    Sonny, this really resonated, this was rest.
    I found mind thinking less, as i just rested as awareness. I didn’t want to stop, it felt so peaceful.
    I will do this every day.

    Is this the same as resting in the "I am"? I keep trying to do both because I have been resting as "I am" lately and now I'm confused as to which one I should do.

      well see if you can find a difference between the two experientially. Always just verify these things for yourself in your experience.

    Isn’t this just an exercise of self-inquiry? Consciously deciding to be aware of being aware? Which naturally takes “you” into the question “Who’s being aware”? “Who’s doing the observing”?

  • @tashilhamu4510
    @tashilhamu4510 3 роки тому

    Im sorry sunny im sorry im spamming ur videos. But this “resting as awareness” is just not practical. Mooji says the same thing and i followed it diligently because i can actually maintain that state for long time due to a kind of enlightenment but everytime i do so for a whole day, i can’t sleep at night and i wake up groggy

    • @selfinquiryschool
      @selfinquiryschool  3 роки тому

      Then don't do it for the whole day. Do so only for 30 mins to begin with, that's all

    • @tashilhamu4510
      @tashilhamu4510 3 роки тому

      @@selfinquiryschool but don’t you agree too that it is to be done the whole day. I mean wha’s the point of meditating for 30 mins in morning. Will a day come when i can do it the whole day without sleep problems

    • @selfinquiryschool
      @selfinquiryschool  3 роки тому +1

      No I don’t agree that this is to be done the whole day. Daily life requires you to think, feel, and act. To carry out your daily duties, you must act fully “as a person.” However this practice shifts your understanding of what you are; it makes you aware of the silence beneath and within the noise. It dissolves identification with the thinking, feeling, acting. They are no longer taken to be what I am.

    • @tashilhamu4510
      @tashilhamu4510 3 роки тому

      @@selfinquiryschool resting in awareness and doing thinking feeling are not exclusive. One can rest there and carry on daily duties...thats what ramana or any other sage did or does. Thats what is known as sadhana. Only 30 minutes is a very layman thing nothing spiritual about it. Hence teachers like krishnamurti etc. despised those who sat for 30 mins in the morning and did their usual egoic activities rest of the day. One has to operate from it and a day will come when one will automatically be in that state when all ego will die out. Thats what they call enlightenment or nirvikalpa samadhi or an arhat(fully awakened). Thats what i read and assume.

    • @selfinquiryschool
      @selfinquiryschool  3 роки тому +5

      If resting as awareness still feels like “a practice” to be done or not done, then yes they are exclusive. So if that’s the case, let it be so. Practice at least for however long as you can. And if you really believe in the teaching of those people you just mentioned, then be one pointed about your purpose and follow their teaching fully. So what if sleep is lost? Let it be so. Let go of these mental objections against the teaching. Continue on with the pointer and see it through
