Home Free vs Filharmonic in the Sing-Off actually did battle with "I'm Alright". You absolutely have to see it. They were an Acapella Boy band that were good but struggling against the other groups. After the battle, the judges commented on how much working with HF brought out of them. In my opinion, while not as polished as this, I like it more.
The Sing Off 4 Face Off - Home Free vs. The Filharmonic is definitely a great example of a battle/collaboration. It's a live performance for the show, so no post production (or funny teeth) 😂 ua-cam.com/video/6XOyYCIKQ34/v-deo.html
I agree. If I remember correctly, every week on the SingOff, the 2 lowest vote-getting groups had to go head-to-head against each other in a "singoff" in order to stay in the competition. In case they were in the bottom 2, the groups had to have a version of the selected song kind of ready to go should they need it. Home Free managed to avoid the bottom, except the week when they and Filharmonic "battled" each other, because ALL of the groups were paired off and all were required to do a singoff that week. The plan was to eliminate 1 group out of each pairing (there were 6 groups so 3 pairings) and the bottom 2 groups would both be eliminated that week. But Home Free and Filharmonic did so well that they were both safe and the judges ended up eliminating 2 other groups instead. I think part of the success story for the "I'm Alright" pairing was their approach to make it entertaining for the audience instead of "battling" and trying to outdo or show each other up. They made it a cohesive performance that had the audience standing and cheering by the end. The performance we just watched here was the result of 2 groups who got to know each other (and toured together after the contest was over) who didn't get to use their 'performance' of this particular song so they made a UA-cam video for their audience to enjoy anyway. Home Free also did that when they recorded "Bye, bye, bye" which was another 'just-in-case' singoff song that Home Free never got to sing so they filmed it and posted it after the contest for the fans to enjoy. All of these are less polished than the groups are currently because it was back in the 'earlier' days but still enjoyable as well as hilarious.
I also thought she should react to this Sing-Off battle right after seeing this reaction :) and for many groups singing together, the Sing Off openings were also amazing :)
The Filharmonic ended up getting hired by the Late Late show where they would do the backing music for the riff-offs James Corden had with visiting musical guests.
Voiceplay vs Home Free!?!? NOOOOOOO!!! Do NOT make me choose between them!!!! They're both outstanding and I refuse to pick a favorite or winner! (they need to do more collaborations!!)
Hello Elizabeth! I'm again helplessly hoping that you will react to/analyze Home Free's "Helplessly Hoping." It's so beautiful and I'm sure you'll love it!
I think it’s required to use “Thriller” moves in any zombie music video made after the ‘80s. I wish Voiceplay and Home Free would make another video together. This one is so great.
More HomeFree Recommendations - "Honey I'm Good" (Another where Rob is the lead) or for comedy, "Champagne Taste (On a beer budget)". If I recall correctly, Tim wrote the latter.
I've seen a few requests for Home Free's Elvira, and yes definitely do that, but it would be super cool if you could react to VoicePlay's live version at the same time! HF actually was inspired by VP's version, and they had Geoff arrange their version for them, so it would be super cool to do a side by side reaction.
Yes! "I'm All Right" might just be one of the best performances of that season. This is actually also from the Sing-Off. Survivor was one of the ultimate sing-off elimination songs for... episode 4 or 5, I don't remember. Obviously, everyone had to learn it, even though only two groups were going to have to use it. HF & VP joked about doing it Zombies vs Hillbillies style if they went head-to-head, but both of them were sent safe to the next round, so they revived the idea for The Sing-Off Tour. But, yes. I totally second the recommendation of "I'm All Right". It was phenomenal.
I love it when these group collaborate, and there were many great collaborations born out of the sing-off. 'I'm alright' (Home Free & Filharmonic) is one. Voiceplay also worked with a few members of Filharmonic with their song 'Talk Dirty'. But a more recent collaboration (that doesn't seem to get the recognition it deserves.) is 'Just Sing'. For this song, recorded at the beginning of lock-down, Voiceplay invited just about everyone they ever worked with to join them. Watch it with captions to see who's who.
You should check out Voiceplay's "Just Sing" if you like collaborative videos. It has a bunch of guests from Voiceplay's past and new collabs. It's fantastic, watch it with the Closed captioning and it will tell you who everyone is (HUGE cast of people). I think you'll really enjoy this one.
Another cool voiceplay colab is their song "Just Sing". Also, again, I'd recommend Voiceplay ft/Ashley Diane "If I were a rich man/girl". It's so good.
Always excited to see your reactions to both homefree and voiceplay! Definitely my favorite reaction channel because I like how you break down the concepts and techniques in the videos, I would really like to see a reaction to Voiceplays ‘We’re good’ and Homefree ‘Helplessly hoping’, my current favorites from each group.
Also super-ultra-mega-hilarious: Kidnap the Sandy Claws (Voiceplay with Rachel Potter). Besides being brilliantly sung and acted, all in costume and when you refresh the scene from the movie... It has been very nicely mimicked!
Elizebeth. I have just discovered your channel over the last couple of days and WOW. You do such a great job of breaking down what is going on....its amazing. YES....you have an amazing ear but the thing I love the most out of the video's is your eye and mouth expressions.......You have such amazing facial expression from brow to eyes to amazing smiles and laughter. I imagine you are a wonderful person to have as a friend and to have coffee with. Keep up the great video's. I am enjoying them a lot.
I know you have just done Vocieplay but I would love to see a reaction to their new cover of Rich Man. It is great to see Cesar being a permanent addition to the group. I've some other detailed reactions to it but I just keeping wanting to hear your take on it.
What i love most about voice play and home free is how much fun they have when setting up and filming these amazing videos and then there is tim and geoff and their rich deep voices but not to take away from the other amazing vocals from the rest just phenomenal music all around
Can you react to VoicePlay's cover of If I were a rich man/girl, Bang!, Butter, Carry On Wayward Son, Boy Bands in 5 minutes and Queen in 5 minutes, and Home Free's Sea Shanty Medley, Hillbilly Bone, End of the Road, Blue Ain't your color, All About that Bass and Elvira
Sonic confections, mixed with fun makeup/outfits, that Elizabeth can't resist. So many harmonies and vocal layerings. Her brain had to be working almost as fast as on Wintersun.
VoicePlay, Home Free, Voctave, and Peter Hollens are all stars to me, their focus on community and collaboration is unmatched! Please please please review Geoff's version of Misty Mountains!
Great choice Elizabeth! You're so cool, Always a treat when you're having fun while sharing one of your picks & or any of the other requests.. Fairly new to listening to this kind of music but throughly enjoyed it. Take care Darlin I've made some requests but will hold off for a bit before continuing to request them as I truly think you'll appreciate the vocals along with the music of my requests..
Love whenever you react to voiceplay. Simply the best analysis on UA-cam. You should definitely react to voiceplay's cover of Kiss. One of their most underappreciated covers.
They did a cover of Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues during the height of the pandemic that I think many would love to see your reaction to. I believe they recorded everything from their own homes and put it all together in post. It's truly phenomenal.
Hi Elizabeth, this is my first time listening to this song and I loved the performance. It's a tough choice to choose between two of my favorite A Cappella groups, but as a fan of both, it's a tie for me (however, I do love VoicePlay's incredible zombie make-up). Thank you, Elizabeth!!! 💙
Thank you for the reaction Elizabeth. This was a very enjoyable video on so many different levels. I think we could all use a little more humor in our lives about now. Maybe a lot more humor. More unicorn videos would also be great. Please stay safe.
I definitely hope to see more Home Free reactions, I've loved all the ones you've done! There's just so much HF to discover and the songs are all amazing. My favorite HF arrangements are How Great Thou Art and Do You Hear What I Hear. (The latter was arranged by Adam Rupp and it's a masterpiece, trust me.) They are a bit older, but they just stand out to me. Very different in styles, but both are incredible and for music geeks like me, they have a lot of cool stuff going on.
Voiceplay's videos usually have the make-up and characters on point. Home Free videos usually have some sort of funny spin to them. When you group them together, this is what you get
Oh my gosh, I love this one so much! It shows both groups abilities and strengths, and it's a lot of fun to watch. 💖🔥 Honey has a good voice, but I don't think it fits with VoicePlay. Giving her the lead during the competition was a mistake, and it costed them dearly, in my opinion. They also performed it live during the Sing-Off tour, after the show, with Emoni instead of Honey. Thanks for doing this reaction, Elizabeth! 💖
This one is fantastic! There’s so much going on with the vocals and percussion! The makeup is phenomenal!! I never knew the story behind the song. That’s interesting! Love your enthusiasm!! Both groups are extremely talented and my 2 favorite A Capella groups!
Probably a long shot, but have you ever listened to Kidnap the Sandy Claws by VoicePlay ft Rachel Potter? I think you've reacted to all their TNBC songs but that one, and I vaguely remember you mentioning preferring not to react to songs you'd already heard so there'd be that genuine reaction to it. I'd love to see a reaction vid to that song either way, if possible. I love hearing your insights!
I'm betting some others have said this, but Honey actually sang with Voiceplay when they were on the Sing-Off in... season 4? I think? Same season Home Free won. Entertainingly enough, Pentatonix won season 3, and while they didn't win, the group Peter Hollins was with (On the Rocks from Oregon) was in season 2. Lots of talent in that show.
Oh, yes!!! Another a cappella reaction! This song is quite fun and special! Now we need you to react to VoicePlay‘s „Frozen 2 Medley“ and their „Go The Distance“ ! These are in my opinion the two best VoicePlay videos that you haven’t reacted to yet. And for Halloween you have to react to their final Nightmare before Christmas song, „Kidnap the sandy claws“! That one‘s definitely in my personal top 5 VoicePlay songs.
@@marshayoung9387 That’s exactly the reason why I want to see her react to it! She‘s saying actual interesting things about the music and the production. If you don’t like this deep analysis kind of style, I don’t think this is the Right Channel for you...
These two groups were both on Season 4 of The Sing-Off and this was one of the songs all the groups had to prepare in case they were in the bottom two. Neither of these groups had to sing it that week, but after the competition, they decided to film their version and this is what they came up with. You should definitely consider reacting to Home Free's Sing-Off performances, preferably with the judges' comments. Don't forget to include their battle with Filharmonic. It was great!
This was a Sing Off match-up. I think that Home Free won the match, but VoicePlay did a magnificent job. Honey was one of the original members of Voice Play. Only three of the original six are still in the group: Layne, Geoff, and Eli. I have wondered how Austin managed to sing so well with those teeth. Must be his amazing talent. The Sing Off match between Home Free and Filharmonic was also fun.
Yes, I was coming down here to comment on it. I didn't recognize the name when Elizabeth mentioned Honey, but recognized seeing her. From listening to Voiceplay recently, I remembered hearing their name from the Sing Off and wondering why I hadn't noticed them much, so I went back to watch their performances. They were just not as good then. Honey was their lead singer all the time, with the rest kind of as back-up, and she has a style/tone to her voice that I don't really like. And Geoff had not developed his much lower range yet, so he didn't stand out at all.
@@whoarocketyeah, VoicePlay has come a long way since the Sing Off... Also, I read somewhere that the folks in charge of the show basically set them up to basically be Honey and a backup group, which did them a great disservice. I feel like they were set up to lose in some ways.
UA-cam suggested your analysis of The Oggie Boogie song. After watching that I checked out your channel and was delighted to find that your latest VoicePlay reaction was to my favorite track. And I especially liked how you go back and point out lots of the stuff going on.
I Love your reactions. The joy in the music when you hear something new, and then we can almost see the wheels turning in your mind as you try to discover how it was done. I hope you react to Home Free's cover of "Helplessly Hoping", but since it is a relatively short song maybe you could do a twofer, and also react to Crosby, Stills,& Nash original of it. Both versions are nothing short of Brilliant.
Here early to spamming you about doing reactions to *Charlotte Wessels'* work, both with *Delain* , and as a recent solo artist. She's a brilliant vocalist and performer. For Delain, I'd suggest *"Burning Bridges"* and *"Here Come the Vultures"* ; for solo, I'd suggest *"Superhuman"* and *"Soft Revolution"* .
I saw this was going to be premiered and started cackling. For a recommendation, I could write a novel but for simplicities sake I'm goin to say Just Sing, by Voiceplay or Everybody walking this land by Home Free
Thank you for this video! I had so much fun watching the original and even more seeing your reaction, enjoyment and analysis of it! The video "Just sing" that someone suggested already really is one I'd love to see your reaction to. Thank you for all your analysis and reactions. It makes me appreciate the music even more.
I often forget about this one! Hilarious! I love Tim's crying and reaching out at the very end. We've all seen little kids that do that and Tim just nails it!
It's obvious that this was recorded separately by both groups and mixed together, but they actually did this live together on "The Sing Off Tour". ... Guy
My current favourite jam is VoicePlay's If I was a Rich Man/Girl and In certain you would absolutely love to break that down, and I'm sure we'd all love for you to do so! For Home Free I agree with those recommending their Face Off with the Filharmonics - I'm Alright, which is brilliant, or their cover of Crazy, where Austin sings in the same key as Patsy Kline! Great reaction, Elizabeth! Thank you!
Your passion and knowledge make all your analyses so enjoyable! I’m not very well versed in a capella to make great recommendations in that regard, but I think you’d enjoy Opeth In my Time of Need from their Red Rocks show (same as your Ghost of Perdition analysis.) Such an emotional song, and great crowd involvement too. My Charismatic Voice merch arrived last Friday and I love it! Three shirts and the sticker sheet.
I'd love to see you react to Jonathan Young. I think you'd be completely blown away by him. A great place to start would be his cover of Hellfire from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. A good follow-up to that is his collab cover of Bells of Notre Dame with Caleb Hyles. Still, one cover of his that just kills me with how funny it is would be his cover of In the Dark of the Night from Anastasia. It is such a goofy source material, but the way he just slams right into it is spectacular, and I love it. Also Misty Mountains and I See Fire are amazing from him... but if you're looking to get away from his clickbait covers of songs, I recommend his original song Land of the Living.
This and the Home Free/Filharmonic (in the Sing Off competition) collaborations are so much fun. Aside from their phenomenal talent, Home Free's humor sets them apart from other groups out there. I also loved the mix of Voiceplay with Honey LaRochelle. I hope they connect with her again at some point on their journey.
As Elizabeth was talking about the arrangement and production, I went back to the original video to see who was credited and it says: VoicePlay Arr: Death Cas"Dead"lucci Home Free Arr: Rob's Beard LOLOL
The VoicePlay performance that I'd really love to see you take a look at is their "Queen In 5 Minutes". The combination of storytelling in the video and immaculate singing blows me away every time I listen.
If you remember the movie "Zanadu". you might remember the Tubes VS an old swing band and how at the end they bring both styles of music together and it's really amazing. If you haven't looked at that, it's a wonderful experience of the younger generation Vs the older generation, the idea that if they listen to each other, they might both learn something.
This is such a fun video and "battle". You should definitely put VoicePlay's version of True Colors and Geoff's version of Blackbird on your list of reactions. :)
You want more vs. videos? You should check out one of a few 'Peter Hollens Vs. Anthony Vincent' ones. The first one they did was: '24 Genres. Two Artists. One song - Shape of You Ed Sheeran' They then did 'laddin's "Friend Like Me" In Every Musical Style EVER' and a couple others. Peter also did a few Disney Movie song ones where the characters compete with those in other movies with covers of the songs. He got his wife to help with that one.
This was just after HF won the sing-off . They performed it the first time on the -- Sing-Off tour , all 3 groups HF / VoicePlay / The Filharmonic also sang a version of Hallejulah and of course the Beatbox colab NOT A BEATBOX FACE--OFF

@The Charismatic Voice please review "Inspire the Liars" by Dance Gavin Dance. They have two singers. One who sings and one who screams. They are an entirely unique band and the clean singer is beyond amazing.
A recommendation, eh? Well, recently, I found this. You've probably heard of Leo Moracchioli of Frogleap Studios. This is his metal cover of What Is Love by Haddaway. Awesome, right? Well, it features a lady called Priscilla Serrano. Keep an ear on her, particularly towards the end. ua-cam.com/video/DKo9ok2829M/v-deo.html I think you'll agree, she deserves more than the 2.5k or so subscribers she has. Just incredible.
We just released merchandise! Check out the full line-up here: thecharismaticmerch.com
"Cause my zombie taught me better then that." The subtle lyric changes are hilarious and I'm surprised she didn't catch it.
That and the bgs from HF with "see you later alligator".
Voice Play's "Just Sing" is a phenomenal multi person collaboration. When you watch it, turn on subtitles for explanations of who everyone is.
Yes! A great collaboration that doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
I totally agreed and hope she makes a vid reacting to it
I love that collab. The subs are definitely required.
It's so much fun!
Yes one of my favorites from last year
Home Free vs Filharmonic in the Sing-Off actually did battle with "I'm Alright". You absolutely have to see it. They were an Acapella Boy band that were good but struggling against the other groups. After the battle, the judges commented on how much working with HF brought out of them. In my opinion, while not as polished as this, I like it more.
YES! That's the first thing I thought, was OMG if she loves this, she HAS to react to the I'm Alright battle!
The Sing Off 4 Face Off - Home Free vs. The Filharmonic is definitely a great example of a battle/collaboration. It's a live performance for the show, so no post production (or funny teeth) 😂
ua-cam.com/video/6XOyYCIKQ34/v-deo.html
I agree. If I remember correctly, every week on the SingOff, the 2 lowest vote-getting groups had to go head-to-head against each other in a "singoff" in order to stay in the competition.
Anyone else notice that, over the years, Tim and Geoff seem to have traded haircuts?
And they both look much better for it, in my opinion.
lol
😆
Voiceplay vs Home Free!?!? NOOOOOOO!!! Do NOT make me choose between them!!!! They're both outstanding and I refuse to pick a favorite or winner! (they need to do more collaborations!!)
Wouldn't that be so much fun
Home Free's "Sea Shanty Medley" is a fun one :) Definitely recommend it.
I am not 100% sure but I think she may have reacted to it, but I may be wrong.
Hello Elizabeth! I'm again helplessly hoping that you will react to/analyze Home Free's "Helplessly Hoping." It's so beautiful and I'm sure you'll love it!
yeees!
Correct.
Home Free vs Filharmonic "I'm alright" from Sing Off ❤
Yes! "I'm All Right" might just be one of the best performances of that season.
This is actually also from the Sing-Off. Survivor was one of the ultimate sing-off elimination songs for... episode 4 or 5, I don't remember. Elizabeth showed the zombies and hillbillies that we can all just get along.
Helplessly Hoping is one of Home Free’s best songs! You simply MUST analyze it! That or Do You Hear What I Hear
Both of them. She will love them and I think be blown away
I'm just waiting for the giggles at the end of VoicePlay's "If I Was A Rich Man/Girl."
When do we get a Tea Time with a Home Free member?!?! 🙏🏽😁
Please take a look at Geoff's cover of Misty Mountains - gorgeous arrangement and he went all-in on the cosplay :)
Just did! It was awesome. Thank you for the suggestion maeco, really made my day! ❤
Another cool voiceplay colab is their song "Just Sing". Also, again, I'd recommend Voiceplay ft/Ashley Diane "If I were a rich man/girl". It's so good.

My favorite thing about this is Adam Rupp's hillbilly dance moves and HF all tilting their heads after Geoff's solo, but the song is fantastic.
There is a live version on UA-cam, this collaboration is from "The Sing Off" after season tour. Helplessly Hoping is one of their best songs ever
It's just amazing to see these two collab !!!

It brightens my day everytime I see you have a new video posted you're a very sweet person and beautiful😊
Geoff Castellucci’s Blackbird and House of the Rising Sun both beautifully showcase his full range from high to low.
just sing is absolutely fantastic and has sooooo many artists involved. definitely worth a watch

Why ? All she'll do is talk through the entire video.
@@marshayoung9387 That’s exactly the reason why I want to see her react to it! She‘s saying actual interesting things about the music and the production. If you don’t like this deep analysis kind of style, I don’t think this is the Right Channel for you...
@@marshayoung9387 We tune in to hear her insights. If you don't want to know what she is thinking, just go to the artist's video and watch it there.
So happy to see this in the reaction queue!!!!
VoicePlay and Geoff Castellucci both have new videos! Please react 😊
I love your reaction to this amazing collab Elizabeth! 🌷
You should do Cecilia Bartoli singing “Agitata Da Due Venti.” One of the best things I’ve ever heard in opera!
And/or her Caro Mio Ben. Utter perfection!
What a great collaboration between the two groups. Love it!
I'd love to see your take on Voiceplay's recent "If I were a rich man/girl."
Cradle of Filth Her Ghost in the Fog...Dani will blow your mind with his vocals...such a range and variety!!
That was hilarious!! Love your reaction and analysis to that fun craziness.
More Home Free reactions pls!
Looking forward to this! For future consideration, some old school a cappella: Billy Joel's "The Longest Time."
Nothing else matters by Metallica the S&M version is amazing
I highly recommend Geoff Castellucci's version of "Misty Mountain Cold", it's literal perfection.
Your such a doll! Love 💘 watching you and your videos! Keep up the great work!
Idk if you have reacted to it yet but I think you should react to Voiceplay's kidnap sandy claws. It's really good and Rachel is in it to
I often forget about this one! Hilarious! I love Tim's crying and reaching out at the very end. We've all seen little kids that do that and Tim just nails it!
It's obvious that this was recorded separately by both groups and mixed together, but they actually did this live together on "The Sing Off Tour". ... Guy
"Kalidia - Frozen Throne" : AAA Tier song about Arthas / Lich king (Warcraft), by an Italian band.
Thank you!
This is such a fun one. Just so creative and funny. Good reaction CV!
OMG. .. love the giggles. The song is so memorabke.
I recommend listening to "I Can't Make You Love Me'. The Best of Bonnie Raitt cd.
Zombies keep on survivin'!! Great changed line in the song. Love this breakdown, love the channel. 💜💜💜
Merciful Faith - Evil
Dire Straits - Tunnel of Love
Ghost - Cirice
Queensryche - Eyes of the Stranger
why that Ghost song? I don't think that's their best. Just me though
@@Johnny_Blaze I found Cirice as their best song. You can disagree with me.
As Elizabeth was talking about the arrangement and production, I went back to the original video to see who was credited and it says:
VoicePlay Arr: Death Cas"Dead"lucci
Home Free Arr: Rob's Beard
LOLOL
The visual on Home Free's teeth is a wonder. The whole things is a devil's hootenanny. I love the teeny little bow and arrow.
The VoicePlay performance that I'd really love to see you take a look at is their "Queen In 5 Minutes". The combination of storytelling in the video and immaculate singing blows me away every time I listen.
This was just pure fun
Really enjoyed watching your reaction to this song. I enjoy watching this video too.
If you remember the movie "Zanadu". you might remember the Tubes VS an old swing band and how at the end they bring both styles of music together and it's really amazing. If you haven't looked at that, it's a wonderful experience of the younger generation Vs the older generation, the idea that if they listen to each other, they might both learn something.
just when I thought you couldn't be more fun. This is priceless

I think you'll agree, she deserves more than the 2.5k or so subscribers she has. Just incredible.
You should do a reaction and analysis on Steelheart I'll Never Let You Go. The vocal range of Miljenko Matijevic to this day is just crazy
if there was ever a vocal performance to react to and analyze , check out sheriff - when i'm with you. it's sure to please.
Ok. Meatloaf's Paradise in the Dashboard Light. Is a theatrical performance. Check it out.
Home Free: Helplessl Hoping = would love to hear your analysis.
Great job on this fun one!
I love Home Free! They're so personable it really makes them so much fun! And I love the country take on an Acapella group!
may i suggest this one: "London Grammar - Rooting For You"
Hello dear Elizabeth, have you ever heard a song by Morrissey? He has an outstanding voice.
