Try "The Road to Serfdom" by Friedrich Hayek. Now there is a book that is almost 1:1 an account of what this whole thing is...and this guy lived through 2 world wars.

I’m coming back to this speech to unpack it fully.
It is just the message that the woke mafia already disposed of. The fact of Woke ideology is the recognition in the younger population that America has a dark past and present. They just latched on to the wrong one. Is BLM's message, the killing of a few dozen black criminals a year by police, the actual crime of the century. What about the murder of countless millions in foreign wars that have basically become institutionalized at this point. The US has a serious purpose that nobody can replace. It has drifted from that purpose, become corrupt, and if it can't right it's ship the world will fall into a dark ages of unprecedented savagery. But the same fairy tales won't fly any more. Maybe only because the young feel burned by 2009. Though the whole world fell under a blizzard of bad US paper, and the US is currently printing an avalanche of worse paper. And you know what they say about that? They can make the rest of the world carry their burden, because the US dollar is the reserve currency. Nobody including it's own citizens really believes in the white hat any more. It will take a lot of work to regain that prestige, and I don't see anyone who is really telling the truth about it.

@@LanaW123 sadly I agree with you. I am not sure we can save the nation. I think there has been clear demonstration that the executive is broken, the legislature is broken beyond repair, the judicial no longer works in the interest of the people or constitutional law, the regulatory agencies, which now make all the rules, are corrupt beyond reckoning, and many the companies that make it all keep spinning are doing down with the ship. I hope we are both wrong. The only saving grace is that people are still mostly good. And so hopefully there will be pockets of people with some sanity.
Even if this nation falls, "America" is an idea, and those are resilient things.

Unfortunately it would include communists. Since they are for the demolition of the constitution that might not be a good idea in the long-run. Perhaps what he suggests should include some exceptions. I realize the left would try to sneak in
"right wing insurrectionists" as an exception but " political beliefs" needs to be explicitly defined.
