It was so nice. The great thing about this cake is you can swap out berries to whatever is in season.

I still can't forget your Guiness cake recipe you posted on your website.
My relatives always ask me to make it again.
Maybe you can make a video about it too?

That was beautiful 😍 and looks so easy! Why use raspberry in the frosting? Is it to have a contrast in flavor or because it is a stronger flavor then strawberries 🍓?🤔 Thank you for the yummy recipies 😋.

Hi Danielle the raspberries give a beautiful pink colour. You could leave them out if you wanted to. Strawberries don't give the same colour when you puree them.

@@ilovecookingireland Fair enough, I didn't mean to distrust you, just looks like a lot of milk in that jug! Beautiful cake either way though! :)

@@niklaswassermann9971 The tablespoons are bigger in Aus and Ireland than in USA.....maybe that’s the difference. Two teaspoons equal one dessert spoon, two dessert spoons equal one tablespoon.

Looks damn good, but I'll never buy a thing from Keelings as the import cheap labour to pick their fruit instead of employing local...disgraceful on their part

Have to say a pass, the amount of fat and sugar is insane, what about using, eggs, flour, potato starch and sugar? Is the continental way, much better

There is so much sugar in the recipe. So unhealthy, I'd like to have a strawberry shake instead.

It's more for a treat than everyday. Everything in moderation.

The recipe is Victorian, was very much in vogue then. Yes, cakes are sweet, the sugar gives the delicate texture.

Great taste comes with the price :D You'll never have it exactly this good with less amount of sugar, unfortunately

Recently I used ground freeze-dried strawberries in my buttercream. It was very delicious with a beautiful color! It worked well in the buttercream, because they’re tart and it didn’t add to the already sugary buttercream. It does need more heavy cream to rehydrate; but I highly recommend giving it a try!
