    Also Available data recovery for Mac: bit.ly/3yxf3IS
    Sometimes your computer can crash with black or blue screen and then data loss happens. With Tenorshare 4DDiG for Windows data recovery, you can create bootable drive to boot up the crashed computer and access data without any technical knowledge. Also in this video I test 4DDiG on a crashed hard drive full of data which is detected by the PC but has no partitions (0 bytes used, 0 bytes available) and show how to recover deleted files and folders from an emptied recycle bin

    Linux and linux recovery for windows disks, works great and is free. I used it on a PSU failure with shorted M/B and SATA HDD, Never seen on windows at all. recovered the drive for free with linux. same with a usb stick with deleted pictures from someones holiday they thought they had copied over to backup before wiping the usb. All recovered free.

    Hi Richard thanks for the interesting video. If I can make one small point of constructive criticism. For this type of video, could you make it more clear please if it is a paid sponsored video or just your thoughts on a product you have come across. Thanks

    • @LearnElectronicsRepair
      @LearnElectronicsRepair  2 роки тому +4

      Geoff W I'm not sure what was unclear - I selected 'video contains paid sponsor' when i published the video pointed out straight away that Tenorshare sent me this software to review and also stated I was told I must give an honest opinion, also allowing me to select how to test it. To be honest that is the only circumstance I would ever agree to review anything. 1. I give an honest opinion and 2. I think is is 'repair related'. Could you suggest what more I could do to be upfront and transparent about that as I always want to be clear about this sort of thing.

      Hi Richard thanks for the reply. I went back to try and figure out how I missed the text saying it was a paid promotion. I noticed something I hadnt noticed before. If you click on the refresh button for the video it shows the UA-cam "paid promo text" this only lasts for 10 secs and can be missed. What I did though was rewind the timeline bar back to 0:00 to watch it and it doesnt show the text at all if you do that, that was how I didnt notice it. So apologies yes my mistake. Might be worth you thinking about embedding the same text into the start of your video so its harder to miss. Just a thought.

    Useful tool. Great review. Would it recover encrypted drives or folders/files?

      It unlocks / removes encryption from Bitlocker drives

    • @GregM
      @GregM 2 роки тому +1

      @@LearnElectronicsRepair I would think it can only do that if the user provides the recovery key that was generated when Bitlocker was installed on the hard drive or is that recovery key not needed?

      Thank you. It's worth trying out. I have an external hard drive that is bitkocked and which I have failed to access with other recovery tools. The culprit laptop that bitlocked it was stolen, hence my predicament.

      @@sinjhguddu4974 As Richard said in other threads this will not help if the drive has suffered from hardware issues such as faulty heads or in the case of an external USB device the failure of the I/O interface in the case.

    The 100% recovery rate they claim sounds a bit sketchy to me. When you delete files/folders from the recycle bin, and you don't store any other things right after this delete action, then you have almost 99% that you can recover the deletec contents of the recycle bin, but from the moment you start using the pc/laptop, and store new files/folders on the same partition, you get a chance that the previous deleted contents gets overwriten with the new contents.
    The chance for overwriting deleted content, depends on the amount of free space, less free space, and the chance for overwriting is much greater then when storing new files/folders on a partition that have lots of Gigabytes of free space.
    Windows works in a weird way, when it comes to writing data to a medium, when you delete files/folders, the space gets marked as "empty", and available again for storing new files/folders. When will Windows overwrite this "empty" place, nobody knows, it can be within a hour, week, month or in e few years.
    Also, most Data recovery software can only recover data when the partitions are visible (seen by Windows) , that is not always the case.
    Good Data recovery software lets you search even on partitions that have a damaged MFT (Master File Table) or don't have a partition letter assigned (drive/partition(s) visible in diskmanagement, but not in My Computer).
    I know that there is software that can recover deleted partitions by the user, and recover 100% of the data (seen and done it myself), but i was nice to see how Tenorshare works in such scenario's.

    How about a failed harddrive?

    • @LearnElectronicsRepair
      @LearnElectronicsRepair  2 роки тому +3

      Ken Pappas Nothing will recover everything - some HDD even need head replacement and other work before you can get to the data but you probably know that already. I've fixed some HDD by removing short circuit capacitors and avalanche diodes on the controller board, unfortunately before I had the YT channel but I'm sure I will find more like that to make videos in future. Like every other field of electronics repair, you need a number of different tools in the box. From my experience with 4DDiG so far I can see it being useful in many cases and capable of making it's own investment back in profit pretty quickly, but of course it is never going to be able to do everything and sometimes you are going to have to do more work. Ask me again in a few months of using it.
      I would love to try DIY head replacement, I have some candidates here to try that I just need to invest in a few tools first. Watch this space 😉
