The 2600 was what got me into synthesizers I saw the music video for edgar winters frankenstein and when I saw edgar winter do his solo on it I immediately fell in love I did my reading and research about what a synthesizer is, what they do, how they they work and how they can be used and I'm so glad I did because I now own a couple synthesizers (moog mother 34, moog dfam and a ensoniq mr76) and I truly love them they allow me to express myself and my feelings and opinions more than any other instrument I have worked with, I still haven't played a arp 2600 but I think im going to save up for this cause this thing is beutiful
I heard boogie-funk/disco producer, Patrick Adams, used this a lot on leads. He made it scream, but also be very musical and funky. Please show us how he did it!
Challenge: Try to recreate Jarre's Oxygene 4 using that synth, Jupiter X and few more, make a modern-tech old new school. Then you used VST, now try hardware.
@@yhgugio9561 I know, two years ago, but he used one vst synthesizer, now I wanna him to try to make it on hardware (Jarre used Jupiter-8 and ARP2600 in "Oxygene in your living room", so Dr.Mix had Jupiter-X and Korg ARP2600M)

Love the Arp 2600. But I think that what I love more , it s your ‘ child reaction with a christmas gift ´ like ❤️❤️❤️ You re gonna make a lot a good sound design with this baby , for sure !
Wow!!! You have enjoyed this synth. I want to konw what will we hear on the 2600 if I send thru MIDI IN a chord form other MIDI device. I mean, I will hear one note or the chord complete. Thanks for share this things.
Cool synth, everything from R2-D2 to Saturn 3 robot sounds. I have both the OB-X (Oberheim) and Mini Moog software synthesizers and I'm always playing them. I owned a Cat by Octave hardware unit back in the eighties but I sold it. Now it's worth a few thousand dollars restored.
Thanks for the video! Have you listened Klaus Schulze's music? He's 70s works definitely among the most cosmic music ever made! ARP 2600 just made for such staff! In some demo video I saw 2600 sounding like some kind of vox - very atmospheric (it needs some reverb & delay, but still...). I remember there was your video with Roland SH-1000 some time ago. It must definitely join in! So, can you try to make something like Schulze's Wahnfried 1883, or 1st half of Mindphaser, for example?) P. S. And I just love the 2600's beeps...
The keys on the bundled controller look like those on my microKorg XL. Could they be the same? It comes from the same R&D bunch. If I thought I could purchase this little monster, I’d probably prefer to attach it to my Yamaha S90XS which is not only a sweet synth itself but makes a first-rare master MIDI controller. Meanwhile, it’s incredible how the 2600M sounds just as outstanding as its 70s progenitor. But I would like to see, Doc, would be a side-by-side comparison with the B2600. One or two persons have written that the B2600 doesn’t even sound like an ARP.
@@Doctormix OBX-A wasn't available yet in 1974, came out around 1980. ua-cam.com/video/QA8P7ss0M3s/v-deo.html Here's a clip where the keyboardist is using that Arp 2600 keyboard.

Edgar winter absolutely killed the earlier ARP on Frankenstein introducing it to audiences. Josef zwaniful of weather report employed 2600 extensively to maximum effect. Dr mix you are blessed to have ARP 2600. Some guys have all the luck.
It sounds like a chip synth but with the possibilities of an analogue synth. Could you play the laughing dog from Duck Hunt on it? I’ve got a feeling this synth is perfect for recreating it by the way it sounds.
Hey, try to remake some Depeche Mode Speak & Spell stuff with it. The 2600 was the main synth for that album, including the kick drum. If you could make some classic Vince Clarke stuff I would love to hear it.
@@chloedevereaux1801 Its literally everywhere from earliest to later albums. You could check interviews and see the DM's triple ARP2600 exposed in MET, NY. Better yet, just take any VST MiniMoog and ARP2600 (for ex Arturia, my fave pairing) and start playing - you get instant DM vibe :)
Wanna hear something weird? That would go really cool with both of the current Liven digital machines. 🤪 ...Btw, you played those gracings on Amazing Grace, like you were playing a pipe chanter with nine notes! 😉
4:34 faking surprise: "there's speakers inside of it"🙄. Of course, mate. Even if it's the M model, it retains the stereo speakers AND spring reverb of its big brother (and their elder one of the 70s), thanks Korg!👍 Side note: this time (and contrary to your ms20), I really do hope you're gonna use the patchbay (at least with the S/H... A must!)
The reverb is lush! I got the BArp2600 with an awful digital version. I prefer to use the digital (LOL) 'GFI Specular Tempus' which has a better Spring reverb. If you could re-create anything of Tomita's 'Snowflakes Are Dancing', that would be AWESOME! Reverie my fave though :) Enjoy your patching Claudio! :)
Fabulous. Wonderful .Maybe play oxygens and exinoque . One of those songs Edgar winter Frankenstein .or landscape one of there songs cool take care.x🙏❤️🎹

Coming this Crhistmas: Volca Purse & MiniKeyRing :))
Million dollar video as usual Claudio. That is SO COOL that Korg gave you that amazing piece of hardware!!! Love it!
God damn, the ARP is such a nice warm sounding synth.
Thats the happy high pitch twin to the grimm sounding Mini Moog you have! Perfect match! Two instruments with heart and charcter!
The 2600 and Odyssey are my all time favorite synths. Very cool new toy!
Me gusta mucho verte como disfrutas con los sintetizadores..
Felicidades Dr mix.
This synth is absolutly awesome!! I cant wait for future videos with it 🙂🙂
Korg made Classic Techno feel sooooo good. Retry that.
that smile of yours in the beginning is so contagious
Here's a challenge. A whole video of you seriously creating a specific unique timbre on this platform. Like if you needed it for a project.

I think you should use this to create the Stranger Things theme. Perfect application!

Daniel Miller's ARP 2600 was used excessively in Depeche Mode albums. Especially the early ones, so I think recreate a Depeche Mode song :)

Jon Lord's synth when Deep Purple was setting records for loudest band in the world.

The Arp 2600 was used for various sound effects with both Ed 209 & robocop in the original 1987 version.
