Cricket Australia have a better professional relationship with Kevin Pietersen than the ECB ever had in his entire career. Look...they even do interview style videos with KP during the big bash, upload his innings, and etc... ☺ Like if you agree!
Maybe it's easier to have a good relationship with him when you don't have to manage him for years. KP was a wonderful batsman but he's had bad relationships with a number of teams that he's played with for longer periods so there's undoubtedly a pattern there. It's all well and good for IPL or BBL teams to live with him for a month at a time but for years and particularly touring is a different matter. I'm not necessarily placing all the blame on KP's shoulders but those who don't blame him at all simply aren't looking at the evidence.
As great as he was, he was a bit of a kid and backstabber. ECB bent over backwards for him... if the Aussies have a supposed better relationship, it wouldn’t be for long if they had to work with him.

Every now and then I come back to this and think of how unfortunate it is that I was born too late to be an English fan in this era. What a spectacle this would've been, an absolute marvel of a player. Go England.
Players like Pietersen come along once in 20 odd years and England threw him out. The English cricket snobs don't like a maverick like Botham, Pietersen and the likes, but it's the public that suffer because they don't get to see them play.
It's not just cricket. In rugby and football the selectors have always avoided the geniuses and instead pick the consistent 7 out of 10 player. I assume because they are easier to manage.
If only we had one every 20 years. Nobody has matched his level for England, past or present. Had he been treated better, people would be putting him in conversations with the likes of Lara and Tendulkar.
An absolute delight to watch on one of his very many good days. Impossible to bowl to at a time like that, you can bowl it where you like and he will hit it where he likes.
Kevin Pietersen, another top class batsman from South Africa playing for England. Should have played for South Africa. I do understand why he left South Africa and could never understand why South Africa did not select him. But good for England and he played some wonderful games. Shame this was his best test score. I am an Aussie and I watched and enjoyed his innings, top class. And he was great in the BBL in Australia. Loved it when he was miked up and listening to his banter, most of it gold. Hope he comes back and commentates in Australia again.
This Adelaide oval gives the classic look and one of my favourite cricket grounds around the world where one could see the red roofs on one side of the ground with no roofed areas all around the ground i.e open areas for the spectators to sit and enjoy the test or ODIs especially the CUB series through 90s. It was a treat to watch matches on this ground even on the television sets. The revamped Adelaide oval is great looking too but the old look gave a much more relaxing look to this wonderful cricket ground i feel.

Sad to say, English county cricket is dead in the water, not even Sky Sports will go near it, the sad and slow demise of what was once an entertaining sport here in UK has completely run out of money. Getting rid of Pietersen says it all.

Great to watch, arguably the most exciting batsman of the last 15 years, certainly test match. Can be argued he changed the game, at least a major contributor to the more aggressive game today. 15 years ago you just didn’t reverse sweep sixes.
