T his takes persistence and a great deal of patience and hard work. Wow.. I am so impressed. Just goes to show what can be done and how mankind has evolved methods of working and survival over the years. Makes me think a lot.
Digging a well is a laborious process as it is the collective efforts of many rather than a single person. But here the girl is seen digging the well all alone using primitive methods as available to her and for drawing the water she is using bamboo tubes , She is constructing a protection wall to the well using bamboo sticks and the well now looks extremely compact and she is now making use of the red sand to give more strength to the bamboo wall and now the sand is being filled in and now the well looks absolutely in order and now any one can comfortably draw water from it and no one will fall in to the well , as there is a protection wall in place. The girl who is hard working can take pride in the completion of a difficult job undertaken by her.
This is why i grow bamboo...the most useful plant in the world! Thank you for you are an endless source of inspiration! you are the real people. I hope you inherit the Earth
How long did this take in real time, I wonder? And how many wells has this lady dug before, because she obviously knows exactly what to do and how and when to do it! Many thanks for posting this.
No videos for two months? You're one of (if not the) best of all these primitive channels, with your hard work, beauty and expertise. How about a small garden, wild edibles or a fish trap? Maybe some pottery, or weaving mats? There's still a lot you can do to develop this series.
Good idea to line the inside of the well with stone. What you did with the clay above the surface is fine. Best way to filter: Thick layer of rocks, pebbles, sand, cloth (optional), and then charcoal. Once the water drips through all of that, it should be clean and safe. Replace sedimentary layers every few months or when the charcoal deteriorates.
Ground is clean eh? Tell that to gastroenteritis, rotavirus, e. coli, VTEC, and salmonella. Or even parasites such as cryptosporidium. Hell, if the rocks and minerals in your area are right, you could have arsonic, lead, or even uranium in your water! Filter and boil ALWAYS, even if it looks clean. Can't hurt to be safe.
So enthralling, to see a "girl" set up her own living organic environment! Thank you for showing. Does she have any recycling intentions? Does she know how to use nature's intelligence (e.g. Perma-Culture?). Most of all, does she know how to feed herself? I've not seen her cook something from her natural environment... hope she'll not kill animals... Thank you for showing these videos.
My favourite girl to watch with my morning coffee. I find it astounding that your dirt hangs together so WELL . were I live that hole would have slumped in ... you would have had to line the sides all the way down. good job blocking the surface water from contaminating your water supply... I was going to mention it but clearly you know what your doing. Jared
I can remember 8 years ago I was able to be outside like this, now you can't be out for 1 min without getting stung by millions of zebra mosquitos that came with trucks from the jungles of the world. we use to have palm trees everywhere also got destroyed by a bug that came the same way
I admired you with your talent you are amazing lady. It reminds me about living in a remote area in the Philippines very peaceful and quiet. What is the next project never see you cooking in your corgeous house.
Raymundo Rivas Same here. That's what it remind me of. Simple and all the peace and quiet you ever wanted. Too bad, that place I meant is in Mindanao and i'm here in luzon for couple of decades now. Missed it a lot though.
Helen Busse Hi Helen that's where I came from Mindanao surigao del sur, I left my town tandag to find a greener pasture out of the philippines and ended up in usa, never been visited for more than 3 decades miss the place anyways have a nice day.
One critique: Camera operator did not film well. While you worked we were not always able to view what you were doing because the camera was off filming something else. I much prefer your other videos where camera focuses on you and your current task rather than panning around to view the surrounding area while you work. We love watching what you are doing and how you are doing it. Otherwise, excellent video and content! I love seeing how the hut and surrounding area are progressing! Keep up the great work!!
I get very dizzy watching this video, I would love to see more of what you are working on rather than just looking at the ground, other then that, well done. It looks like really hard work.
Great job ! This does not seem improvised. Are some councellors teaching the technics ? But execution is perfect, despite rather poor tools. Second impression : bamboo is easy to find and can satisfy so many needs and conditions keeping solid among the years. Marvellous material.

Bamboo is such a godly material. It's just sooo versatile! I wish Europe had it locally, but oh well. Lots of different ways to build.
thats a thing of beauty. The well is not bad either!
