Oh man, I can remember having a 5160 as my very first cellphone ten years ago. I'd have more nostalgia if I'd actually used it for anything except emergencies though.

Incidentally, my mother had a Nokia very similar to the third one from the left (definitely the same series, may have even been the same model) back in the late 90's. It was like her second or third phone. They were still pretty expensive back then, she kinda had to start using them because she was going back to school at the time to get her teaching license, and had to commute long distances. With two kids in elementary school, it was almost a necessity. (continued)

@cat333pokemon Anyway, if you're interested, a family friend has an old car phone in the storeroom of his business.
It's been a few years since I saw it, so he might have gotten rid of it, but I can ask him about it the next time I see him. He'd probably be willing to let it go pretty cheap, maybe even for free, it's just taking up space.

@unnessasarylongname Oh no, trust me, there have been MUCH bigger phones than these, even more so than the ones on the left.
Look up the Motorola DynaTAC. There's a reason people call them "brick phones" today.
For their time, though, they were considered very compact. Previous mobile telephones were so big that you had to keep them in your car or carry them around in a briefcase.
