It just keeps getting better and better. Really enjoyed this one and loved the analogy of building a stage set. Have to agree as well there is something magical and satisfying about dry brushing terrain. Looking forward to the next stage, makes for a relaxing and peaceful interlude every Sunday. Cheers.
Thanks Trashrat! It's so nice to be a part of so many people's Sunday routines! I've made a start on the next stage already - I'll have my work cut out for me this week!
You are absolutely killing this build. Every video you post is making it better. I've only known about you for a month or so, and yours are my most anticipated videos!!! Keep it going.
I love how each section has a name as well as many of the homes, it reminds me of places I use to go to in the UK as a child then teenager on many of our weekend trips. It’s not the same in Australia the history is just too young here. Watching you building each section is like one of my many weekend trips around the countryside. Always something fun to be found around the next corner.
Wow. I was thinking about stalagmites and stalactites. My imagination was actually seeing 👀 them. Still A very very creative and impressive masterpiece. Especially that low shot looking up. I'm allways imagining living inside those gorgeous little houses 🏘 and shops. Walking up and down those staircases and alleys. Streets and tunnels. The rope makers candle stick makers. The carpenters. Architects and artisans. The many generations that built Undercrag to what it became. From it's humble beginnings to its foreboding future. I've even thought that piece could actually become an Undercrag city book nook. Love these videos. ❤❤❤
Watching this build since the beginning has been the highlight at the end of most weeks for me. I know it will end one day, but then next adventure will start. Absolutely beautiful work!
That's so great to hear! Thank you. We're a long way from finished with Undercrag, so please keep enjoying! And, yes - I already have ideas for the next project...
Whow ! What an intricated and impressive piece ! One of my favorites so far. Stunning. I was not feeling well today, after a bad night (I have anxiety and insomnia) and this video really helped me to feel better, so thank you. While watching, I was imaginating a magical world connected to ours. In this town, from time to time, a new part of the city appears, like it was always here, and people say it was the gods who did it, not knowing it was in fact a man in a parallel universe...
Lovely start to my day, to watch this with a cup of tea. I'm all caught up from the binge, and it's been beautiful to see the progress of Undercrag. You may not see it yourself, but your skills have come a long way too during the time you've worked on the project, and it's truly inspirational! I plan to start a similar project myself as soon as I have a better dedicated hobby space, but for now I'm still at the miniature character stage. Keep up the great work! I'm looking forward to the next episode.
Thank you very much! And thank you for bingeing! You're absolutely right - I'm constantly learning while working on this project. It's always nice when people tell me I've helped to inspire them. Next episode on the way soon!
This is just what I needed after a very busy Sunday! I've been reorganising my craft room so that I can finally start using my red das clay, as my tools arrived yesterday 😊 And on the plus side, I didn't have to send in the S.A.S. this week, the other half headed straight upstairs to work on a clock he bought at the car boot sale this morning 😊
Very pictoresque, love the huts embedded in the stone and coves. Only thing distracting is the all grey clay cover of the edges. Maybe you could adjust and make them look rock like, more edges, not so round and smooth and colour them accordingly. Because of the lights the houses will still be prominent. Yet, great job and lovely scenery. Greetings from Germany.
Hi there! Nice to hear from you. Yes - I'm going to work on the grey edges. I plan to make it look like we're looking into a cross-section of the stone mountain. I just haven't got around to it yet! Thanks for watching - I hope you'll stick around for more!
@@ColonelOTruthMiniatureIssues great. Definitely I am looking forward to your finished scenery. Reminds me of Italy where you often find houses like bird's nests on the mountains, I love your style and eye for details, also that you use not so expensive materials. Others glue grass and moss and plants, nice of course, but your paint creates the same effect. Take care.
Every time I think you’ve reached the top you go one better! Loved this build. What puts this channel at the top for me is how you’ve stayed true to building by hand (mad skills), the wonderful narration (great voice) and relaxing background music (really good ear). Keep up the amazing working.
Beautiful! Everything is melting together. I think the muses show the melted towers and castles of the old world, where at some point one doesnt know where the hills start, and where the bricks end.
Thank you! I'm planning a walk-through video, in which I will talk about the history of Undercrag City. In a funny way, building the model is telling me the story at the same time, so it's constantly developing. Watch this space!
Haha! I have batteries and switches built into the side of the model, and I limit myself to around twenty LEDs per battery. I'm up to eight switches so far.
YAY !!! i’m so excited i’ve been waiting all week! i recently subscribed and i could go on and on about how much i love your videos and your work. and i do. my boyfriend has heard me talk about you so much and i’ve been trying to get him to watch a video of yours and with me :) i’m so glad to see your channel growing! you deserve many, many more and i’m very excited to watch you grow!
That's quite some city. How do you get from one area to the next? Where are the ppl? Where are the animals? Where does food come from? Is there open land nearby? Are there weekly shipments with supplies? I'm hoping these are future builds.
Wow! What a lot of questions, Elaine! The people and animals of Undercrag City are currently all stuck in my head. They might at some point emerge as miniatures, or in the pages of a book! Like most cities, Undercrag is sustained by the many farms and villages over which it presides - these may also be projects for the future. There are also other sources of nutrition in the depths of the mountain - but we don’t talk about those… Thank you for watching - I hope you’ll stick around for more!
Haha - nope! Undercrag is a very solid model, with no way of getting at any of the wiring. Best I can do is change the batteries and perhaps replace switches if they fail. The LEDs should last 50 - 100,000 hours...
Love the way the yellow paint on top of the green makes it spring to life, loving this creation,
I love the yellow and green washes too! Thank you so much for watching!
Another truly mesmerizing episode! Thank you so much for sharing, your channel is one of my absolute favorites!
Thank you so much! That's really nice of you!
I like watching dioramas videos with cute musics, that's the first time I watch like a documentary. Amazing.
Thank you, Hannah! I really appreciate it!

Punctual like Big Ben !😃.
Believe me, it's a challenge! Wouldn't want to let you down!
I so look forward to these videos.
Excellent! So glad to hear it!

Thanks Dawsie - it's nostalgic for me too, as I'm originally from the north of England. I love creaky old places!
Another wonderful addition to your fabulous city. Like a little village in itself.
Thank you Ellie! Yes - I enjoyed the self-contained nature of this piece.

Thanks David! Very happy you're enjoying Undercrag - no stalactites or stalagmites this time though!

I enjoy how you put ore with unique colors. Almost as a reason the mountain was mined so uniquely!
Absolutely! That was my thought too!
Always love watching everything come together.
This place makes my arthritic knees hurt. It looks so real.
Thank you!
I’m glad it looks so real - sorry about your knees. I’m sure eventually somebody in Undercrag will invent elevators!
I love the idea of "stand alone"! So that's what the pointy end of a compass is for! Who knew! LOL! Looks great!
Thanks Michael! Compass points are brilliant, aren't they? So stabby!

Aha! Strategic clock-buying as a means of brokering peace! our husband is a wise man!
Good luck with your terracotta DAS endeavours!
Another beautiful addition!! Thank you for sharing your creations 🤩
Thank you again, stranger!

I love how the most jacked up brushes are the best for dry brushing. Don't throw out brushes people. They have a use.
Spot on I have loads of dead paintbrushes for all sorts of uses which are not painting as such
If I threw away my worn-out brushes, I'd be replacing them on a daily basis!

Grace, you are far too kind! Thank you for all the compliments - I shall endeavour to keep you entertained!

Thank you! What a nice comparison!
Another to tour de force truly inspiring video makes you want to go and build something
Thank you so much! Go build something!
Beautiful piece of work 😍😍
Thank you! Loved your match stick atom bomb!
That is one of the most beautiful pices I've seen
Thank you so much! That’s very generous of you!
One of my favourite pieces, it looks wonderful. Thanks for all your hard work.
Thanks Paul! Really pleased you like it!
Nice build. Could you tell us a little bit more about the lore of undercrag city. I guess you have worked out a lot actually
Thank you!

Looks so good.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Debbra!
Wow!!! I love how you made this piece modular!
Beautiful addition as always ❤😊❤
Thank you so much!
@@ColonelOTruthMiniatureIssues you are very welcome 🤗
You are truly a artist it's amazing😊
Thank you very much!
Fantastic work as always and incredible how you keep coming up with new ideas!!
Undercrag City looks like a fab city for an RPG setting…🤔
Thanks mate! It’s all got a little out of control…
RPG? I have a few ideas…
where will you display this wonderful build when you’re finished?
I’m having a custom display case made for my living room wall.
This is amazing, but QUESTION: You have so much wiring and electronics, will you be using a car battery to power it? Lol Thx
Haha!
I have batteries and switches built into the side of the model, and I limit myself to around twenty LEDs per battery. I'm up to eight switches so far.

😮36 minutes??? you spoil us !! might be my favourite episode yet, you can really see how well it’s coming along!
It seems the longer videos are more popular! I was surprised!
Yes - it's developing nicely, isn't it! Lots more to do though!
Thank you so much! So sorry to keep you waiting a whole week!
And thanks for sharing with your boyfriend - I hope he enjoys the channel too.
Cool
Thank you!

What material do you use to build the houses? :D
Hi. The houses are made from 1mm black cardstock and thin balsa wood.
I’d like to give this a go. Could you please tell me what foam your use please I can’t wait to start
Hi Richard.
The yellow foam is SPF insulation foam. The black is foamcore display board with the paper peeled off for detailing.
do you have a way to get into your electrical work in case a replacement or repair needs to be done?
Haha - nope! Undercrag is a very solid model, with no way of getting at any of the wiring.
