This is a channel for people who suffer from dissociation (depersonalization and derelization - DPDR). If you have depersonalization or derealization there is a way to get out of it and get your life back. DPDR is a form of anxiety that makes you feel like you're looking at yourself from the outside (depersonalization) or you experience life 'like looking through a fishbowl' (derealization), or both (DPDR). Essentially you feel disconnected from yourself and everything around you, for hours or even weeks and months at a time.
It can be extremely scary and exhausting and often it feels like there is no way out which causes a lot of anxiety. However, there is a way out and it's absolutely possible to live a normal and connected life, permanently.
If you'd like to know more about your depersonalization and derelization and how to overcome it, please book a free discovery call with me. Together we'll go into why you dissociate, the path to recovery, how to finally overcome it and how to stop it coming back.

There's no 'generic daily exercises' you can do apart from the obvious like exercise etc. It really depends on you, what can you do daily that calms yourself? Also creating a habit of changing your mindset can help.

This makes sense but according to polyvagal theory, if youve become numb and have lost anxiety/emotion, that means your in freeze shutdown state and in order to kickstart your nervous ststem in this state, you need the sympathetic to activate fight or flight, and once you go back down those steps, then you can heal. However, for those of us in shutdown, we can't induce adrenaline or anxiety because we cant feel anything because we're stuck in numbness. Any advice?

Ive had DPDR for approx like 3-5 months, My love for my special someone was so strong before DPDR and when I got it, they suddenly dissappeared. Then i started dissociating and feeling numb. I still dissociate and im still feeling numb to this day. I occassionally have these freak out episodes where my heart starts to race and i cant tell what makes me freak out.
I was just wondering, would my feelings for my special someone come back?

So, you see the cause as anxiety and stress regardless? I feel like I don’t have the symptoms like before, but I’m not sure if they’re really gone. Can I think that if there’s no anxiety and stress, there’s no DP/DR?

You can have no anxiety and stress but still experience some symptoms as I explained in the vid. But yes, you will eventually return to base line. When you no linger think about it or have any symptoms then you're fully recovered.

Since we’re at it I have another suggestion: sensitivity to food, caffeine, alcohol, supplements (a lot of people with dpdr seem to experience something called overmethylation. You get anxiety and a dump of neurotransmitters and makes you feel like you’re on drugs)
