Love your mod. I have a question though, even if the mod has Gens physics It seems you kept Frontiers updated momentum/air resistance? Jump seems to kept speed even on air

Now this in my opinion is how sonic should've felt in cyberspace, the homing attack and boosting was slow and finicky in vanilla frontiers, seeing this mod is a breath of fresh air and is very cool.

Erm actually They also ported some from unleashed and SA2 🤓🤓🤓
Alright give me the nerd emojis and stuff. But they sadly couldn’t port the physics cause they were actually dependent on the havok physics engine i believe and with Segas license running out between lost world and forces i think, they attempted to make thier own physics which sorta shows. :(

Seeing this really highlights how slow sonic is in base game's cyberstages.
Because the levels are shorter, it really doesn't make a difference
@@HakumeiTenshiCutting the amount of content from a stage and reducing his speed it’s not a good solution. Sonic is supposed to be fast.
Honestly the biggest problem with frontiers is the speed. If they just kept sonic fast in the levels and had his speed in the open world not get slowed every time there was a transition during an obstacle, it would be SO much better.

I mean in unleashed when you hit an obstacle you slow down
@@kaosagamerrealbig issue is that he loses practically all of it whenever not in boost/spindash. It feels like Lost world where Sonic’s basically only walking until boosting.
Unleashed, Colors, and Generations meanwhile maintain a satisfying degree of momentum, arguably moreso than Adventure/Afventure2/Heores before them
Frontiers has many issues of equal importance
no, the problem is Frontiers is it is still using the Lost World framework. increasing the speed of that gives you Forces. they need to create a brand new physics engine with new assets or go back to Unleashed/Gens.

Luckily, spindash is really op and fast in frontiers. It's a joy using it in cyberspace :)
If this is for people to catch up to Sonic, then that just feels off. Just keep Sonic as fast as he is and make him say, "You're too slow!"

Hmm, maybe it isn't 100% Gens but those changes in Sonic's speed and the air drag are much better than Frontiers physics. Animations help a lot with imitating Gens' smooth gameplay as well. Maybe imitating the good old camera movement would nail it

it might be really close to gens, but gens has better game feel (camera angles and such) which enhance things.

I was porting Crisis City from gens and i saw this mod just came out its amazing
Frontiers’ is cool but I hope Unleashed style jump balls like this comes back someday, it’s so satisfying to just look at
Generations ball is a bit weird
Frontiers physics are best for adventure, generations and classic level design. Generations physics are good for unleashed level design. Sonic generations levels were hard to play because there was lots of platforming

first, unleashed physics in generations, second, frontiers physics in frontiers, what next? unleashed in sonic and knuckles physics?
For the life of me, I'd like to know just why SEGA has been unable to re-create the physics from Sonic Generations (which I assumed was built off of the Unleashed engine which made the movement even better). They had the boost formula pretty solid with Generations. Why is it that Forces and Frontiers felt so much different and even dare I say went backwards??
Lost world
There are certain animations like the quick step and stomp which need changing, then the camera needs to imitate the generation one.
Since lost world it's been so fixed but the twisting camera added so much emersion to the speed you got in those games.
It's incredible how you can confirm it just by looking at it
With Chameleon physics, Sonic would be god

Could it be that what I've been waiting for so long has come to pass? Sonic was fixed with a boost, he is now again a wave that destroys everything in its path
Honestly, if Sonic in Cyberspace behaved EXACTLY like in the open-world, I would be happy.
But for some reason, he is slower and stiffer within Cyberspace.
The spin dash made it better though.
The one thing I am asking Sega and Sonic Team to bring back

I feel like camara speed would make frontiers start to feeling more faster. If sonic's boosts, he should start going off camara for a split second but nope, he always stays in view of the camara.

If they couldn’t make competent physics for cyberspace and for whatever reason they couldn’t move over gens physics, why not at least use the overworld physics? Surely no one playtested the cyberspace physics and went yeah we cooked here

I know people are complaining saying Sonic should be this fast in frontiers but imo these physics probably wouldn't work well in the Open Zone
They wouldn't, He's too stiff. Not to mention the pop in would be worst than it already is. Plus unleashed and generations sonic is meant for going in a straight like with few turns.

As much as I like Sonic being fast, we don't need it to be always apparent. The approach they took in Frontiers was great as it felt a mix of boost and adventure
Sonic is slow as hell in Frontiers it feels like you're running through mud. And the open zone and cyberspace already have different physics in the base game so there was no reason to cripple him in cyberspace.

Yeah this is cool till you realize the base physics of the game were stiff, meaning not really Gens.
Gens a bit stiffer than that especially in air.
