    In this video I show you how to photograph good reflections as well as how to shoot the fall colors. Landscape photography is not about your gear and camera as much as it is about getting out there and shooting during the right weather and seasons.

    I totally love Tim's method of instruction. Functional, basic, with no over the top showmanship. He teaches in a way so as to make me want to be like him with the results he gets!

    Just completed fall trips to Canmore, Kananaskis, Jasper, Hinton, amazing "Meadows in the Sky" in Revelstoke and the magical back roads and protected Lac Du Bois grasslands just outside Kamloops. I am not totally happy with too many of my photos and I think should have tried photo stacking, but am waiting on delivery of my first full-frame camera and I cannot wait to try it out! Tim, could I ask what shutter remote you use? I have a collection that keep failing on me and would like one that is good quality that I can keep for a while. Love the photos - am adding this to my list of places to visit. So awesome that you live one province away from me so a lot of places you refer to are recognizable.

    Thanks for the tips. Working on lesson 2. The captions for the Deaf make this a great video to learn from. Thanks.

    Last month I spent four nights in a motel up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Spent time scoping out locations for some Fall Foliage shots.
    I have reservations for three nights starting the 6th of October at the same motel and will be trying out some serious shots. Just last month I bought my first full frame Nikon d610 so off I go. Wish me luck.

    Wow, a landscape photographers dream location. I am in the South of England and the fall colours peaked about a week or 2 ago. Today we have had some strong winds and rain and a lot of the leaves have dropped. Great content as usual. Thanks for sharing.

      You should try and visit Picture Lake next year. It is well worth the travel if you are in Washington.

    I have photographed Picture lake before and I loved it.....!! I got to head up there on Tuesday, hopefully the colors will be there for me. You should have went up to Artist point, there's some great scenery a little farther up the road.

    Hi Tim, Wow want a great picture. Well done. You certainly have great skill. Can I please confirm what your focus point was? Was it near shore line closest to you (a few meters in front of camera) or was it the other side of the lake? I am really strolling to get crystal sharp focus like you get. Agin, great job. Cheers Bryan

    • @TimShieldsPhotography
      @TimShieldsPhotography  4 роки тому

      Absolutely Bryan. For these shots I usually focus on the part of the reflection that is nearest to me, and then I review the image and zoom in tight on it and then look at the foreground to see if it is sharp. I may have to refocus closer to the foreground for a second shot in this case.

    The part where you said F 11 is a good aperture because once you get over F 13 you start to see noise. Would that be a general rule for most cameras or is that with your D780? I have the D750. I suppose I should follow the same “rule.”
