LCM and GCF on Math GED

Can we do addition to find the HCF

I still don't understand how you determine which is LCM or GCF

If it is a word problem look for words that signal greatest or least. If you see words like largest, most, or of course greatest then you find the GCF. If you see words that signal smallest, fewest, or least then find the LCM.
