that is a great question and an interesting topic of conversation that is somewhat up for debate. I am not under the impression that the bushings or u joints are tightly sealed enough that greasing until you see grease is doing any sort of damage. As that is how I've always seen it done in the shops. not to say that sticking to just one pump on a brand new machine would be a bad course of action. Once they inevitably do open up though I think greasing until we see fresh grease ensures that any trapped moisture or contaminants have been pushed out and the bushings are riding on just grease. Just my .02c and the way I do it. Hope this somewhat answers that and I appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a good thought provoking question in the comments. Cheers
always try and sneak some humor in an otherwise boring technical tutorial. Thanks for watching even though you didn't need to and for taking the time to leave a comment. Cheers
Dumb question, I have a 22 Reny 1K XMR. Bought a grease gun from the auto store but not sure if the tip it came with is compatible with the zerks. Is the tip supposed to “pop” or “lock” on?
that's actually a good question. I believe they are fairly universal and it does sort of pop on there a bit. Hope this helps and thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a question in the comments. Cheers
haha glad I'm not the only one who thought that was just a little funny. Thanks for watching and subbing more renegade vids getting edited right now. Cheers
yes sir, the newer bikes are a little different. Thanks for taking the time to share that valuable bit of information as I'm sure anyone with a newer bike who sees this will appreciate it. I'm sure that xxc is just a blast to ride too. Thanks again for watching and taking the time to share that info with all of us in the comments, Cheers
that's very good to know, since I've made this video I've started working with the god send that is service manuals and realized its the only way to go, In all future vids we will be referencing the manuals a lot more to ensure I'm demonstrating the most proper way to do it. Thanks for watching and especially for taking the time to share valuable information with all of us in the comments. Cheers
I have tried both depending on the severity of a squeak. Wd-40 makes a white lithium grease in a spray can that is very easy to quickly spray on the shocks mounting parts and bushings or I have also unbolted them completely to try and pack the marine grease shown in the video into the bushings and mounts, kind of messy, but will help with a squeaky shock. Hope this helps, not sure if its the correct way to do it, but it does seem to work. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave such a good question in the comments. Cheers
Great question, they are mentioned if I remember correctly, but just in general like "grease a arms" "lubricate rear sway bar links and pivot bushings at grease fittings" "lubricate propeller shafts" I'm with you though why not just include a nice diagram of the exact locations for this critical piece of maintenance. Oh well guess just leaves more opportunity to make vids for further clarification. Thanks for watching and leaving a thought provoking question in the comments. Cheers
Thanks man, awesome videos. It helped me alot!
My renegade is back new now after these maintenance works, all thanks to your great work. Cheers!

Great video! 👍🏻 There is no fittings that if you grease until you see it coming out that it will pop the seals?

Also, the manual says to pull and grease the lower bolts on the shocks for the xxc model.

What about the struts how did you grease them? Or do you use oil
