    ABOUT ME
    I'm a 🌎 Digital Nomad, 👨‍💻 Impact Entrepreneur, 🏄 Surfer, and 🏝 Life Lover.
In early 2017 I bought a one-way ticket from the U.S. to Bali with three main goals:
    1) Build enough online passive income so I could financially retire (✅)
    2) Figure out what makes me happy (✅: surfing & wandering the world)
    3) Figure out what brings me purpose/meaning (✅: building impact-focused businesses & non-profits)
Now that I'm financially retired and living out my dream, I'm creating content to help other people to chase their dreams, build financial freedom, and figure out how to live purpose and happiness driven lives. 🤙

For surfing, the East Coast is where it's at. Surfing competitions are held at Bathsheba and you'll meet people there who can tell you other spots good for your skill level.

I appreciate the tip! I've been out to soup bowl / bathsheba a few times since I recorded this. That's a great spot! 😎

You definitely need to take a trip to the East or Atlantic Coast where the waves are much more serious. Bathesheba or the Soup Bowl is where folks surf. Good luck and sounds like you are really enjoying Barbados. You must also stop by one of our "rum-shops" - chweapest beerr (and coldest too) along with maybe a ham-cutter (ham sandwich) loaded with hot sauce (jalepeno sauce kinda). Enjoy and maybe we'll meet up.

Thanks Dean! I've done a few trips out there since I shot this! I am loving it here and I appreciate the tips. Will definitely try out your food and drink recommendations! 🤙 Down to meet up, feel free to ping me on IG @camwoodsum

Beautiful Vlog - but more importantly the last part where you explain how happy you were to be 'back in the water' - and to witness how happy and overwhelmed with peace within you - the beauty within your soul shone through - you are t'rue'. 🌹

A few places you may want to check out if you haven't already - some of my favorite spots:
    - Huntes Gardens: this is Paradise on earth. I could spend hours there!
    - Andromeda Gardens: Just up the road from Bathsheba, this is a large, beautiful botanical garden.
    - Whelchman Hall Gully: Botanical Garden/Natural Preserve that reflects what the natural ecosystem might have looked like prior to settlement.
    - Coles Caves: This one is and adventure, and you go at your own risk. This is an undeveloped cave system. You'll need to find a local who knows where the hidden jungle entrance is. Don't go alone, take lots of waterproof lights, and expect to get wet and muddy.
    - St. Nicholas Abbey: Well preserved Jacobian plantation which you can tour (furnishings well preserved as well), there are also beautiful lush grounds and gardens, a boutique Run Distillery where you can do rum tasting, and buy personalized bottles of premium rum distilled on-site. There is also a 45 minute steam train ride available which takes you to nearby Cherry Tree Hill (a popular lookout point).
    - The Tavern at Lemon Arbour - a nice casual dining establishment towards the centre of the island. Popular with locals, and a source of quality local cuisine.

Any advice how to find cheap long term accommodation ( apartments , bungalows etc )? Is there a local website or something that advertises places to rent ? Thanks bro, any info would be greatly appreciated!

    • @CamWoodsum1
      @CamWoodsum1  3 роки тому

Hey Andy! I'm not sure what long term means to you, for a few months probably airbnb, for longer, you are probably better off on a local site. I don't remember the website names though, you could Google "barbados apartment rentals" and I'm sure they'll popup. You should also join the Barbados expat and barbados digital nomads Facebook Groups. This would be a great question there and they can be much more helpful than me.

Didn't realize there's another beach that's official name is Brandon's. This surf spot is frequently referred to as Brandon's within the surf community here. Not sure why tho 🤷‍♂️

Drill Hall beach is really best for beginners.

    • @chapmansamar

@@journeyswithj246 drill hall has great surf but when you visit Brandon's beach it's a breath of fresh air for a calm bath and golden sunsets and you get to walk on 2 other beaches at the same time Batts Rock and Paradise beach and they are also great surf areas.

@@chapmansamar for sure Brandon's is amazing. I was actually going to suggest Batts Rock to you but wasn't sure if you were familiar with the West Coast yet. Glad you enjoy it there!!! Cheers to more adventures and memories.
