Wiradjuri Ancestral Repatriation - an emotional ceremony held in June 2021 in Garra, near Molong NSW

In an emotional ceremony, the remains of a Wiradjuri Aboriginal woman were buried in Garra (near Molong NSW) following their repatriation to the local community. The ceremony was held with the assistance of the Heritage NSW Repatriation Program, Orange Local Aboriginal Land Council and the Central Tablelands Local Land Services. It involved a mix of men, women and children from the local area and included a procession, smoking ceremony, burial and dances.
