Oh you found them... Now you can see their big influence to Franzrhythm. I really love to translate the lyrics to english for ya but most of them are in form of metaphor and poems so its really difficult. Anyway the title said "hymn of love". The woman is longing for her man coz they're not together for some time and for some reasons. And then HE finally returns and they're back in each other's arms again. She described their feelings as... Heavenly with tears of joy and, like a free bird flying over the clouds, unending happiness that flows like a river and their devotion to each other is their guiding light to overcome all challenges.

my favorite Filipino band of all time. ASIN was formerly named SALT OF THE EARTH, if I remember it right. The lyrics of most of their songs are way way ahead of their time. Such a treasure to have them in and their contributions to the Philippine music.❤️

since then there music is always in my mind ..and HIMIG NG PAG IBIG isone of my faverite song..
This band is my number 1. I have been listening to them since I was a kid. Lolita Carbon's vocals is just so full of soul. And their harmonies! So pleasant to the ears. Thank you GK for this reaction. I super appreciate it .

Asin was once a soundtrack of my highschool life. I have a feeling that one day you will too come across a group called Juan Dela Cruz Band, Philippines greatest rock band. Old videos, however, are scarce so either phone videos when age caught up with them or studio recordings. I suggest you start with the song "Beep Beep" ( I can hear some traces of Clapton's Cream ). Highlight it with "Wally's Blues" for pure guitar solo delight (Jeff Beck, eh!)
I grow up with their songs. Asin is an amazing band. I remember watching their packed concert in Divine Word College (Now Divine Word University), Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines Gymnasium where people from outside were banging the doors of the gymnasium so loud that we almost cannot hear their songs. The band announced and requested the organizers to open the door for them to enter. Experience that i will forever cherish.
I was just on my highschool when this band is on its prime. I really miss them. They have many beautiful songs

I watch their concert in Pelaez Sports Center in Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao, that was in the 80's and I was just a kid. Their songs were my favorite. It's so refreshing to hear their songs again. But it so sad that one of the member meet a tragic end, he was murdered inside a bar where he performed. His name was Saro Banarez and was the composer of one of their song Cotabato. He was from Cotabato also.
Asin was one of the best group ever.Still love to hear their Song.

Pure heart music and lyrics
Asin is similar to Freddie Aguilar in terms of creating songs which are inspirational and motivational, unlike the songs nowadays mostly are rated PG which are swearing, cursing, seduction, lustful, and so on, but the children are listening to it freely and when the kids became demonic and violent the parents become remorseful and saying why are you so stubborn and to whom did you get that attitude 😠

Asin is the legendary folk rock band in the Philippines..
up to these days ( actually every Sundays or down times around 2-4 afternoon) I still hear this old melodies playing in our local FM radio stations. That's how timeless they are. You should listen to Freddie Aguilar's songs too!

Yes, Asin is an amazing band advocating preservation of environment and axpressing protests songs during Marcos Martial Law regime, same as Bob Dylan, Peter Paul & Mary in USA and your compatriot Bob Marly in Jamaica. But the one who contributed most of the group is Saro Banares though he was assassinated in his hometown in Cotabato due to his political advocacy, activism against Martial Law. That was a great lost for us of losing Saro Banares of 'Asin' because of his exceptional talent in composition/arrangement.
This is a beautiful song if you understand the lyrics. Hats off to asin band.
