Dr Raju Narayana Swamy I.A.S, anticorruption crusader of Kerala, is an alumnus of SB College , Changanacherry. He joined the college in 1983 after securing All Kerala First Rank in SSLC and passed out in 1985 with a First Rank in the Gandhiji University in Pre-Degree. Later he joined the I.A.S in 1991 with an all India first rank. A prolific writer and author of 33 books , Dr Swamy won the Kerala Sahitya Academy Award for his Travelogue in 2003. He is also a double Ph D holder - one doctorate being from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in Development , Ecology and Livelihood Security and another from National Law University in law. He also holds a Homi Bhabha Fellowship in Cyber law and has been awarded the Satyendra K Dubey Memorial Award by IIT Kanpur for his fight against corruption. Swamy is famous for his stint as District Collector Idukki where he spearheaded the demolition drive against illegal resorts in Munnar and for his tenure as District Collector Trichur where he single handedly widened five roads changing the face of the town. The present speech was delivered by him in his almamater in July 2024.
