You know what I’d like to see? Mods that are well optimized and good for medium or low end PC’s. It’s a pain to have to go through so many different mods until I can find one that doesn’t turn into a slideshow during bigger battles. For example Perisno. Fantastic mod, but I can’t even have the minimum amount of units. 150 without the game turning into a slideshow. Diplomacy mod on the other hand. Has improved graphics. Cooler looking armor. New beautiful cities and castles and maps. New units and I’m still able to have 600+ units on the field with minimal lag.
I get the frustration. However, modders arent like developpers in that optimization is never a goal. Mods like perisno are heavy because of the detailed units and items, and taming the textures down for sake of accessibility would be, well, defeating the purpose.
@@TerryDuke I totally get that. You wouldn’t happen to be willing to do a video on which mods are more demanding and which are easier to run would you?
Already did that for Perisno, but I'm also very personally invested in that mod, as it's my favorite. I'm not sure about investing that same amount of time into different mods, yet. There would have to be considerable, consistent success. We'll see.
I was a little confused why couldn't you use Warband Battle Sizer to increase battle size? In most cases in any mods it's fine to run around 350-400 battles, though sieges can suffer when units collide with each other.
As far as I know, it needs to be implemented into the mod. In native mod, the battle size option only goes up to 150. Mods that allow for bigger battles typically change this setting to let it go up higher. That is not the case with Age of sword and sorcery. Other mods like Perisno allow us to set how many reinforcement waves we want per engagement, which also technically means battles involving thousands of troops can be fought in a single engagement, although probably a very long one.
@@TerryDuke You are correct the Native option for Battle size in-game is limited unless the mod has a different setting, however there is a tool that I have used since forever called "Warband Battle Sizer" which over rules the Native settings to whichever you prefer. Of course when running some crazy heavy mods like Warsword the game will occasionally crash at ~400 men, but even 350 men is infinitely better. :) You should try it if you haven't.
@@TerryDuke If you go to documents (not where you have the main game installed, specifically the documents folder) and then into the Mount and Blade Warband folder, you’ll find a text file named rgl_config. Open that and you’ll find a variety of settings, but what’s important in this context will be battle_size (use ctrl+f if you have trouble finding it). Next to that will be a value set at 1.000, this number is a multiplier of the default 150 battle size. You can edit this value to be whatever you want - for instance 1.500 is roughly 225, 3.000 is roughly 450, etc. Using this you can set battle size as high as you please regardless of mod, though beware as of course if you set it too high it can cause crashes. Once you change the value to what you desire, exit the file and save your changes, find your warband.exe launcher (this will be where the game is actually installed), right click on it, and run it as administrator (or if you’re using a mod that uses WSE like Floris or Warsword right click on the WSE shortcut and run that as administrator). This ensures the rgl file will not be reset, as occasionally if the game is initially launched without administrator privilege it will default the value back to 1.000. After the first launch as administrator you can launch as normal. You can quickly and easily change this at any time, even mid-playthrough or if you’re switching to a more or less stable mod that can handle more or less troops in the field. Hope this helps you make more epic battles!
New Discord Server! Come hang out: discord.gg/YzGBHxx77A
This mod has the potential to rival both Perisno and Pendor, i only wish someone could refine and continue the development.
This mod could be one of the greatest. The only thing missing is more banners.
And heraldic shields, cause these are weirdly missing.
Not enough butter and feasts too 😄
@@TerryDuke I see you are truly a magnificent man of good upbringing and education, it is true, my biggest downer to be honest.
come on man, I already have 5 mods in my backlog, you just making the list longer T^T
this is really cool, glad to see a warband mod channel cross my recommendations maybe I should get back into this great game
As a martial artist i really like this animation.
Nice Video, didn't know the mod exists!
Btw, you can use the Warband Battle Sizer to adjust it on top of every mod you play, :)

Or rather, it's bloated, but they have different priorities.

Maybe u can do videos explaining the lore of different factions, their troop trees etc in different warband mods?..MAYBE

Hey bro! You forgot to mention that there is also arenas mode in the thieves guild!

@@TheEtherea See my reply to Terry on how to edit the battle size yourself, no plug-in needed!
@@jacob74947 You can do it this way, but I find it more convenient to simply use that tool which does it with a press of 1 button.
I wonder if you can list mods that allow players Customize Troops..

I tried this mod because of this video and unfortunately it is horribly buggy
It is? Worked fine for me.
