Yes, I've been riveting impressed by Herbie ever since first hearing him on Wayne Shorter's superb Adam's Apple album in 1966. During the early 70s I got into Herbie's Mwandishi period recordings @ The Different Fur Trading Company in San Francisco, and listened to Eddie's INSIDE OUT (? I think; can't access my vinyls at the moment!) THEN, of course, came Herbie's MONUMENTAL composition CHAMELEON, and the face of modern jazz was transformed forever. Always WONDERED whether "Doctor" Eddie Henderson was an actual MD. Thanks for answering this existential worry!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Incidentally -- in connection with the many subsequent versions of CHAMELEON -- have you, Pablo, or indeed any correspondent with your site -- heard the SHEKERE AND CHAMELEON version (provider: CLEANTONES)? Not only does Bennie play a VERY soulful introductory tenor saxophonist solo, but Herbie follows with a long, BURNING e-piano solo: 1 of the best that I've ever heard from HIM. .. And THEN he follows THAT by a SCORCHING, but all-too-brief, ARP synthesiser solo worthy of JAN HAMMER at his best.
I have always been a fan of Eddie's, and (of course) Herbie's too. In addition to loving and respecting their artistry, I am dually interested because I went to medical school for 2 years, and then got a PhD in psychology. I later went on to play with many people and do a good amount of recording. I followed Jerry Bergonzi in Dave Brubeck's Quartet in the early 80's, and later played and toured with the Pat Martino quartet in the early 200's. Also, played and recorded with many others....no need to mention here! So, I have always been so intrigued with Eddie as a physician too. I have never met him, but hope it happens some day......Thank you Pablo.
What an interview! I love hearing all these stories about the masters.

Hello Pablo, who is playing that piano intro and outro? (And name of tune/album?)
Hey, that’s me, at home. Just a voice memo. I’m playing Herbie‘s tune „Revelation“ - Eddie played this with Mwandishi and on a few of his own albums.
@@PabloHeldmusic Sounds great - has that "Herbieesque" lushness to it :-)
