I was hoping to find someone who knew how to play the version of this song Amy does with just the acoustic guitar and you do such a great job with it. That's exactly how I want to play it on mine. You do a nice job explaining it and I thank you for putting this on. I had the exact same feelings about her also passing away far too young.

Very nice. I was figuring out the chords on bass by ear, and consulted several chord sequences written by various guitarists on the web. Everyone of them had it wrong. You're the first that I've seen who got it right.

Yamaha F310 is the most popular beginner guitar, but the best option is to try a few out in a shop. Take a friend who can play if you're skills are very basic, and read some reviews.

Big song! I'm not sure if I'll have time to learn it tough. I generally put out tutorials for songs I learn for my 121 students as it's hard to find the time to learn new stuff. There are some decent covers out there though, where you can see what the guitarist is doing.

I try bro, but most of it seems to fall on deaf ears - these days all people want are to be told where to put their fingers, and what direction to strum. I get that ppl just want that instant info, but in the long run it stunts musical growth - what can you do though 🤷♂️

This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while actually. Stronger Than Me was the 1st Amy song I learned to play, & I still use it to teach my private students their first set of jazz chords.
Hopefully I’ll find some extra time over the Christmas break & get it done ✊

I'm having trouble adding on those 16th notes. Do you have any recommendations or tutorials? They make the whole piece sound more fleshed out and jazzy
Great video man. One question,, how exactly are you fretting the Bb7? I'd prefer to play it the way in this video, not the full barre
Justin Gonzalez cheers man. I was never good at barring so I learned how to use my thumb. For the Bb7 you wrap your thumb around the E string 6th fret, leave out the A string, then play D string 6th fret with your index finger, G string 7th fret with your 3rd finger, and B string 6th fret with your second finger. The A string would be playing the 5th which you don’t really need, and the high e is just an octave above the root so that can also be removed. Hope this makes sense.
I’m gonna start putting up new videos next month, one of the new features will be an extreme closeup chord breakdown. I’m also gonna do applied theory lessons and covers for every tutorial I make.

This would be a great choice for your first song, but the bar chords could be a little tricky. Take a look at ‘Stronger Than Me’ then decide (this was the 1st Amy Winehouse song I learnt) 🤓

Awesome lesson and probably the best video about this song. The only thing I would change is the talking. A little too much.
that numbers next the chord.. what it that mean? please
it says on which fret you have to put your fingers. for example if its "Ab - 466544" it means you have to put your fingers on 4th fret on 6th string, 6th fret on 5th string, 6 fret on 4th string, 5 fret on 3rd string, and 4th fret on 2sn and 1st string.
