I have a 2020 gentian blue 992 c2, 6k miles, car of my dreams, yes it’s gone up a bit but why sell it for another which will depreciate faster? Keep, love and enjoy it. Then at the end of your pcp buy it from the finance company, *then* sell it.
Well that's the problem isn't it. I could move over and take on something that looses money dropping like a stone. My thought was to do as I had done with my Cayman which was to sell and buy something cheap cash till I found the next car I wanted to get into. But I think I will continue on as you say as I really have no idea what I would change to and this really was one of the cars I always wanted. I just can't help crunching the numbers! If the new builds are starting to stack up for new cars then this should hold good value still for a while longer.
if you don't mind used or CPO, you could trade it in for a 2018 GT3! Those things don't depreciate as much AND are more fun to drive. Too bad those things went up so much during quarantine, at least here in Canada. I bought a 2018 718 Cayman S two years ago and only ended up losing 7k on it assuming my current sale goes through! Absolutely insane!
Problem is I use this car every day to get back and forward to work. I don't think I would want to use something like that to commute lol. So that's part of the problem what could I pivot towards if I did. That's really good! My 718 was a 2018 ex demo. Bought at a second hand price and ran it for a year and got out with low loss too. I think these cars in general hold value due to the fact they are made to order rather than mass produced. I have never experienced a car going up in value after a year though lol. Hopefully I can ride the value wave closer to the 2 year point and see what my options are!
I'm planning to put a deposit down for a GTS which I know many 992 C2/4/S owners are planning to do. This "could" have an effect on the amount of 2/3 year old cars on the market when released and will effect values. The microchip shortage and Covid are having a big effect on 911 production and therefore new car availability is going to be limited or take longer to delivery for a good while. Speak to your OPC, its in their interest to get you into a new car and will give you options to consider beyond WBAC (that never factor in the ££,£££s 911 owners pay on options).
Yeah I am interested to see what the landing price of that GTS car is going to be. So it doesn't surprise me that you say that. It has crossed my mind!
Good news Steve. Used car prices appear to be going up across the board due to low new car inventories. My four year old Carrera with just under 27000 miles is worth an average trade in value of $77,645 with a high of $80,798, according to Kelly Blue Book. I paid $110,000 for the car new. I see that fans are being let back into EPL games. That is good news. Cheers 😎
Hey Gilbert! Yes I know I was really surprised! I’m hoping I can ride the wave a little before the value starts to drop. I really thought I’d be much further down in the cars value adding to the money lost through the finance. It’s good to know yours is holding up well too in that market as well! Thanks for sharing that info. Yes I think it’s a good time they did sport is not the same without the fans. They have been doing some test events for music etc as well to see if people spread it. All the best!
That's the biggest question! There's no sensible value in jumping to anything else in an inflated second hand market. This will drop back into depreciation once cars come available and so would anything else I buy. Can't order a new Porsche without it being 9-12 months waiting list right now either from what people have commented from their orders. So I think it's a hold and watch for me although there are other cars I fancy trying. It could be waiting to see what comes with the 992.2 model and deciding from there. I am just as undecided to be honest. Love this 992 C2 but I'm half way through my PCP. I always liked the Mercedes AMG GT as something different. Maybe even an R8. I am not a fan of the newest dropping designs of BMW's at all so no M cars in my future I don't think.
@@Get10Yards yes i agree! I thought the same thing. I’ve had my 992 for 2 years with 6k miles so they are fetching close to what I bought the car for but to your point there is nothing else out there I really want. I thought of an r8, m8 comp and even a amg gt. I didn’t pull the trigger on the amg because I couldn’t get over the long nose plus they don’t hold there value. I’m thinking of waiting for the gts or a gt3 if I can get an allotment. We will see. Love the channel!
I have a 991.2 Carrera T, the dilemma is similar - I can make $20k compared to when I purchased used last year, but what do you replace it with? Nothing compares to a 911.
You cant just walk into a dealer and order a NEW GT3. I know I've tried. Most UK OPCs only have 1-3 build slots per cycle and those go to selected customers who were waiting back in 2019.
That’s a good point. I remember when I ordered this car I asked about deposit values on other cars. They told me they had £10k deposits already in for a turbo slot. They didn’t even know what it looked like yet. So I can imagine I’d never have a chance at getting a slot for a GT3 etc.
You’re likely in a queue for a build slot to be allocated. You’re deposit will be refundable up to the car starting build but they will ask you for final build spec before that happens once it has a slot. It took 2 months for my slot to be confirmed and that was pre covid. 5 months in all till i took delivery. That was the case with my car. As soon as it was allocated i was contacted by the dealer.
Don't worry that's fairly normal. Plus, Covid and the microchip shortage is having a big effect on production times so hold tight. You can always get your deposit back if you need to, but you lose your place in the queue.

An informative view on current car pricing !
Appreciated! Thanks for watching

If you sale it, what would you get? Im in a similar position in my 2020 2S, but I I don't know what I would get for now.

Indeed that's the problem isn't it!
Lmao cash it in order a gt3 👀
lol I really would if I thought I could manage that jump in finance. Mite have to wait till theres some second hand and do a trade deal on mine haha

We have ordered a new entry level 911 and 2 1/2 weeks have gone by without a response from dealer for a build and delivery date despite £5k deposit

My OPC told me new 911 build slots are well into 2022 now for RHD cars. You only get the call when your slot is confirmed.

@@RichardDennys Oh boy. I may be a year older
@@mattsurrey6138 That is reassuring. Will have to wait it out with the years passing
