this is honestly great content and hits a more realistic register of new cooks, teenage, or new dorm college people without looking too Buzzfeed-y good job!
I like Nikita! Great energy and just the kind of confidence new cooks need. Love this idea, just one suggestion: flash the ingredients when introducing the recipe, along with the tools!
What an amazing idea! I really love your recipes since they are so versatile. For most of them, it's possible to change the veggies, protein, and seasonings to adapt it to the season and to the guests. It is always good to have such recipes at hand.
Lovely video! Thank you :) The first three recipes are probably, in order, the first three recipes I ever wanted to cook for myself. Slightly nostalgic to see them on your list!
Nikita had a great personality and sense of humor. Mixed with her knowledge and ability to make cooking feel truly do-able, she is a perfect host. I hope to see more of her!
Nikita brings a grounding and accessible approach to learning how to cook. She is absolutely perfect for teaching a newbie wanna-be cook such as myself. Can NYT make this on ongoing series? Please!!
This is the perfect video for beginners. I don't cook very often, but I've made half of these recipes before and she taught me some new things that I can try next time.
Got through life without cooking for the longest time. But gotta start it at some point. This is a very good realistic beginner video. The other beginner videos have such unrealistic expectations. Thank you so much for this Nikita.
Love the video and even shared it. Happy to meet Nakita and hope to see more of her. I was shocked and appalled at the beginning of the video with a man off camera asking her why the audience should take her word that these are easy beginner recipes. As if she, a senior editor at NYTimes Cooking needs to convince the audience that she’s qualified. As a decades’ long watcher of NYT Cooking videos, I’ve never seen an off camera voice ask Melissa Clark, Mark Bittman, or any other presenter to justify themselves to the viewers. Why in this case did the senior editor have to do so?’
Hi! Loved this video. Nikita is AMAZING. Also, please add official closed captioning rather than the auto-generated. Makes a heck of a difference! Thank you!
The idea of using the coconut milk solids as a cooking fat is pure genius. Will definitely be experimenting with this! Great tips and recipe templates for quick/easy meals.
Love Nikita! What an infectious laugh (: Also, the tip about using the coconut fat to cook your aromatics in was a new one for me! will definitely give it a try!!
Great video! How did you cook the rice? I'm trying to figure out the best way and how to cook rice has been one of my basic questions. I've used microwavable pouches for a while, but want to be able to experiment with different kinds of rice.
I love videos like this because not only do you learn from the video itself but you get to read all the tips and tricks everybody in the comments section
any subs for coconut milk in curry? i know that's like the whole point of the curry flavor but my family refusesssss to taste any hint of coconut😅 also! i just wanna say this is so so helpful and i love nikita's personality! as a experienced home cook myself for years i know how to make basic guac and basic french toast and such but i've also done so many elaborate dinner projects that take up so much time...sometimes you just want a basic chili for dinner! it's really aways great to go back to basics/quick recipes that always come out good. nobody wants to be washing 40 dishes every night lol please have more of this please NYT!!!
I can make all these, but that’s a good tip adding the lemon juice to the onion 1st for gauc. Never understood how to use raw onion in a salad, now I do. Thanks.
Love a simple roast chicken thigh with potatoes. I like to add garlic powder and cayenne pepper powder for more flavor and a kick! + carrots for some vegetable intake

More Nikita! Wonderful presenting! All the recipes sound good.

It honestly makes me very proud to see how many of these I’ve already made. Being a home cook is so fun!
Lovely video! Thank you :) The first three recipes are probably, in order, the first three recipes I ever wanted to cook for myself. Slightly nostalgic to see them on your list!
Nikita is a literal ray of sunshine. Please give her a show of her own where she does recipes like these.
We need to make this a series!
If Nikita had her own cooking show, I'd watch! 😂 She's very encouraging! Wouldn't have guessed that she doesn't cook on a regular basis.
Nikita is so sweet and I learned such great tips! Need more Nikita contentttttt

I love Nikita's energy! More of her, please!!!! :)
Nikita really wants people to get cooking and not shy away because ingredients or equipment are too hard to get. I really love that.
Loved this even as a solid home cook. More Nikita!
Nikita is amazing and encouraging. Love her humor and laughs too. I will definitely try some of these recipes.

Love the yogurt with the roasted veggies. Greek yogurt is one of my favorite ingredients but I always forget to use it in savory dishes.
Immediately yes. More Nikita please

I love videos like this because not only do you learn from the video itself but you get to read all the tips and tricks everybody in the comments section
Something about Nikita makes me feel a little more positive and hopeful in these most trying of times.
I've been building up my cooking skills, and your presentations showed me some new thinking, and not to forget simpler dishes. Thanks!

Love her!

What brand of pan are you using?
Good cooking
Love a simple roast chicken thigh with potatoes. I like to add garlic powder and cayenne pepper powder for more flavor and a kick! + carrots for some vegetable intake
A great video for beginning cooks. It always cracks me up when grown ups declare, "I don't know how to cook." WTH! Do you eat Chipotle every night?
“The limit does not exist” 😂
I really like her. More, please.
In Texas, we add garlic to our guacamole 🥑! Fun video. Tuna treatment interesting. Just made yogurt sauce/dip. Yummy 😋
french toast should have a dash of vanilla extract and cinnamon sugar
What is the bread for cheese casadia
But how do you cook the rice?

I am here for the Julia Child voice
Fun video with great concepts but maybe don't demonstrate using metal spatula with the non-stick pan 😬
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️
Yammy
would love a Julia child voice the whole time 😂😂❤❤
I would have dropped some jalapeños into that quesadilla.
