dude I fucking love the way you directed this. so funny
If Dax set up this gallery any time sooner, UA-cam's Bastard would have stole all this art.
* Ahem * Joel and Drew collab. * Ahem *
@@wandering_sparkThey already colabbed
It was nice of Joel to let you out of the corner after what you did to him
disliked, thanks
So many unexplained small touches, but my favorite is the headlamp. Guy's just out there living his life, blinding everyone he talks to. Truly an inspiration for all of us.
A great spotlight for Dax's speech
he was feeling a little Light-Headed
5:04 "Am I crazy...?" - Me, seeing how everyone around me seems to be operating based on Haver rules - Too close, guys , too close...
its dax tapping the glass just a microsecond too long for me
He's shining a light on society.
Man that “What do you have to offer?” line is brutal 😅 great execution by Dax
dude couldn't even respond ;-;
It does make you think though... Or at least me.
@@Bananabeaconjust say loyalty. without hesitation. ez
The genuine curiosity in his tone 💀
@@Bananabeacon It's not a bad question to ask yourself about others, at least. You can waste a lot of time and energy on the wrong kind of people if you're not careful.
about time dax stands up for himself and gets recognition as the exquisite artist he is. hope his art goes viral.
🌚
Dax is done being gaslit and manipulated, pure sigma energy going forward.
Joel, this is unironically your best work as far as framing and staging goes.
He is getting really good. The quality and the cut work is top notch. You can tell he has a passion for it. I really want him to make it big and make movies. I bet he would make ridiculously funny movies. He gives me big Wes Anderson vibes.
Yeah I unconsciously tapped into this video as I was scrolling the homepage and I was expect the regular awkward interactions skits but I kept getting taken aback by how, er, perfect(?) the scenes looked, like especially the way those two stood shoulder to shoulder behind each character, at that specific angle facing each other
@@jeckol3200 yeah but if he gets big he's gonna have to cut you out of his life unless you have something to offer..
@@jeckol3200 Joel > Wes Anderson
@@jeckol3200he already does make movies. He’s made 11 feature films on his channel and he made them all with no money. And the beauty of that is he owns them, no studios need to be involved
Those art pieces were truly breathtaking, I no longer blame Dax for breaking into Joel's house and setting up an entire gallery without permission. Anybody would be honored to have art of that caliber in their house!
I also love the intense stare all the visitors have when they examine the art lol
ALSO shameless plug, I'm hoping some of you might like the music I make too :)
This is the second time Joel's house has been broken into
@@PaintingWinterMusic Would you be friends with me when you blow up? I have a decent commenting streak going.
quit sucking up to him... I'm actually his friend.
Dax's art combined with Trent's music would be an unstoppable creative force.
He has two grammies he HAS to
I love how everyone immediately turns to check when he says it's not a self portrait, haha.
That shot is straight out of a Wes Anderson movie
Cut to it DEFINITELY being a self portrait😂
Dax's "yeah for sure" after "so youre gonna stop being friends with us" was heartbreaking, and hilarious
Dax has perfected the awkwardly confident character and it's so unique and fun. The whole question about Dax having a key to the house and how he set up the art gallery so quietly, with all these people just suddenly in the garage that's not a garage at all. It's just beautifully crafted comedy. I love it to so much.
As a punk-rock musician i gotta say: i really appreciate all the punk-rock you put into your videos. Thanks!
My favorite punk rocker is Mozart, what’s yours?
Lmao
@@Sashazur I'm pretty humble, so I'd have to say my favorite punk rocker is definitely myself
@@ToxicBananawhy did you make a video showing how to remove Bulgaria from the map of Europe I am mad because I liked Bulgaria how could you do this I hate you because you got rid of Bulgaria from the map of Europe so now I can't enjoy the cool things in Bulgaria anymore, including all that stuff that's Bulgarian for example, and I just really do not like that you got rid of Bulgaria from the map of Europe because now I can't enjoy all those cool Bulgarian things, such as Bulgarian stuff, for example, anymore. This just really goes to show the deplorable influence of Spencer on the youth these days like everyone gets offended when the offender offends the offended but the offended fails to defend the defender from the offender just like me right now because I am mad at you because you got rid of Bulgaria from the map of Europe and now I can't enjoy my favorite Bulgarian pastimes, which include Bulgarian pastimes such as Bulgarian activites, anymore.
a punk-rock musician? please name all the punks, and then also name everything that is not punk; accompanied by an additional list of everything that is more punk rock than punk rock itself.
As a classical musician i gotta say: i really appreciate all the classical music you put into your videos. Thanks!
Composition student here, and fully agreed!
(this is Beethoven's Violin Concerto, if anyone's wondering. The finale)
@@klop4228 Thanks! I always wonder about where people get there background music from.
I was thinking that too. I love how the video plots kind of go along with the temperament of the music.
Yeah, me too. Also, I've got this really cool project I'm working on right now and I think it's gonna go viral soon. Btw, do you remember when I saved your life in 4th grade?
Yeah, and the fact that it's Beethoven gives the whole skit a little Clockwork Orange vibe to it
you know its good art when you start speaking gibberish italian
It's funnier for me with the context that he's just there to support his friend
It wasn't gibberish though. It was delicious!
I love how the apparent premise of "Dax hijacked Joel's garage for an apparently legitimate art exhibit even though all the art is kinda amateurish" is so quickly abandoned in favor of "the effects of fame distilled by Dax actually saying the quiet part loud".
Dax please hear me out....
What do you have to offer?
I realized i made a misstep in liking your comment as you had 69 likes beforehand. I have removed my like to compensate
Joel, I am depressed and in my head today and I just wanted to say your video really cheered me up. Sometimes when I’m in a funk I’ll go to your old videos or if I’m lucky, it’s timed where there is a new one, and the absurd humor and simplicity is really grounding! You remind me that the truth behind creating something neat is first showing up. And that life is allowed to be simple. Thanks for that, Joel and the gang! Love your work ❤
I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having a rough day. Deep breaths, this too shall pass. I’m glad my videos could provide you some comfort through the difficult times. Thanks for watching❤️ I wish you well my friend!
Ah yes, the Garage Period for Dax was when he found the flame in his heart. I’ve seen several of his works at prestigious art galleries and they always move me to at least one tear. A true artist.
Everything, from the thumbnail to the acting, was perfect in this one.
Dax was born for this part!
I know haha, an awkward asshole fits Dax way too well
The thumbnail looks like a straight to dvd cover 😂
"No. You have to like me." is a great line!
Agreed. The whole Dax & Calvin exchange is great!
"I think we should never have gotten divorced" killed me. Excellent line
All I know for sure is that Spencer has made me hungry for Italian food.
Weird, I'm actually hungry for dogs. Maybe on a bed of snow.
As a carpenter I have to say: I love all the doors you put in your skits.
Amazing artwork Dax
Um actully
Incredible to see how far mo-cap technology has come since 2011. Excited for Mars Still Needs Moms!
The hypocrisy of Dax not wanting to be around any "losers or narcissists" while simultaneously wanting to boot anybody from the friend group he pleases is great
Sounds good Daxy 🤟😛🤟
it's actually kinda wholesome how Joel isn't even mad this is all happening in his garage, he's just curious, like snow dog digging in the snow or something like that idk, never watched the movie
I watched that movie
@@BurningFirn me too
@@gustavotavarezlora5261 It was wild when that thing happened
the tasteful editing, the subtle lens flare, the nuanced dialogue, this video is absolutely sublime!
It goes insaneo style
It even has a watercolor...
"subtle lens flare"
meanwhile the headlamp is blinding everyone lolol
10/10 video, best video about an artist blowing up i've ever seen.
Next time I act up just bite me on the ear (snow dogs reference)
Hey Joel, in case you are reading this comment,
I just wanted to say that to me your cinematic part of the videos really increased the last sketches with all thoes surrealistic-ish compositions, weird actors placement and not only. But what gives it this top notch is not even the visual part of it, but the fact that it blends with the story so well!
Anyways, the reason I even wrote this comment in the first place was because I saw that your recent uploads didnt receive as much views as you would expect it to, and I just wanted to say that its not because the content quality decreased or anything done on your side, really. I think you just need to wait some time for another popularity wave. Keep it up man, you really found a perfect role for Dax in this one.
Every time Dax walks into the room, my anxiety spikes. In a good way.
Seeing Mason in a video again was a real joy. Always love seeing folks from the OG crew!
Mason rocks! If we still lived close by we’d be making stuff all the time, miss that boy!
Oh my god is he in the FaceTime??
Mars still needs Joel
the headlamp was such a stupid and funny prop, it's also subtly funny that it puts a spotlight on Dax when he's speaking, it really adds to his viral artist star power
also Joel how far did you have to reach to get that copy of snow dogs
When Dax is giving his speech the spotlight goes to his crotch
Dax really asking "what do you have to offer me" when standing in the spotlight he made for him...
I think it's about time you gave Dax a key to your place. It may get you on his good side.
I feel like Dax's acting was over the roof. His character had the same vibes during the whole video and his face expressions at the last part were right on point. Also, the whole team was great! Great writing, very funny short, keep up the good work Joel!
Lol… 0:59 eh, is that something people do at art showings? Wear a headlamp… I’m laughing but also naive if that’s to be expected? I’m thinking, “well what if they’re slightly color blind and need more light to see the colors?” But then start to think, “color blind people don’t simply need more light to see colors, they’re blind to it. It would be like giving a headlamp to a blind person expecting them to see better.” … so0 it must be a vegetarian thing because I know nothing about that.
If you ain't got a cave light in an art galleria, you're just looking at pictures
😂😂😂 I loved this, this is kind of really how it feels when one of your friends starts succeeding and has to go through the phase of it going to there heads and leaving everyone to get to the top just to come back embarrassed and apologizing, this video also shows how absurd doing something like that is and I thought it was really funny when the closest friend was confused n treated as the least important, I love your videos and I needed a laugh today, great job to everybody and thank you joel I hope your having a great week
I love how Dax just effortlessly makes people lose their shit
So many cool shots! The moment when everyone turns at the same time felt so wes Anderson - but the vibe of the interactions felt tied to modern social elements - wonderful as always, Joel!
The lag in Mason's call was so perfect. Also Spencer needs to shut up for once in his life
THIS
raise ur hand if u dont wana hear spencer whining anymore
🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️
This was a perfect marriage of a person using the word narcissist and being a narcissist at the same time. Hilarious in a twisted world of blowing up in a friend’s’ garage. Loved this.
Dax's art is really going to go insaneo style.
💯
Behind the scenes, I wonder if these were actually Dax's best recent paintings, or if he deliberately selected simple, humble looking works to contrast with his character's outsized ego for comedic purposes
Sometimes the mundane conversations at the beginning of the video are the most exciting part. You never know how long it will be until the main part of the sketch starts, or if the sketch will be a part of the conversation. They're also just very interesting every time.
As a music musician i gotta say: i really appreciate all the musical music you put into your videos. Thanks!
My favorite part of this is that Joel and Calvin went to all the effort of dressing up before going into the garage gallery.
Joel Haver is the human manifestation of destiny
"Quit pissin on my fuse, I'm trying to blow up, brotha." I am never gonna get that line ouf of my head
Dax Joel Haver skits are youtube endgame level content. 100% GOAT candidates. Coming back 10 years later is going to be wild.
I love when out of nowhere there's a huge cast but then every character really brings something iconic to the table. So fun 😁
The look of disconnect with reality in Dax's face is amazing.
0:14 that little pause you do, "I'm doing a little art thing in the... uh... garage..." is great comedic timing. The little details.
The way boys enter art room is indisputable proof they are neighbor's kids in adult form
The bot isn't even trying anymore.
@@endaburns2121 Bot sounds sort of Slavic missing out articles like that
Dax is such gold. He brings such incredible energy to any sketch he's in.
As a Mom from Mars i gotta say: I really appreciate all the Moms from Mars you put into your videos. Thanks!
Finally Mason is back, when was the last time he was on a Joel video? One of my favourites of the OG Joel's gang
3:50 my fav moment, that "waht" cracked me up I don't know why
he looked genuinely confused at the mere concept of staying loyal to a life-long friend
3:08 when he says i would not fuck with you it caught me so off guard
I love how natural this all comes off when Dax says it.
I know you said that you don't like using stage lights for your videos, but the way you used them starting at 2:27 was really impressive and made the whole video much better than it would've been otherwise.
Best incorporation of Dax’s natural mannerisms in a scripted format so far.
He’s also become a much better actor too
Still trying to figure out what I have to offer
I love how he never bothers explaining how he broke into Joel's garage and set up an entire art gallery without anyone noticing 😂
Great video of Dax and his art! shame about all those minor characters taking up screen time, though
Another homer from Joel. Loved the way this one was shot. Also, I know most of your guy's dialogue is improvised, and I cannot imagine how you come up with all of this great stuff on the fly. The endings where everyone loses their shit and breaks into laughter are always so cathartic, because I know I'd be struggling to hold it together if I was in the room. 10/10.
5:12 I lost my shit.
The entire time I was just like is anyone going to mention the headlamp. Perfect delivery by just getting immediately pissed off about it LMFAO
I can’t really overstate how great this was. So good. Dax is a master of this type of comedy.
I'm loving the almost cartoonish blocking you've been using recently, like when the three of you open the door and have that little vertical lineup in the doorway. It really tickles my brain nice.
Its in joels skits you really get to see Daxes true comedy acting shine. I Dont know if its Joels direction, or Daxes ability to expand whats given to him - but its amazing.
"Quit pissin' on my fuse, I'm tryina blow up brotha" has definitely entered my vernacular
When they broke character at the end and started laughing they got me
i think Brittney was right and Dax just didn't want to admit that was a self portrait
This is top 3 best sketches for sure. I can't stop laughing at every small detail.
2:39 missed oportunity of turning this into a bomb threat
_5 secs later_
_shows the bomb vest_
First Brad Pitt, then Drew Gooden, now Dax Flame? Joel, you really need to start investing in better security for your house with all these people getting in.
As a garage i gotta say: i really appreciate all the garages you put into your videos. Thanks!
Dax was PURE GOLD in this. I want more of that kinda narcissism from him.
glad mason's back
Mason always nails it. It would be cool if he moved to LA. Get the dads back together, like Led Zeppelin.
When he was saying random Italian shit, he said "puttanone" instead of "puttanesca" which basically means "huge whore". Thanks so much for that! I can't stop thinking about some guy just staring at some art and calling it a massive whore.
Dax and Joel combined are like the Captain Planet of UA-cam comedy
I'm late as usual but LOVE IT! You're blessed to have so many talented friends. Yes, I might be sucking up for when (if) you all 'Blow Up'.
Joel's skits make me do 3 to 4 legit spit takes per video. It's just so unexpected and i love it so much
1:08 is the most Hunter Thompson that Joel has ever looked
Words can’t describe how much I enjoy consuming these videos. Just brilliant every single time.
I like that Dax broke into and used Joel's garage to launch himself, but cut Joel out immediately, before even leaving the garage.
dax is such a treasure. you all are!
The art world is legit 100% this terrible and pretentious. Art is cool, but the art world - not so much. I have literally seen situations very similar to this in real life.
this is an instant Joel Haver classic!

If it weren't for this channel i would probably believe Dax Flame was real. But it's obvious here that he's a comedy genius doing a lifelong bit. We are so blessed.

Would have been a great sketch but Spencer just wouldn't stop talking! Ruined the whole thing for me.
That painting is identical to Dax, but ok
