  • The Cruiser 15.8 is the midsize to larger option in our Cruiser series, which also incudes the 12.8, 14.8, and 16.8. As a high volume/high performance tripping platform, it can handle a significant weightload while also being incredibly efficient. Join Bill at our Algonquin HQ as he walks you through the boat, as well as provides a lesson about loading/unloading, launching, and paddling strokes for a pack boat.

The 15.8 Pack is by far the best canoe/kayak canoe I have ever owned, so easy to paddle and super comfortable … I use mine almost every day along the shore on the ocean. I mostly use a kayak paddle and I just love this pack boat, it just flies over the water! Definitely a winner, thank you Bill!

I love my 14'8" cruiser in expedition carbon. My wife and I both have cruisers. We've paddled a Tandem for years but every since my wife paddled her own boat she's not interested in the bow seat! Bill this is a very helpful video for us and we'll set to work on these various strokes. Really, can't thank you enough for taking the time. IN fact we'd like a whole series !

My 14.8 is the most enjoyable canoe/pack boat I’ve ever paddled - and portaged. Even when I’m taking it easy, it just covers ground so quickly and efficiently.

Great job Bill. I bought my 15.8 Cruiser las September. Love it. Nice to get some further instructions on turning, leaning, using a secondary canoe paddle and of course the double blade and especially getting in and out of the canoe safely in different situations at launching sites. Getting in an out is essential as you can flip the canoe if not careful. Did it once, luckily no one saw me. It was still quite emabarassing. I only made that mistake once. Your advice with the use of the paddle, is just what I needed to know. Thanks again.

I’m paddling mine for the second year now….never paddled anything more fun. The 14.8 might have been a slightly better fit, but I wanted the bit if extra room for stuff. can’t recommend it more.

I enjoy the paddling lessons that have been incorporated into Swift's recent videos. I have a 2019 Cruiser 14.8 which I love and named Halcyon Daze. Only change I would make is to not have gotten the backband seat. (I was transitioning from kayaks, too slowly I guess.) I plan to correct that next Spring; I just need to decide if I want to add one foot or two in length.

The advice that swift offered about choosing the length was if you have any doubts about the length being to short, go with the next size up. Thats what I did as I was looking at the 14.8 originally, but was having some doubts about the length, so I went with the 15.8 and It was the right decision. I love it.

my goodness Bill, that's a risky way to get into your boat.... for the paddle! especially a carbon Werner, yikes! i have Werner's as well, and i'm not quite as big as you, clearly you have utmost faith in this product! i'm a bit more cautious.....

Does the seat come out? For instance can i sit on it by the camp fire? How would the boat hold up in class 3 rapids?
