I absolutely love my Prospector 14 Pack Boat. Great for photography, fishing, and taking my 75lb dog with me. It was a pleasure to meet Bill in Algonquin Park last summer. Such a friendly guy with an incredible passion for the outdoors.
Still Loving my 14ft Prospector pack. the exact model you showed and the same colour. This canoe is so stable, carries a lot of gear and my Springer Spaniel with room to spare and it paddles like a dream with either a single blade or double blade paddle. Oh and did I mention that it is incredibly light at bout 32lbs... a dream to portage. Thanks Bill and Co for making me such a beautiful pack canoe... Dennis
I've spent 13 years now in my OT Pack...it suits me very well. That said, this is like watching Enzo talk about a Ferrari or Carol Shelby talking about a performance muscle car!
You sir, have a wonderful passion for your family's company and one day, just maybe one day... I will be lucky enough to own one. I'd prob go with the prospectors 14 as of now...but who knows.

I own a Prospector 14 in Expedition Kevlar. Still under 40 pounds and it has taken a fair number of hits in Class I-II and has zero structural damage, just a few scuffs. I have the standard two-position seat, so I can sit or kneel. Since I have some lower back issues, I like kneeling better, but that's just me. I have a Keewaydin 17 on order for a trip I'm doing in September!

Love everything about your boats, I would really benefit from one. But the price point is simply out of my budget. Not complaining about your price points, as you build just about the best design with the best material. I must just envy those folks that have the means to paddle such nice boats.

Bill, can you do a pack boat entry and exit? We have a 13.6 and would like to see procedure.
I really appreciate all of the informational videos you put out. Really helps. Unfortunately having so many great options makes choosing one difficult. I'm about to purchase a Cruiser and wondering about laminates. How durable is the carbon fusion laminate? How will it wear over time? I don't plan to be rough on my boat, but some rocks are sneaky. A little more insight on when to choose one laminate over another would be helpful. In particular, what can I expect in terms of wear over the years.
Generally speaking, if you're the type that pulls up to the shoreline and gets out of their boat, get Carbon Fusion. If you're the type that rams the shore until you're beached, get Kevlar Fusion. Both will last you forever. Only difference is with a major impact (whitewater, high-speed rock hit, etc) a carbon boat will require gel coat repair before a Kevlar boat does. Carbon is slightly less flexible, therefore less impact resistant. I would watch our 2021 tech video and you can see the laminates being scratched, stretched, etc.

How much to ship a Cruiser 15.8 or a P14 to Palo Alto, CA? I'd order one this year if available. There are tons of small lakes in the Sierra Nevada that these boats would be perfect for. You guys really need to have a presence on the West Coast. I see the nearest dealer is in Louisiana?
Do longer pack boats track better than short ones? I've never tried any pack boat, I'm just wondering if the same rule that applies to kayaks also applies to pack boats.
Yes the same rules apply. Generally speaking the longer the waterline length, the faster and straighter tracking the boat will be. Pack boat hulls were initially based off kayak hull designs.

If you can put yellow on the bottom of a canoe,can I get an all yellow one?
Yes we can do a boat in all-yellow. Only consideration is that the more gel coat/paint you add, the greater the weight. A two-tone yellow bottom is 2-5 lbs depending on model, a full yellow paint job will be more.
What's the difference between packboat and canoe?
