Matteo, simply a superior mind. Everything starts from the brain. Technique, musical creative ideas, phrasing, musicality and more are direct consequences. First of all, he has an incredible head, that's what I think.
Superior mind = Baloney = musical prodigy (parents had him in music schools at a very young age that developed his incredibly easy 'talent'.) He hasn't worked at anything because his technique is as natural as breathing for the rest of us. If you're born with it, why call it talent?
Matteo Mancuso is already a guitar king. Even guitarists like Al Di Meola and Steve Vai talk about him.
Dear friend, despite having maximum respect for these two famous and talented guitarists, Matteo cannot be compared
with them, he is completely from another planet
"Even guitarists...talk". Not "Even guitarists...talks".
@@poppya54 I agree. Never seen and heared something like Matteo.
@@poppya54 i mean when Al Di Meola and Steve Vai say he plays stuff they can't you know you are looking at a guitarrist who should change the world of guitar. And i think he already has👍
not only talk about it but now Al did play a gig with Matteo this summer.
All three have been noticed by Yamaha. Their band is called SNIPS, they are from Sicily. At the time of the video they could not play into a bar in the states because under 21 :) Riccardo might have been
I certainly noticed it right away. I guess others did, too, but they might still be getting their jaws up off of the floor, 😆. I don’t think he could get the string hopping he does using a more standard approach. It’s phenomenal to watch. I wonder if it’ll catch on with newer players? It seems like it must require a very light, almost delicate, touch, generally, except for things like accents, etc. It’s a bit of a wonder to me that this technique hasn’t been utilized more widely already, but it just goes to show you that the possibilities of the instrument haven’t yet been exhausted, which is fantastic to see.

Think everybody who plays guitar noticed how he plays with his right hand! Its quite incredible. Feel like ive found something special having just found out about him!
No tremolo arm on any of his Yamaha's
Steve Vai mentioned Matteo as the best new guitarist he's heard so I searched him out this was the first song I found I allmost fell off my chair Jaco would have loved seeing these kids play this so so well
If someone played that to you without video, you'd think it was 3 seasoned old veterans.😮Wild man ❤
In this era of computers it is a pleasure to listen to some good organic stuff, thank you.
The Chicken was made popular by Jaco, but he didn’t write it... it was Pee Wee Ellis.
I was going to say that...Pee Wee Ellis wrote it...
@@ChromaticHarp Correct! It s sad the composer is not ;mentioned and lnot given any credit. Great video but the hosts should do their homework and not misinforming. I was pretty disappointed also at some interviews with Matteo where he would mostly give credit to white musicians even when it came to a challenging tunes such as Giant Steps . he was giving credit to the likes of Bob Mintzer as opposed to Coltrane.. Weird..!!

and he can play any style...gypsy, bebop, rock, fusion, classic, country...who can do that with so much musicality....just him !
Mancuso’s gypsy playing is so-so, but since you’re asking; Antoine Boyer can play anything and compose anything ( and several other of his compatriots including Sebastien Giniaux and Adrien Moignard ) at the absolute highest level !
@@FenceThis i did not say "Hé is the Best in gypsy " because i am à musicien in gypsy and i know quiet well the guys you mentionned . I just said "he can play any style", fact that those guys can not as well as Mancuso. Actuellement he is one of the best player of his génération. And please, not of the Word because it means nothing.
.
@@jean-pierreschaller9101 Antoine Boyer is same age and he’s more proficient, more original, more creative and a better player, he is absolutely the very best of his generation. He excels in all genres. Sebastien is an absolute monster with no limitations whatsoever and the same can be said about Adrien so I don’t know what you’re talking about; they’re just at the ultimate level. Mancuso is not a groundbreaker like people like to claim, he operates in a well known language from which he doesn’t seem to stray too far. The fact that he stylistic lies within a more America-centric scene that touches on shred rock fusion has all to do with his rising popularity compared to the ones I mentioned.
@@FenceThis That's your opinion - I respect it ...but it's not mine. I love the players that you mention, especilally the unbelievable Antoine Boyer. However, I think that they probably don't see all of this in terms of some kind of contest as you seem to do...
@@twangbarfly no, I don’t..
- the way you put it made it appear as if you did, I mean, I only gave an answer
My first reaction to Matteo was similar, something along the lines of 'here comes the new [super] hero of guitar'. The bass and drums are also phenomenal of course.
2017? That puts Matteo (and maybe all 3) at 21 at the time, wow. Ive watched more recent video of Matteo, live, and the kid's right hand picking technique is mind blowing.
Matteo un grande talento tutto italiano insieme alla sua band. Tanto rispetto e amministrazione
Ihr zwei seid köstlich.............mit eurer ganzen Miemik , denke ihr seid genauso gut drauf
..und genauso begeistert wie ich.
I usually don't watch 'REACTION' videos but it was in my suggestions and i saw it was about that amazing trio..that collectively blew my mind, a month or 3 back! Especially the Guitarist Mancuso is blowing up as we speak, and rightly so :)
I had a good chuckle when one of you said 'what's in their food?' - that was hilarious, and a good question!
I think these kids weren't ejected from a womb, but slowly emerged fromv 'the pocket' :D
Matteo Mancuso is the number one in the world now! He's incredible!
Iannelliblues Fortunately, there is no ranking:D But he is fantastic, I agree!
I honestly could agree with that statement. He's so amazing with that right hand picking style and his precision and improvisation insane.
Are you serious? You are speaking about matteo Mancuso .. but Riccardo is good but there are too many bassist better than him
@@andreaiacca2594 obviously he's not the best ever because there are a million guitar players. But as of rn in 2020 I think it's a legit argument. Just because he's playing jazz doesn't mean he's not one of the best at this moment in history. You don't gotta be on tv to be the best.
Guthrie Govan and Tommy Emanuelle are better in my humble opinion but Matteo is amazing.
Crazy how only recently people are discovering Matteo. This cover he did is old. All his vids are mind-blowing. He is a guitar phenom!!! Legend 🙌🏼
"The Chicken (or originally just "Chicken") was composed by the outstanding Jazz/Fusion Bassist Pee Wee Ellis in 1969.
What stikes me is the fact that not only these guys are from Mars or probably some other planet but the age of these kids is amazing; it's incredible that they have achieved so much, technicaly speaking, in such a short period of time.
As already commented by someone else, at their age, I was having trouble getting out of bed and opening the fridge to get some food....wow, what a looser I've been!!!
Matteo Mancuso is a total MONSTER. He does a version of Larry Carlton’s “Room 335” which is frightenlingly good.
He also is on an album called “Drift Lab” with some folks like Federico Malaman, Manuele Montesanti and Daniele Chiantese which is equally mindblowing.
Welcome to the Matteo Mancuso rabbit hole; enjoy your stay…
"What is in their food!"... Awwwesome bro.
Same version live with his Metteo's group call Snips. Just amazing....no word, just listen ! 3 incredible young guys and Matteo will be a great star in the near futur.....I'am jealous about his talent 😂😂 sniff snips !
" Jaco would be proud ",........ what a compliment
Musicians with decades of experience would be beyond proud to produce something like this. At this age, it's almost beyond belief, what on Earth will Matteo be like in the future?
I think the bass player is very best I have ever heard

The Matteo Mancuso band is the most dangerous band since Holdsworth's IOU era. As Chuck D. so eloquently stated when Nirvana hit the scene, "The torch has been handed to the next generation."
Matteo Mancuso ha introdotto un nuovo modo di suonare la chitarra....fantastico e sublime
Yeah, the great Jaco would be proud, but Pee Wee Ellis would be even more proud, since the piece is his not Jaco's! Probably not even Ellis' mother did know it, but it's true! :-)))
Then...
I'll reveal to you another "secret", giving you the opportunity to be the very first American able to pronounce Matteo's surname correctly! The sound of "s" is like the "z" in "zoo". Imagine it's wiritten "Mancuzo". I'm Italian, so you can trust me!
Congrats for this video, by the way. You and your guest are very nice.
Appreciate that, and thank you for watching. Thanks for the correct pronunciation, although we were aware Pee Wee Ellis wrote the tune. It's a jazz funk standard, I know of at least five artists that have covered it.
PS, in case you weren't aware, Chicken is the B-side to James Brown's 1969 single "The Popcorn". 🤘

FYI: This song was originally composed by Pee Wee Ellis, long-time associate of James Brown and Van Morrison. Plus, this might be the best video you've reacted to thus far, as these youngsters are beyond reproach!! And it is nice
to see and hear some younger folks making actual tunes for a change instead of the AutoTuned crap that a lot

Very well said! 👍
You have to wonder how Matteo could get better. He is redefining what fingers can do.
Mancuso is lightyears ahead of us

Matteo the next GOAT , he just did a gig with Al di Meola
th first guitar licks is of Scott Henderson
No one has mentioned the obvious joy and mischief of all three players. Tell me you weren't smiling along with them. It's one thing to play- it's another to do it with such youthful humor.

The Chicken was actually written by Pee Wee Ellis, a saxophonist who played with such greats as James Brown and Van Morrison.

The lick the guitarist plays here at 1:46 is stolen verbatim from Scott Henderson in this video at 3:43. I know this because it’s my favorite Scott Henderson lick of all time. ua-cam.com/video/jHb2UGIYzPM/v-deo.html

What is the difference between John Mayer and Matteo. Women adore John Mayer and Matteo only by a small group of fanatic guitarists, including myself. John is a millionaire and is seen as a natural-born genius by 99%. Only 1% can see Matteo's talent, as confirmed by Steve Vai, Al Di Meola, among others. However, the difference is that John Mayer is not able to play more than two bars of Matteo arrangements. Yes, the masses indeed see the talent of the less gifted guitarist more. Age doesn't matter because you have early and late bloomers. Some guitarists shine as 20-year-olds, and once they are over 50, they still play at the same level. Guitarists and freaks are happy with Matteo because he takes the guitar to a higher level. That group of experts will remain small and, unfortunately, only intended for freaks.
Same old story, it's always been that way. Thanks for your comment.
17 million albums and 7 Grammys. This didn’t happen because of his guitar skills alone. Without his songs, he would’ve been forgotten along time ago. He is a singer, songwriter, and primarily “blues” guitarist. It’s like comparing Holdsworth to EVH. 2 totally different players with 2 totally different careers. Both equally great. 🤷♂️ plus, I couldn’t care less about what other famous guitarists think. I trust my ears over their opinion as a guitarist for over 35 years. For that reason, I choose Max Ostro as my favorite but I do think that Matteo and Guthrie Govan have unsurpassable guitar skills. At this point, it just comes down to preference.

All excellent musicians, but this played much too up tempo. This makes it sound mechanical, and loses the groove.
