i polish all the internals of my guns to a mirror shine. its amazing what it does. makes them feel like a whole new gun. everyone always asks what parts im running. they are amazed when i say completely stock internals and it runs better than their "x brand" trigger pack.
Excellent instructional video on the P-10. I know gunsmiths hate Dremels, and with good reason, but I think you are over thinking it when doing the math and only polishing a part for one second. Mothers on a felt tip won't remove more than a handful of microns of steel no matter what. I'd run that baby until the areas in question are free of coating and like a mirror. Not meant to be a criticism but you didn't polish anything in one second, and you went through a lot of work to get there. Any gains you netted are probably from the stone. A Dremel with a grinding tip can do instant damage but go to town with the Mothers. :-)
I used your video for reference on my P-10C nearly 2 years ago and just went through it again this morning in preparation for smoothing out my new P-10F OR received this week. The P-10F is a little rough well before the wall, I'm thinking when the trigger bar first hits the disconnector ramp. My P-10C is smooth and has been since I polished the parts. Thanks again for an excellent how-to video.
Your video was just a saver for me bro, spring popped out of my striker and I had never taken that striker apart so had no clue but that’s to your video got it all back together thanks bro
Good with your hands, gunsmith and a mathematician. Great combination. Schmeky would be proud. My P10c's trigger pull consistently comes in at 4 1/2#. When I pull my trigger I feel that little bit of grit just past the wall that you speak of. I have several CZ's that I have installed CGW parts and they do make a difference on the trigger. I think on my P10c I'm going to leave it alone and let the smoothing out process happen naturally. Great video. Thanks for getting it out there quickly.
Mine pulls at 4lb 13oz avg after 250 rounds, has that same little hitch after the wall everyone talks about. Seems to be getting better though. Seems strange his was 6lbs out of the box. I'm with you, I think on this one I'm going to let it break in on it's own.
I noticed that some of the first models had an issue where part of the trigger bar on the right side of the gun was rubbing on another piece that it wasn't supposed to (I know..... not the most scientific breakdown of the area that I am referring to) but I have noticed that in the newer models the pieces have been moved further apart and never rub now. I think that correction dropped the trigger pull down in the 4 lb range so if you have a model that is ranging in the 5 lb area you might have an older model. There are vids that show how to fix this fairly easily. Thanks for the great break down and content. I'm going to try this.
I did some trigger job 0$ on it and got 3lbs trigger pull what I did was putting a ZEV 3lbs striker spring also polished everything like your great video and tapped / screw on top of the trigger to remove pretravel and cut some safety tab length on trigger now P10 feels like a 1911 trigger no pre travel and great reset wow now my gun is more accurate then my ZEV Glock and then my tanfoglio stock 2 xtrem both guns goes for 1600$+ and P10 only 540$
Very good stuff, thank you! One small suggestion. Next time maybe consider securing the Dremel and a vise or clamp, then hold the pieces and manipulate them. I think you'll find that you have a lot more control. Good luck.
Great!I did the sane on my P10 and I have to say that it has worked! Trigger action is definitely smoother..I think I will disassemble it again and polish a bit more. Thanks a lot for sharing it!!
One quick tip, I would not use water on anything after you take out the finish, it could rust and ruin the finish. Wet cloth maybe with isopropyl alcohol, or something else other than water wet cloth.
Disassemble small parts that might fly away in a one gallon freezer bag. Keeps you from retiring your firearm until you can get new parts! Ask me how I know...
I bought a p10F and I like it overall but the trigger was a disappointment…it’s not what people hype it up to be. The reset is great but the pull is gritty and heavier than both my MP 2.0s and Shield plus. I may polish using your advice or order an aftermarket set up.
Thank you so much!!! Very very helpful! Having a lighter background would make it much easier for people like me (not the eagle eyes) to clearly see the parts! :) Thanks again! Respect!
I only use Q tips when doing a trigger job. While it certainly takes more time and effort, it's so much easier to control how much polishing is accomplished with a Q tip over using a dremel. However, you showed great restraint with your technique.
Can you do us a favor? I finally figured out how to install that tiny little spring. It was very difficult to see what you were doing. Can you make another video just for that?
The striker disassembly reassembly was useless since no camera zoom on that. Couldn’t see squat. My trigger pull weight started at between 5 3/4 lbs and 6 lbs. After 1200 rounds it is between 4 3/4 and 5 1/4 lbs. No polishing needed. Gun works great the way it is. For lighter trigger pull weight go with HB Industries springs. Weight will be reduced from 1/2 lbs to about 3/4 lbs depending on which spring you use.
My trigger has really annoying kind of springy squeaky sound. Trigger doesn't feel awful, would this help on that? Everyone testing the trigger, says it has a weird sound on it. My (really fired a lot) Glock trigger makes absolutely no other sound then trigger breaking and reset.
Sounds like part of what I’m experiencing. I did the polish, going a tad further (see comment above). While trigger breaks cleaner and crisper now, I found that the gritty squeaky take-up is linked to the trigger and safety lever. Oiled just that and it improved. Still not happy with it and plan to go in with either the HBI or CGW trigger.
After dry-firing for a few evenings the trigger weight has smoothed out some more and is consistently pulling around 5 lbs 8-9 oz. I'm gonna try a few Glock striker springs to see if I can get it to an even 5 lbs.
Earl An CZ says not to dry fire these pistols. I have an ongoing email with them about damage to the front face of m striker from dry firing. No where in the manual does it state not to dry fire, in fact it actually says to in a few instances. The front face of my striker (not the actual part the contacts the primer but the first face after that) is smashed around the entire diameter.
@@owenhutchins5388 That would be a serious flaw in design. All modern firearms should withstand dryfire. That after all, is very important form of practice.
Owen Hutchins Wow! That would explain broken striker pins. I find it unbelievable that any modern striker-fired pistol would have this major design flaw. Who doesn’t dry-fire practice? I can get snap caps, but did not expect this as an issue.
That's the weight where the gauge was sort of centering itself on the trigger. It's 4lbs at the very bottom, nearly 7lbs closer to the top. My finger rests a little lower than where the gauge pulls so it's actually a couple oz lighter, there just wasn't a way to consistently pull from that spot.
Thanks I think I am gonna wait for fde and for stock to fill so I can find best deal and get one. I like glocks but I like other guns better in many ways.
Great video! So much for the p10 supposedly having the best trigger out of the box...( better than Glocks) I'm disappointed in my p10c...very hard mag release with full mag, as well as shitty gritty trigger....only have 300 ish rds through it, but many more dry firings as well as mag insertions with only minimal improvements...
David Bertram I was checking out the mag release on mine. With full mag(no round in chamber) I see the mag end plate extended down from the bottom of the grip leaving a gap. However if I push up on the bottom of the mag and at the same time depress the mag release, the mag release buttons depress effortlessly.
David . . . I must agree. I own a fleet of Glocks including a 19X. This P10c is simply awful out of the box. The trigger update has much grit. HB Industries has a trigger and I have installed that. There's some improvement, but it's not acceptable to me. How do you like the poor tension on the disassembly plate?
I said that early in the video. I was originally just going to show how the parts interact and disassembly/assembly of the mechanisms. Since I had it apart, I went ahead and "fluff and buffed" the contact points.
Anyone having problems with their P-10 C trigger from right out of the box? Just got mine shipped today and immediately noticed that it took a considerable amount of pressure to get the trigger to move from the fully extended position. I'm not too concerned about the slight grittiness on the take-up as that should disappear with a trigger job or several thousand rounds. If I depress the trigger safety bar all the way before I begin moving the trigger, the trigger then moves as it should. It's like the trigger safety bar is catching on something. Hate to send a new gun back to the factory.
I took mine to the range yesterday and had the exact same problem. It seems like the back of the trigger safety catches on something every now and then which renders it un fire able until you re adjust your trigger finger. Got me worried too. I just tried to call CZ USA, but they are closed right now. I love everything else about the gun.
I discovered that the trigger safety blade is catching on the receiver, especially when a slight amount of sideways pressure is exerted on the trigger. If the trigger moves straight back, there is no problem. I removed the trigger and rounded the corner edge of the safety blade with a small file. Works perfect now. Only problem is that there are 3 coiled roll pins and they ARE tight to remove, even tighter to drive back in. CZ does not offer any parts for the P-10C at this time, but will in the future. I barely got the larger roll pin back in, so if you should do this, put the roll pin in a drill and grind down a small radius using a fine file. Use a lot of grease to drive the pin home. Good luck. Great trigger, Yes!
I own one and I am NOT pleased with the trigger at all. I read all the hype and have discovered that it's just that . . . hype. In fact, the CZ has one of the worst triggers that I've experienced. The initial weight is about 6 pounds and there is much grit in the pull to the break. I bought a trigger from HB Industries including a striker spring set. It's better, but far from what I expected. I have a Glock 19X and these guns are in a different league.
i polish all the internals of my guns to a mirror shine. its amazing what it does. makes them feel like a whole new gun. everyone always asks what parts im running. they are amazed when i say completely stock internals and it runs better than their "x brand" trigger pack.

exactly
Was thinking the same..
I agree. You need to polish until it’s mirror finished.

Thanks for the excellent video! Took all of the grit after the wall in my P10C.
so I did it. and that gritty feel and spring scratching sound is still present.
Just bought a P10 F and I love the reset on the trigger. I'm going to follow your instructions to help break mine in a bit.

My p10 trigger after 250 rounds pulls at a 4lb13oz avg. Seems strange yours was 6lbs
You were a bit over cautious with your polishing, but I really liked your video and will use it as a guideline to polish my CZ

Great and informative and excellent sound and video quality thank you for sharing
Great video! Thanks
Just get a HBI theta. It’s cheap and after a few hundred rounds is around 3.3 lbs.
Thank you so much!!! Very very helpful! Having a lighter background would make it much easier for people like me (not the eagle eyes) to clearly see the parts! :) Thanks again! Respect!

oil-soaked Qtips are the only way to go

Somehow my wall when i pull the trigger increased in weight. Gonna re-assemble the gun again tomorrow.

You did the math of trigger pulls😂
After dry-firing for a few evenings the trigger weight has smoothed out some more and is consistently pulling around 5 lbs 8-9 oz. I'm gonna try a few Glock striker springs to see if I can get it to an even 5 lbs.

Good, thx
it's amazing you got a 6 pound trigger and I want the gun because they advertise it at 4 to 4 and half pounds.

Do not buy it; you'll be sorely disappointed despite all the positive hype.
Paul Klenk LMAO. Gen ones had issues. They are the best strikers out right now.
Is a 6# trigger pull normal for the P10? Mine brand new measured at 4.75#.
Did you have a tuff slide release, could that be polished to ease it up
Yeah man that thing hooks bad! Better after awhile but still sticky!
Not sure why you'd want to increase the existing "slop" between the parts by removing any more material.
Earl An There have been reports of the Striker (MIM) tip breakage have you experienced any issues with any of yours?
Testing the weight on the trigger the higher up on the trigger you test the higher the weight it will read
Mines at 4-4.25 out of box - think I'll jut let mine break in naturally
Nice vid
Man my pin slid out and now i cant the spring back on. I have tried for three days.
Great video! So much for the p10 supposedly having the best trigger out of the box...( better than Glocks)

Lil'Yeshua mine too....you shouldn't have to push up on mag to depress mag release...
David Bertram It make me think of a high lift roller cam in an engine. It could use one. :O
My mag would completely seize on the second round, sent it back to CZ and they fixed it. But my trigger is crisp as can be.

ugg! I lost that tiny spring now what? Where can I get another one?
NONE in the USA! There are currently NO parts in the US.
cajungunworks.com/product-category/p-10-c/
got it directly from cz usa
Shooting the gun will smooth the trigger out and help one shoot better in the process. No need to test it apart and start fixing what isn’t broke.
I said that early in the video. I was originally just going to show how the parts interact and disassembly/assembly of the mechanisms. Since I had it apart, I went ahead and "fluff and buffed" the contact points.

Lol you aren’t going to take metal off with a polishing wheel and mothers. Polish it if you’re going to do it.
Why don't firearms just come from the factory with properly polished parts?
Mark Homiak because manufacturers make thousands of guns. What your asking for is custom work and that's why those 2011s go for $4-6000
No company does that with large production guns. That would drive man hours and price up on purchase price.

you guys must not understand how triggers work, it's the best on the maket
