My advice from riding many demanding mountain passes: Avoid heavy traffic (including Goldwing, GS and HD riders trying their luck) by getting started early morning by 07.00 at the latest after staying over in the region…

Yes they can but not an easy task. Have you ride up Stelvio with one? Two up and heavy gear?

I ride the mountain roads in the Abruzzo region, there are similar tight blind corners, the problem i find is the car drivers cut the corners !I know the local roads so i prefer to ride early or mid morning when the school buses have passed!I had a lorry pull out on a blind corner while i was going down hill (it came out from a farm mud road),i was carry shopping in my soft panniers so because i was going abit slower than normal i managed to slow down and wait for the lorry to cross in front of me!Always expect the unexpected on the mountain roads, fallen rocks in the road are common after heavy rain!Stray cats and dogs in the road also!Look out!

@@SteveHarleyTours maybe you can do a video on xplaining how to drive this narrow curves on the way down? I had two hairpins downwards in the Neanderthal and I didn’t know what I was doing, I was on the rear brake all the time, but I don’t think that’s the right way to approach going downhill, is it?

@@kentower its normal to be on the brakes when riding downhill corners.front brake is probably better though.

@slimfit767 No you got to use your gears most of the time, watch this video downhill, start from about the middle, ua-cam.com/video/7-ha13-hoB8/v-deo.htmlsi=cqN-6S0O__-g71fd
