You've missed out the most important tip for bus routes. Passengers travel from their home (residential) to work then to home, then to shopping (commercial) then home again. They never travel directly between commercial and industrial. If you design bus routes that go Res > Ind > Com (or similar), everyone will get on at one end causing the busses to be overcrowded there and mostly empty at the other end. Design a route that goes Ind > Res > Com and then back again passengers on their way home will get off mid-way through the route, making space for new passengers to get on. Your busses end up much more evenly loaded and profitable and the reduction in traffic is even better.

Is there any way to remove the trees from the side of the city roads? I wanna place them myself.
Place a city road and use the replace tool to make them country roads, the buildings will stay.
