I’m have leo sun in 8th house and now I know why I’m quiet & introverted. I hate attention but always seem to be the center of it. No one truly knows me, they only know who I show them. 8th house people don't just change once in their lives, their lives are constant transformation. They are constantly growing and evolving. Who they were before isn't who they are now, or what they will be. They are not afraid to look at their stuff and heal from it. Their soul job is to transform darkness into light and to transmute the negative into positive.
8th house people also deal with a lot of other people's stuff. There are always people at your doorstep, bringing their trauma and hurts. The 8th houser will heal them, guide them, give them empowerment, wisdom, and unconditional love, and the person that was wounded will go forward, and not look back to the 8th houser.
People come to them for help and share very deep things, but then they know almost nothing of the 8th houser, and nobody bothers to ask. The 8th houser doesn't tell a lot, because often the story or the event needs a lot of time to tell and unpack it, and if the other person doesn't have time or attention, the 8th houser just holds it in.
The 8th house is a lonely place a lot of time. the 8th houser is so DIFFERENT, that not many people can handle such depth. 8th house suns want to bond and merge to the depths with another person, and most other people aren't willing to go that deep. People also don't hold the 8th housers "stuff" with sacred intent, while 8th housers hold people's stuff in deep confidence and sacred intent.
Many times, an 8th house sun will have the early death of a father figure, or an absence of father in early life. Death is often visited upon them, and adds to their transformation of consciousness.
Sun in the 8th house people are healers. When other people are near them, they receive healing without anyone even talking about it. But, intention with healing is very strong
The 8th houser must be reborn to stand fully in their soul light. They become masters of life force energy and power.

Sun in 8th house. I am still young (early 20s) and yes doom and gloom all the way.I get depressed easily and always struggle between the light and shadow. The thing is I don't fear the darkness because I've learn much from all the problems I had. Afterwards, I am able to help people understand themselves better. Though I always delve into the darker side and when i have my mood swing from being utterly hopeless to being an optimist. It's difficult living with myself but I feel it is good for me.

Sun, moon and mercury in 8th house (Taurus). I used to not be aware of how manipulative I was, now I’m conscious of that ability and keep it in check. People have always said that I’m too obscure, too serious, too ‘dark’, too much of a ‘mask-cutter’, and I used to try to lighten up for everyone’s comfort. As soon as I realized that 8th house sun is a light in the dark, that it illuminates the shadows, I softened and the heaviness lifted…I feel comforted by the warmth of the illuminated dark. The right people sense it. I do notice that I used to draw in people’s shadows, I think because they sensed a darker/shadowy energy and felt like it was the right place to let those things loose. They usually projected them onto me. Now I can see clearly what belongs to me and what belongs to other people and is a projection.
Lots of abuse, death and crisis/change in my life (I’m 49), but I’ve learned to be my own center. Much love everyone x

@waseq07 thank you for the kind words. I have now decided to start my own business and open my own holistic, spiritual counselling and life coaching practice. This combines everything above! The insurance career is now my back up plan. I'm very happy with this decision!

Eight house gemini with a scorpio rising, pluto in scorpio (and a square between mars and pluto, to top it all off!). There are very few- hardly any- people that ever really know what's going on with 8th house individuals because a lot of it is so subtle and unspeakable. As a result we can appear quite dramatic/intense to people around us and at the same time they are confused when you suddenly amaze them with some insight or achievement. I think the way we interact with reality is markedly different, I often feel like people are seeing the colourful illusion of life (particularities) while I can 'see' the general picture more clearly with my inner eye. As such, in the eight house you often intuit the dark poetic elements of life- the depressive periods sometimes emerge when you go so deep into that darkness for an enhanced understanding of it that it becomes hard to see the beauty of the whole. Its slightly useless to try to explain much of our understanding to other people (people think scorpio is secretive, but its not secrecy so much as there being a limit on our explanation), because people who ask often want a sort of scientific, reductive point by point explanation of something which is an organic, personal journey. I think that this intuition can be developed by anyone but most people won't care to do it because it requires quite a great deal of inner affirmation and honesty- you have to be honest enough to admit to all the shit you don't want to believe is true.

Yes it is all very true for me and after the age of 35 I discovered a lot of things about myself such as strong intuition, premonition, predictions, terminally ill people seeking my presence, tarot, astrology and very deep transformation/awakening. I have always studied psychology, am quite obsessed with it and others come to me a lot for counselling/advice/empathy (I have helped many suicidal people). I also have had very difficult struggles, challenges and health but I do bounce back well. I am aquarius sun and venus in 8th house (with DC scorpio three planets 7th and jupiter scorpio too 6th). I think until now (39) I have been afraid of my own power (spiritual study, practise, meditation and psychology etc has helped me to manage it)

I've been studying Western astrology pretty much my whole life and just recently started learning Vedic Astrology. I had my Vedic Birth Chart done professionally and found out that my Sun (and Mercury) are in the 8th House, yes this freaked me out and with all the research and information I have acquired doesn't even compare to your in-depth explanation. You pretty much told most of my life story and who I am close to the core of my being. Aquarius Sun, Gemini Moon I am already a complex creature. Thank you for sharing, it has brought more clarification and ease.

I just turned 30 in August, I can related to everything what you said here about Sun in 8th house. I have my Sun in 8th House, Leo. Depression was something a part of my life, but things have been changing for me from last one and half year, able to handle things much better. I also learned Tarot cards during this time. Funny thing is that when I do a reading for others they come back to me with positive feedback about accuracy of the reading. But I still suck while doing reading for myself.

Great interpretation Lada! I'm a Leo sun and I have my sun, venus, mercury, lilith, and palas in the 8th house. My moon is also in scorpio and I have my jupiter in the 12th house. This video is 100% correct. I'm 19 years old right now but when I was younger I would often manipulate those around me to gain power and I would feel so proud of myself. I don't do that anymore, now I find that happiness and power through helping others spiritually. I don't know how I would have turned out if I hadn't found astrology. Astrology and meditation is my salvation. I am very prone to darkness but I've gone through an amazing transformation these past few years (Saturn being in scorpio) and I really feel like a Phoenix now, bringing peace. I still have a lot to learn and grow but I'm happy to be on this journey. Lada is spot on! I have a Scorpio Rising with Sun, Mercury, Mars and Lilith in the 8th house, when I put my mind to it, "its like" I can see in the dark and through walls, I am good at sizing a person up within minutes and know what they will do before they do it.

It's true. l can see through others and their motivations. l naturally dig undernesth anything surface and artificial. l feel things intensely. l want to understand myself, other people, the world and my place in it. l value
autonomy and individuality. l want to rule my own world and have a kingdom of my own. But l cannot freely do that when there are outside forces against me. It feels like a never ending battle. my conclusion is that maybe l have to change it myself. There are so many things wrong this world. l hate it that we are under the insidious rule of psychopathic and sociopaths. Corporate rights override human rights. Devoid of morality, goodness, compassion, tolerance and harmony. where greed and materialism is gospel.
l want to encourage people not be sheep and and stand up what is right. complicity and compliance is part of the problem.

This is accurate. I'm an aquarius, gemini descendant and I have sun, mercury and venus in the 8th house. I can read people very well and sense feelings. I'm also a deep thinker and people gasp at how deep I am... I don't cruelly manipulate people but I do "suggest" and I know to back off when I can't influence the situation in a positive way. Scorpio Sun in 8th house with an Aries Moon in the 1st. yeah it depends which astrology you use: the psychological one is 8th house(scorpio, regeneration, in depth investigation of motivation and repeating patterns) while Aquarius Astrology is the mundane one-cycles within cycles, social changes trends, etc. Interestingly enough, in constellation astrology, the fixed stars which make a great astrologer are all in Leo constellation(in this day and age in our tropical Virgo)
Hi I use western astrology too, but I use a different house system which is the older one and based on space not on time--it gives better results so far. Basically your Sun will much more influence on the 9th house, than on the 8th, maybe a bit of the 8th too, but mostly the 9th

Hi do not use Vedic zodiac, it will not show the reality--you are a leo not a Cancer, siderial zodiac is for the big astrological ages only, not for the human character! Also even the very old vedic books were using tropical zodiac, not siderial like the present vedic astrologers--they have done mistranslations in the past 2000 years
My Sun in the 8th house child was saying "ABRACADABRA" at 6-7 years old. I am into the occult. I have a 12 house stellium and she has an 8th House stellium. I have Sun Moon Mercury in the 8th, moon conjunct chiron(in the 8th). Pluto in the 1st house. I am now 33. 'Transformation' and accepting that my energy may be unaccepted or repulsive to some has been a struggle with Libra ascendant. I do enjoy having Pluto on my shoulder to help bust out of "people pleasing, peacemaker mode".

hi, just watch your western tropical indictaions like I show them, Vedic astrology uses siderial zodiac which is not for character definition. But you might have your Sun in the 9th sign from the Sun with the 8th house cusp, so then your sun will have connotations of both 8th and 9th houses, but if you have your Sun in the 9th sign from Ascendant with the 9th house cusp in Aqua too, then your Sun is affecting much more your 9th house, I use campanus house system, hence it give differences

I'm an Aquarius, and I definitely feel its influences (I'm cerebral, liberal, humanitarian and a little weird), but sometimes I really do feel like a Scorpio; I've got Sun in the 8th, Mercury in the 8th, Sun sextile Pluto, Venus conjunct Pluto, Mars square Pluto, Uranus sextile Pluto, Jupiter conjunct Pluto, Pluto trine Midheaven, and Moon in Scorpio. WHEW! I have a loooot of intimacy issues/an intense fear of being or feeling out of control, I find that I tend to manipulate others, almost unconsciously, I'm generally very suspicious of others, and I often use sex (not necessarily the act, but rather the art of seduction) to get what I want. I'm also good at coaxing others to buy me stuff, lol. Plus I love the occult/anything dark, mystical, or psychological. I could go on, but, you get the idea.

Hi Lada, really interesting video :) I have sun in the 8th house conjunct mercury. However, my sun squares pluto in the 5th house with a 0 degree orb. Can I still experience the positive benefits of having the sun in the 8th house even though I have this really tight square? I have heard that pluto eventually teaches its lesson, but it can take a long time. I definitely have experienced some of the hardships of this aspect, so that is why I am curious.
Hi, I also have an Aries Sun, 8° (Scorpio degree) in the 8H, with My sun opposite Pluto. My entire life thus far is transformation. Delving into Astrology, psychology, occult, psychic abilities, death, the afterlife and things that aren’t fully accepted in the mainstream is where I’m most comfortable. Thank you , My sun in Taurus in the 8th and mercury is in thec8th. Believe me I had enough of every day rebirth not to mention the monthly and yearly rebirths as well. All happening at the same time, I feel that life makes things happen around me but without subject, Like I was not intended to experience it at all. My sun is in Scorpio conjunct Mars in Scorpio (+2) both in the 8th house... Does this mean I have extra Scorpionic influence? I was trying to do some research but didn't find much. From my personal understanding it just amplifies Scorpio influence? Any input would be great! :)
Lada, when I plug my birth information into your birth chart calculator it tells me my sun is in the 9th house Sagittarius; when I use other calculators, I'm told it's in the 8th Sagittarius. Why am I getting different results?

Hi Lada, with the equal house system my sun is in the 8. It is only in that house system that I am aware of that my sun is in the 8, all others I know its in the 9th. Should I also see myself having a sun in the 8th? thanks
Hi I use western tropical zodiac--not siderial and I use campanus house system, not placidus, this is where the difference comes from but the calculator is correct. Sadly astrology has differences and every astrologer uses whatever they feel works best-there are two zodiacs, and 20 different house systems, so astrology is hardly a precise science at this point !
