I adore my Mini-14, but I HATE the original polymer Monte Carlo stock, and California wouldn't allow folding, extendable, or thumbhole stocks... I found the Choate Pistol Grip stock fits me great, and doesn't qualify my rifle as an Assault Weapon (can't wait for that BS to end). However... If they did make a Mini-14/30 version of this chassis, I'd be all over it

My dad made one of these from scratch that shoots 22 magnum. It is a wonderful piece of art. It is a perfect 50% replica. I remember asking him one day what a tool in his garage was for and he explained it was a tiny lathe. I said what would you need such a small lathe for and he said that when he was making replicas the screws were perfect 50% reductions and you could only make them you could not buy them. Crazy exact. He even milled the barrel and entire inner workings. Nowadays people have an Xbox hobby.

Now that you’re mentioning it it’s making me feel kind of bad that I didn’t do it the last time I was up there. Such a great idea. I will try to make this happen

You should've shot the cinder block with the 50 and 22, then just swapped the down range footage. So you shoot the 50 and it goes "tink" off the block, then you shoot the 22 and the block blows in half. Either way this was a very entertaining video.
I could have saved you a bunch of time testing these two! Everyone knows the only thing that matters is knock down power on big game! Nothing is more effective at knocking elephants out of trees then the good old 100% reliable. 22 lr!!!!

Yes, the .50 holds less rounds. But keep in mind every time you fire the .50, you're sending 15+ rounds of .22 downrange.
I don't think that conversion is correct... There's no way somewhere around 15 rounds of 22 is the same as 1 bmg
