- Host Jim Burneka speaks with Brendan McDonough, the lone survivor of the Granite Mountain Hotshots. This episode focuses on the aftermath of the June 30th, 2013 Yarnell wildfire in which 19 of his fellow Hotshot brothers died in the line of duty. Brendan discusses his struggles resulting from survivor’s guilt, including depression, suicidal thoughts, drug and alcohol abuse, and the post traumatic growth that has led him to create a treatment center to help others that are struggling.

Thanks, Brother🙏✌
Thank you Brendan for your witness! You are a blessing to so many through your journey and pain. You give people hope. I am so far removed from what you went through but I can't get over the scope of what happened and how you have turned your journey into an impactful life. Your children will learn so much from your leadership and witness.
thank you Brendan for your testimony God bless you ❤️ from cali
thank you for this video.
Was very honored to have met Brandon McDonough and Amanda Marsh at FDIC a few years ago.
Amazing ❤️
Good to see him doing much better!
God bles you
Blessed that you shared your experience~ painful and heartbreaking as it was. As a civilian, people like me have absolutely no comprehension of the risks and sacrifices of not only fire fighters in general but particularly Wildland and Hotshot crews. The closest I've ever been to a fireman was parked beside a fire truck at the gas station. The movie Only The Brave is so informative, personal, real and haunting beyond words.
RIP Granite Mountain Hotshots.

God Bless all the GM families and God Bless You Brendan. ❤🙏❤
Thank you brother for your service.
