- For the first time sold in the USA in over 20 years! Introducing the 2022 Aria Pro II PE-R80 Lemon Drop guitar. Hand crafted in Japan, and sold exclusively by Ish Guitars in the USA.
The PE-R80 is the most famous guitar you've never heard of. Played by A-list rock star of the 70's and 80's like Neil Schon of Journey and Andrew Ridgeley of Wham!, these guitars scream with gain, and sound full and sultry when clean.
Japanese quality is well known by their incredibly high precision. If the Japanese can make a Katana that can cut other swords in half, you better bet they can make a fantastic guitar!

LISTHEN TO GAIN SAMPLES OF THIS GUITAR HERE: ua-cam.com/video/1avDfihVZzo/v-deo.html
Sorry guys we had forgotten to include some gain samples and wanted to attach a separate video so you can hear how amazing this guitar sounds with a bit of gain!
Man that is a beautiful guitar how much does it weigh it must be way lighter than a Gibson. I have one of the last ones made at that factory to the begins with an m I can't pronounce it LOL. The insides are cheap the pickups are great the guitar is amazing and it's the only one I can put the strings that low without Buzz. I lived here 12 years and it was still almost in tune LOL it was in the case for all those years. It's the area Pro 2 SL series but it's red there are very few red ones
Owner of an original Matsumoku-built 1983 PE-60 here! Beautiful, well-made, and great sounding/playing instrument. I had no idea that the same models (with the H. Noble insignia and batwing headstock) were being made today in Japan. Of course, Japan has built high-quality guitars since the '70's........but WOW, these new Arias are just over-the-top in terms of quality! PRS quality for less $$
Got an original R80. Bought it about 20 years ago in London for £250. Thought I paid too much for it at the time, but it was probably a decent investment.
So cool they brought back the bat wing headstock ! The heel and overall look is definitely influenced by Rich Lasner's VOX guitars out of Novato, CA.
I remember these Aria's from the 80's...always excellent guitars!
cool! I have an early 80s aria proii zzb in purpleburst. i tried talking to the Aria people at namm but they had no idea what i was talking about, they called that bass 'vintage' -cry
Wow thats embarassing
They perfected the lp formula in the 80s and I love it
Have an Aria Pro II PE-60 (1984). Great guitar.
Me as well (mine is 1983). Until the relatively recent interest in vintage Japanese instruments, these Matsumoku originals were underrated for the longest time; everyone lusted for something with a prestigious brand name on the headstock, and Aria/Vantage/Electra instruments ended up relegated to pawn shops.....even though the quality was often equal to or better than Gibsons/etc. My PE has a unique sound and personality and mojo that's hard to reproduce in my newer instruments. I'm glad these are still being made today in Japan - and apparently with much better quality that the (already high-quality) originals.
Love, love, love - Want, want, want!! 😃 BTW. To my knowledge the switches are for series - parallel, not coil splits!! Big plus in my book ;-) Thanks for showing cleans sounds. Also Classic power pickups are PAF type, the DiMarzios That some PE-R80s had were Super Distortions (not my favorite on this), you can still get the PE-R80 with Super D's if you want TMK.
Pickup info is a little off. They came with both classic power and DiMarzio Super D's. Super D's were all the buzz at the time, but I would go for a set of classic power any day, as they are the more vintage voiced pickups ;-)
Great looking and sounding guitars. Just looked at the website though, and they're all over 9lbs., so that's a non starter for me.
Anyone know the nut width of these guitars?❤
How much do they weigh and what is all of the writing on the headstock?
On the website, they're all over 9lbs.
Aria are amazing, even the chinese mades.
i want one but i'm in the uk
We can ship one to you!
I think aria pro 2 is made in korea.
These guys are made in Japan :)
Can you guys get parts for an rs series Arua? That was my first electric I owned and I need a tremolo bridge for mine.....I love that guitar and would love to be able to play it again
