der squid I played the game and recorded the video footage using Fraps. For this instance I skipped ahead using cheat codes. After recording I edited the recording with this movie as an end result. Cutscene files don't exist unfortunately. The game creates the cutscenes in real time. I mean the game plays itself while controling the camera; zooming in/out, rotating and change orientation of the camera. In other words; it doesn't play any videos during the cutscenes. You can however find the sound files; they're located in sound.bar; a file in the Program Files of the game. I can't exactly tell which folder by head, but it is easy to find as I remember. You will need a program to extract the .bar file, which you can download from Aomheavens.

This game is so underrated. It was one of the best strategy games I've ever played. Great campaign, awesome scenario creator and a fun multiplayer. Rest in peace, Ensemble. You taught history and mythology in the best way possible.

grimli16 AOM has got an option to change the resolution, so you can make the game in HD yourself by changing the resolution. I don't see why anyone would invest in an AOM HD Edition.

I'm really getting sick to damn death of the gaming industry putting out nothing but mindless remakes year after year with nothing new ever being thrown in. I can understand remaking an old game to update the graphics to where they match up to currently technology. But the same time. Don't waste perfectly good sequel opportunity just to give the old game some technical improvements. Seriously Microsoft!!! Stop cheating people out of money with copy and paste first person shooter nonsense!!! And do something with an old IP that's still beloved!!! I know you've got it in you!!! You greedy bastards!!!!
One small detail that I really liked about the story line of the campaign was the puzzled ignorance that the characters had about different cultures. When the Atlantean forces meet the Norse you really get the feeling that both sides are thinking, "who the hell are these guys...". Little details like this are what make good games great.
16:21 at this moment i realize how great this campaign. The people at Ensemble Studios did their homework on greek mythology and understood that the god's would play with the mortals down below. Zeus led Arkantos to Amanra on purpose to placed in that predicament.
I love the moment you realize Poseidon isn't exactly on your side... I'd pay hundreds to get an updated version with the game, perhaps with expanded lore about the scheming between the Gods.

Trevor McGuffee arkantos is kinda a leader and a smart guy (not the smartest). Hes reckless and fearless in battlefield and hes a state amd religious man. About ajax: hes kinda the brute one, a good friend but a strong fighter. He's not the most clever of the heros but hes the guy who you should always count with even in the darkest times. Oddisseus: we dont know a lot about him in AoM campaign so i will only say that hes smart and a loyal friend. Agammenon: Cocky king, maybe he would be doomed if its not cuz oddysseus suggested trojan horse. Amanra: pretty chill, loyal friend and a religious and fierceful woman. i left a lot out ikr but these are the ones that i remember

I checked out voobly and apparently i had to make an account but it was kinda late and i wasnt bothered at the time. Also, its confirmed you cant play it via disc because it doesnt have a compatible driver. We followed all the steps and it still didnt work, then we looked it up online and it said thhat it didnt have a compatible driver on windows ten. Also, there is a steam version for like $30 but apparently its buggy. Also about voobly, are you sure its virus free and isnt illegal?
I've been using Voobly for ages, it's a great program to play Age of Mythology online; I prefer Voobly over it's competitor GameRanger. The steam version is worse than the original version, but it's still a good option if you can't get the original version. You can get the steam version on G2A for about $10 I think. Also I heard you can solve the problem by installing either a no-cd patch for the original version or either install the needed driver manually. I haven't tried these things myself though, since all my computers are either running Windows 7 or Windows XP. Good luck! :)
Click right on the shortcut (Or the .exe file) > Properties > Compability. And it you can set the compability as other operative system. (Windows XP for example) and open it as an admin. Sorry for late reply, i was busy :v
