"pretend it's The Walking Dead"... 🤣👍
    I love you ladies.
I had no idea so many women were still getting IUDs, due to all the issues so many women had with them years ago, especially excessive bleeding.
Unfortunately, all newer laptops and phones will have A.I. chips now, and they watch everything you do. You can't "block" them since they are integrated into the phones hardware.
It was so nice to hear Burb. I can't imagine her ever being a "pick-me". She is a powerful presence online and so glad I found her too.
Another great show. Thank you ladies!

Omg, I never knew how horrific an experience getting an IUD inserted was until I heard this! Should be done under general anesthesia ALWAYS! It's so crazy how the medical industry just EXPECTS women to endure pain! Crazy!

What you said about the IUD is so true. They don’t tell you shit. I was on the pill and my doctor (a woman btw) convinced me to get an IUD instead. I was told to take an ibuprofen the morning of the appointment for the pain and given no other anesthesia. She said “you will feel a slight pressure”. Girl, I almost blacked out from the pain. My heart was beating so fast I could hear it in my ears and I was nauseous for hours afterwards. I use a menstrual cup I really like and my doctor was adamant it would not interfere with my IUD. Well, 6 month in I accidentally pulled the IUD out when removing my menstrual cup. (I was in a hurry and I didn’t break the suction seal properly). It was just as painful as the insertion. It was also at the beginning of the pandemic and I couldn’t go to the hospital because we were in lockdown. When I finally went and told my doctor what happened she was like “oh, wow, I never heard of that happening, how curious” even tho I found people online talking about the same thing happening to them. And this was one of the better OBGYNs I had. 🤦‍♀️

35:08 Same experience Bourbon and Bougie. Random older women telling me I look like a man and no man will want you. Asking me if I’m homosexual because apparently only Lesbians wear their hair short. My father banned me and my sisters from wearing red lipstick and red nail/toe nail polish until we were adults. I lowkey think it still triggers him. It is so sad.

And would you ladies ever do an episode with feminist or women's history centered book suggestions suggestions? I would love to hear some inspiring reads and an overview or why you think it's a good read. Thank you for giving us your voices and getting through these times.

    1. I met a guy that told me he wanted a traditional woman, but he was atheist
    2. Met a guy that said the girl at work was perfect (yes she was a pick me). I asked why don’t he marry her and he said “he has standards” lmao

Yeah, Burb, excellent point about having grace for pick mes. It's still internalized misogny to look down on those women who haven't seen the light. We need to be patient and welcoming (shifting that energy from men) to help other women. Sisters unite!!💪💪

35:00 when women tell me “no man is gonna want you like that,” they don’t realize that’s a compliment. I’m not interested in pulling men. I don’t dress myself to “pull” anybody, but if I’m wanting attention like that, I want and get it from women

I hate to cook! I refuse to learn to cook anything I don't eat weekly. Anything I know how to cook, it's because I need to know how to cook. After all, it's on my restricted weekly diet! If I want to eat anything different, I go to my favorite restaurant that makes it, or my fiancé makes it for me. My fiancé is the one who loves to cook, he makes elaborate five-course dinners for me, and I love him for it.

For me, being so utterly lazy and useless in the kitchen was a low-key vetting strategy for dating men. It would've only ever worked if the man can cook for the both of us because god knows I won't. -Gwen

    • @Karina.Annen2025
      @Karina.Annen2025 4 дні тому

@TheAudaci-TeaPodcast Yeah, Gwen! It was the same for me. I was veemently against even dating men (or anyone) until I met my fiancé, I used to say "I don't cook and I only clean after myself" to scare off every men my sister or cousins tried to set me up with, that if they proceed to pursue me after I proudly and loudly declared 'I'm a feminist", I also insisted we'd be friends for 6 months before we even went out for the first time, and since I knew him well already, he cooked a delicious five course meal for me, and he even learned to do my favorite dessert: a petit gateau, vanilla ice cream and a little chocolate cake that's firm on the outside, and gooey chocolate on the inside (it's a french inspired Brazilian dish).

I come from a pretty uppity background so the idea of marrying a rich man never really thrilled me. I’d rather marry someone who makes an average income and works hard and is someone I’m attracted to and is funny and faithful. I don’t come from old money but I am able from my family to be able to live comfortably.

Yeah agreed about how the younger women just focus on cooking and making babies it's such a stereotype I was actually swindling then like that for a long time that's how I got them to stop bothering me as much when they realized I might be connected too and that's why they couldn't trap me into a loveless marriage they tried but failed miserably at it.

I'm a medical biller and have been for 20 years. It's my belief that ALL women should be highly sus about the medical community, but especially women of color and neurodivergent women. You gotta do what you gotta do - if you need an IUD or have an episodic illness or injury, obviously seek medical attention as needed. But the healthcare system in the US has no mechanism for providing health whatsoever. If you want to be healthy, unfortunately, you HAVE to learn about your body, your nutrition, your conditions and all those details and manage it yourself. The current system has no capacity to manage chronic illnesses or to take an unhealthy person to healthy. Doctors frequently prescribe statins and beta blockers to any woman who is overweight at all without doing any diagnostic testing. This is an attempt to artificially induce homeostasis without addressing underlying causes. I personally know 5 women who have lost consciousness or been hospitalized because they took medications as directed by their providers. If you are not an average sized, healthy, white male, every aspect of your being that is different from the norm converts the "science" of medicine to throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks. They don't know how meds affect women vs men, ND vs NT, fat vs normal weight. They guess. And medications are dangerous. They are necessary sometimes, too, but your doctor is likely never going to take enough time or know enough about your specific body to make a scientifically backed decision. It is a profit machine and they make money from volume. The system does not allow for personalized or good care.
FYI, I effing hate this system and I know A LOT about it. If you ever want me on your pod (after vetting me ofc) I'd love to dish about this stuff.
