Me and my partner won FFA! Very fun stream (Even if the main bracket was kind of eh because sleep staves) but I still had fun! All I can really hope for is that we win the grand FFA or at least make it far, here's hoping to a fun final round!

@@Xord2006 Sweeps are boring in general - anything in life imo. When a build can't do shit for 3 turns because u have to invest 21 res into not get 100% hit then it's broken. Items need price rebalancing

It's straight up impossible for an FFA not to be fun.. what's not to like about effectively throwing staves into the trash? Of course, the occasional betrayal is always lovely to watch~
Welp I got witches in my 1st match and I felt unbelievably angry and I’m still bitter now but congrats to the winners because I know them and they built this team in the intentions of showing off stupid the sleep staff was. The sleep staff and status staves at large have been overpowered the entire arena. It’s just that most builds didn’t really understand how to abuse it until witches came around. They hit almost all the time if you invest into magic at all. You need to completely over invest into res to even have a good chance to avoid not even like a consistent chance. You need 21 res for it to not be 100% in this case. We’re not gonna mention just how bad over-investing resistance is in most matchups. Sync is the worst niche counter skill ever. Its application is very low and it doesn’t even prevent the user from getting slept so it only potentially forces a reset of the match rather than countering it. Status staves also occupy the position of being better and safer than doing an attack yet have stronger and less counter able effects than just attacking. They’re also one of the few things your backline can do while going first. Sleep specifically is complete bullshit. You skip 5 phases or even 6 phases because of powerstaff with a 2 turn sleep. This status doesn’t give you room to do literally anything and the 2-4 attacks for free coming from a super non-committal player 1k gold cheap staff is insane. It creates MUs you absolutely shouldn’t win with minimal investment because the enemy is physically incapable of interacting with you outside of like 3 skills that can activate by getting hit. One of the cool mantras for the arena is “you can’t plan for everything” you can’t this is true. Status staves by far create a “even if you plan around it you still have an insane chance to lose” it’s hard to win against the sleep staff even while you’re specifically hating on it. And in those cases you just end up losing to most normal builds. So either you snipe the problem or L which I really don’t think is fun for anyone involved. So overall I just think status staves should’ve been dumpstered from the start or if not all of them at least the sleep staff because sleep specifically creates 0 interaction games. Edit Note: Summons are a really good way to counter status staves and it’s actually one of the reasons people didn’t see how unfair it was for most of the arena but being forced to pick 2 classes that are mostly the same as each other and the fact that summoner also perpetuates the problem isn’t healthy either. PS: I’m still salty I’m sorry
I feel bad for everyone who was excited to submit this time around, the balance has never been worse. As a viewer these were the worst gladiator streams and I just find myself skipping through them..
What I find most interesting about Witches and Stitches is that there's actually 3 people who don't face a 100% sleep rate: Zabami, Tia, and Kayla. Even though Zabami and Kayla are extremely tanky, they suffer from middling speed syndrome.. both the summoner and the witch easily double them. It isn't exactly a problem when faced with Elsurge, but Luna on the other hand... Zabami's survival is already out of the equation there. Kayla can live for longer since she wouldn't suffer from any magic triangle disadvantage, though she can't exactly do that much damage (only around ~30 at best). Tia has to deal with a higher sleep staff hit rate than the other two (~80% to their ~70%), but she can hold her own surprisingly well against both the summoner and witch if she manages to dodge her eternal slumber. Due to how Quick Riposte works, she can kill both of them in a single round if she hits two 60% Runesword hits.. a feat that is also easier said than done. It is definitely possible, but incredibly unlikely. Overall, I just wanna say that two status staves and dual powerstaff on the same team is really dumb. Hannako should've nerfed the limit to one PER TEAM a long time ago, since she has access to the document and all.
And so mangs hibernated until the Fe4 remake, which means he got to see the heat death of the universe haha. Also gg to team 'Which team are you cheering for?', they were epic
